OPEN RP - V2. P.1. Runaway.

No one leaves HYDRA. Once you join, you're in for life. But maybe they forgot that when they decided to run. To leave. To think they could find another life outside that which had created them. Given them all of of their talents. Selfish fool.

Perhaps one should take it as a complement that HYDRA did not send an assit. Did not send a weapon. They sent a monster. A hunter that will track his prey down without rest. Without pause. Until they are to exhausted to keep running. Until they have realized that hiding only gives him time to catch up.

Officer Marcus Petrov stands in a dirty, 'empty' hotel room, holding a loaded gun, pointed up at the ceiling. He stands at ease, as if the other person in here does not want him dead. Perhaps because he knows they are tired. Run down. That he is their living nightmare.

"Come out little fox. You can't keep running forever."

Valerie hadn't expected to escape Hydra twice, but then again, she didn't think they'd ever catch her again. She supposes it makes sense in a twisted way that they send Marcus after her, given he's the one who brought her back and twisted her mind back up into an asset's.

Still, she hides. She won't go back there, not when she's finally remembering that she's a person. She slides a hand to her gun, willing it not to shake. She can't afford to be afraid of Marcus, not now.

"Come on, puppet. Don't make this hurt more than it has to." Marcus isn't begging, he's promising pain beyond imagination. "Don't be stupid. You know you can't hide forever, and you know you can't kill me. So just give in."

Valerie is fully determined to kill him. She slips out into the same room, gun aimed at his chest. "Who says i cant kill you?" She asks, then curses herself for letting the taunting get to her and have her come out.

"You. I can recognize patterns." He lowers his gun, pointing it at the floor, making it clear he isn't trying to shoot her at the moment. "Go on then. Prove me wrong. Shoot me. Kill me right now. "

"I killed my handler before you," Valerie points out, gun still aiming at his chest. So why isn't she shooting him right now, with the opportunity plainly presented?

"To state it simply, because I fixed that. You shouldn't have been capable of killing your handler, but unfortunately for them, they sucked." He sets the gun back into the holster. "It's been wired into you. Can you feel it? You can't pull that trigger. Can you?"

Valerie bites back the instinctive urge to defend her previous handler, a long outdated instinct but not one she's ever been able to quite get rid of. Instead, she tries to pull the trigger and realises her brain won't make her hand move. "What did you do to me?"

"I fixed you. Isn't it delightful?" He laughs, as if changing the way someone's brain was wired was amusing. Some light entertainment. He steps closer. "You cut your hair. Again."

Valerie snarls and steps back, away from him. Despite knowing she cant fire it, she hasn't dropped the gun. "I dont like it long," she snaps back at him.

"Could have told me that," he replies as if that would have changed anything he did. He takes another step forward, keeping the distance close. "Now what were you afraid of? Was it the whip? No...that was my rat...hm.."

Valeire glares, "Yes, because you really encouraged your assets to have personal preferences," she snaps. She wants to step back again but cant without getting too close to the wall. "Im not afraid of you," she lies.

"Is that so?" He pulls his necklace with his whistle out from under his shirt. "I just remembered. It's this, isn't it?"

Valerie's eyes immediately drop to the whistle. Fuck, he wasn't... wrong. She was afraid of that. It fucking hurt. Still, she can handle the pain, right? "No.."

He brings the whistle to his mouth, not blowing quite yet. Giving her one more chance. "Knees. Now."

Valerie glowers at him, accepting that this si going to hurt, but she won't let him take her again. "Fuck. You."

He blows the whistle, using it as a distraction instead of the main weapon. He slams his forearm against her throat, pushing her back against the wall.

Valerie cries out in pain at the dual attack, but she still manages to fight back against him. Don't give in, don't give in-

He clamps the whistle with his teeth, freeing his other hand to defend against her attacks as he continued to push against her throat, trying to cut off her oxygen.

Valerie struggles,trying her best to ignore the pain caused by the whistle. She kicks his leg out from under him, snapping the knee back even as she cries out.

He is forced to release his pressure against her throat so as to catch himself. Even so, he lands on his knee. It was odd. For just a moment, her superior was kneeling before her. Then he pulls himself to his feet, hiding the pain in his leg behind a snarl.

He pulls the whip from his belt, lashing it out at her.

Valerie blinks, faltering for just a moment when he ends up on his knees before her. It really was odd. It's also why she doesn't quite manage to dodge the whip lash, and it wraps around her wrist and she winces, pulling back.

