just saw a pigeon doing the puffed up courtship dance thing to another pigeon, and as he was strutting around he suddenly stopped for a split second to do a very brief preen-peck at his own side, then returned to the strutting around. and i surprised myself by instantly losing respect for the male pigeon in that moment, like come on man i appreciate you had an itch or whatever but how is she supposed to feel special when you're getting distracted by bullshit like that? which on reflection i don't endorse, i mean those are pretty harsh dating norms i'm imposing on these pigeons, from a total outsider perspective, for no reason. probably not all girl pigeons are as uptight about that sort of thing as i would apparently be if i was a girl pigeon, maybe she even found it endearing who knows, i don't know her. it's none of my business really. sorry pigeons.

When they're waiting to board the boat and the crowd is all listening in on Murderbot telling the humans its going back to help the militia hold off the corporates

The crowd all parting to let it through and Mb thinks it must be its angry face and not the fact that everyone just heard its going off to protect them

When passengers spot it in the water and work together to pull it aboard

Random humans recognizing its heroism and working to help it

They hear its kid? say "They will kill you" they hear its wife? ask if it's "going to do the thing." It has a past the kids don't know about. It's going to protect everyone or die trying. Its going to buy its family time to get away. You know every human on that boat was relieved when it made it back aboard.

Murderbot outfit thoughts!

(This was all drawn and thought of without any prior research so do not expect any accuracy lol)

The right most outfit is what I think murderbot would pick for itself when it gets its first chance at a clothing kiosk. It talks about baggy and many many layers of clothing to cover it, an attempt to use clothing to hide it from the world around it(relatable yet again). While it chooses not to go all the way with that plan as that would limit practicality I think it most likely would still subconsciously go for something oversized to hide away in. With a plethora of pockets ofc.

In the middle is what I think what ART made for it could’ve looked like-very similar to what murderbot chose itself but clearly made specifically for it. Things that fit murderbot itself better for better movement and shorter sleeves to accommodate for arm-guns. And while I think we originally hear about murderbot buying sturdy work boots for itself I think that kind of boot would be much harder to run and do the many insane acrobatic tricks it does in. So another detail is boots more fitted for Murderbots movement and flexibility.

The last design is based on the mental image I got from reading it’s outfit description from platform decay. It’s long light brown jacket imeadeitly makes me go TRENCHCOAT. And having to fit in with the corporates it makes sense for me if it’s dressed sci-fi business casual in slacks leather brown shoes and a collared shirt.

And ofc the description “2cm longer, different texture and color”- means shitty bleach ponytail ^ v ^

Okay, so, I do more or less fall into the Grace-is-aroace camp, buuuut… Started pondering the Murderbot/Hail Mary crossover stuff more and you know who I think he’d click with immediately? Ratthi.