Marcus jerks on the whip, attempting to pull her forward as he catches his breath, the whistling momentarly stopping. His free hand drops to his gun, but he doesn't draw it yet.

Valerie stumbles a little and then pulls back again, grabbing the whip with her free hand to unwind it. The wrist it was wrapped around is bloody and raw.

He jerks the whip back, lashing it across her, aiming for her face.

Valerie barely dodges, the whip landing against the side of her cheek. "Leave me alone!"

"I don't think so." He draws his gun now, aiming for her leg as he pulls the trigger.

"Why can't you just let me live?" She sounds almost desperate, and doesn't manage to dodge the bullet. She stumbles.

"Live?" He cocks the gun again, firing at her other leg. "You is weapon. You live to serve. Don't forget that you are disposable. Fight too much and my next bullet finds your heart."

"If I was so disposable, you wouldn't have gone to so much effort to find me," Valerie snaps, then crumples. She can fight through a bullet wound, but in both legs...

"Ugh." He reaims, this time pointing at her face. "I never did like how mouthy you were. I could just tell them you were too strong. They would never have to know."

Valerie scoffs. "Please. You're not going to do that. That'd make them think you failed." Her eyes follow the gun.

"You forget-" his finger tightens around the trigger "-I don't like you. Bitch."

"You don't like any assets," Valerie points out. She knows he might shoot her, but she'd rather die still fighting.

"Your point?" He laughs. It feels out of place. He doesn't look amused. "And you are wrong. I do like some of the assets. I like the nice obedient ones who don't go out of their way to make my life hard."

Valerie rolls her eyes. "Yes, yes. I was a great asset. That's why im such a pain in your ass now."

He turns the safety back on and shoves his gun back into it's holster. "You were, hm? Then why are you running?"

"I had a change of heart." A slight slump of relief when he holsters the gun.

"A change of heart, huh?" He grabs her by the shoulder, pulling her back to her feet. "Tell me, do you think you can still run?"

Valerie cries out in pain when her weight shifts back to her legs, but she doesn't fall. She's trained for this. "If it means escaping you." Probably....? Maybe...?

He shoves her roughly away. "Then run."

Tears start streaming as Valerie runs. She's half as fast as normal.

He follows, walking. She couldn't tell if he was taunting her, playing a game before taking down his prey, or if he was legit trying to give her a chance to excape.

He doesn't reach for his own gun or make any move to take cover. "Are you going to shoot me? After I let you go? Ungrateful brat."

"I'm not going to shoot you. I'm making sure you don't shoot me." She's mostly just pausing running while her legs slowly start to heal.

"Run!" He moves slightly quicker when she slows, forcing her to keep moving. He knows he's slowing her healing process, but doesn't care. "If I catch you a second time, I'll kill you," he warns.

"Come out little fox. You can't keep running forever."

Emilia is curled up in the bath tub, bathroom door locked, trying to steady her panicked breathing as much as possible so he doesn’t hear her. Her tears silently fall down her face as she listens, every sound causing her to flinch

"Your mother misses you-" he taunts, pacing back and forth across the room, listening for any sign of movement. Of course, he suspected the closed door, but there was almost a closet and he wasn't going to make any rash movements. "Come back like a good little girl."

Emilia’s grips her knife in her hand and sniffles back her cries. She adjusts herself in the bathtub, bringing her knees closer to her chest. She can’t get caught. Her eyes start to glow, ready to defend herself if he finds her

He clicks the safety off and then fires at the floor, listening for any sharp gasp. Any sound of surprise or fear. He wanted to shake her.

Emilia does in fact gasp. She drops her knife into the bathtub with a small clang and quickly scrambles to get it, still silently hoping he didn’t hear but knowing deep down he definitely did

Quickly stepping forward, he kicks the bathroom door, then grabs the handle and jerks it open, the gun already pointed at her.

She points her knife to him, a faint purple energy thrumming around it “stay the fuck back” she growls, trying to seem as intimidating as possible

"I have this memory of guns being your weak point, Emilia," he sneers, keeping the gun trained on her face. "Shall we test that?"

Shes hidden herself in the closet. She knows him, she worked with him. She watches through the slits as he moves around the room.

She gets her gun out of the holster, she looks at the pile of clothing nearby. She kneels down and takes a shirt. She cuts it with her blade to create a makeshift bandage and ties it around her waist to stop the bleeding.

"You know," he speaks casually, but in reality, he is listening closly to every shuffle, every movement she makes. "I really thought that you would be different. That you were smarter than this. Yet here I am again, after another person I thought I could trust. Another sniper."

He spins the gun, then points it at the closet door. "What made you leave, hm? Are you too much of a coward to follow through on the mission?"

She hears the gun click. She hesitates for a moment before slowly opening the door.

"Je ne suis pas un lâche. Stark just threw devils durst on me." While being in that closet she realised running from him didn't let her escape the inevitable. She seems to have just...accepted her fate.

"But I am so glad he did that to me...I have a daughter now, she's so beautiful. You don't have to stay with them..."

Marcus blinks, slightly confused. He didn't trust her not to shoot him, so he doesn't lower his gun. "You have a daughter? What do you mean I don't have to stay with them?"

She steps closer to him, hands raised. "Can I show you a photo? Hydra isn't everything. There's things you're missing out on"

She grabs her purse and slides a photo out, "See..? I would never have had this if I stayed with Hydra..."

He knew better. She was a traitor. He should shoot her now for trying to sway him. Yet at the end of the day, she was his friend and he was only human. He steps forward slowly, lowering the gun and looking at the photo.

"She's so beautiful...you could have something like this. Wouldn't you love that instead of being experimented on all day?" She hands him the photo, "You can have someone to come home to"

"I'm not an asset, I don't get experimented on-" he sighs, crushing the photo into a fist. "I do not have family or friends outside of Hydra and if I did, then staying in Hydra would be the best way to keep them safe."

She stares at the crushed photo. "Espèce de connard fini!" She snatches the photo and tries to smoothen it out. "You have friends out of Hydra! You have me! Emelia!"

She shoves him, "How dare you?!"

He stumbles back just slightly, making no move to stop her. If any of the other officer's saw him, they'd say he'd gone soft. Perhaps he had.

Valerie cries out in pain when her weight shifts back to her legs, but she doesn't fall. She's trained for this. "If it means escaping you." Probably....? Maybe...?

Tears start streaming as Valerie runs. She's half as fast as normal.

Shes hidden herself in the closet. She knows him, she worked with him. She watches through the slits as he moves around the room.

She gets her gun out of the holster, she looks at the pile of clothing nearby. She kneels down and takes a shirt. She cuts it with her blade to create a makeshift bandage and ties it around her waist to stop the bleeding.

"You know," he speaks casually, but in reality, he is listening closly to every shuffle, every movement she makes. "I really thought that you would be different. That you were smarter than this. Yet here I am again, after another person I thought I could trust. Another sniper."

He spins the gun, then points it at the closet door. "What made you leave, hm? Are you too much of a coward to follow through on the mission?"

She hears the gun click. She hesitates for a moment before slowly opening the door.

She grabs her purse and slides a photo out, "See..? I would never have had this if I stayed with Hydra..."

Still, she hides. She won't go back there, not when she's finally remembering that she's a person. She slides a hand to her gun, willing it not to shake. She can't afford to be afraid of Marcus, not now.

"Come on, puppet. Don't make this hurt more than it has to." Marcus isn't begging, he's promising pain beyond imagination. "Don't be stupid. You know you can't hide forever, and you know you can't kill me. So just give in."

Valerie is fully determined to kill him. She slips out into the same room, gun aimed at his chest. "Who says i cant kill you?" She asks, then curses herself for letting the taunting get to her and have her come out.

"You. I can recognize patterns." He lowers his gun, pointing it at the floor, making it clear he isn't trying to shoot her at the moment. "Go on then. Prove me wrong. Shoot me. Kill me right now. "

"I killed my handler before you," Valerie points out, gun still aiming at his chest. So why isn't she shooting him right now, with the opportunity plainly presented?

"To state it simply, because I fixed that. You shouldn't have been capable of killing your handler, but unfortunately for them, they sucked." He sets the gun back into the holster. "It's been wired into you. Can you feel it? You can't pull that trigger. Can you?"

Valerie bites back the instinctive urge to defend her previous handler, a long outdated instinct but not one she's ever been able to quite get rid of. Instead, she tries to pull the trigger and realises her brain won't make her hand move. "What did you do to me?"

"I fixed you. Isn't it delightful?" He laughs, as if changing the way someone's brain was wired was amusing. Some light entertainment. He steps closer. "You cut your hair. Again."

Emilia is curled up in the bath tub, bathroom door locked, trying to steady her panicked breathing as much as possible so he doesn’t hear her. Her tears silently fall down her face as she listens, every sound causing her to flinch

"Your mother misses you-" he taunts, pacing back and forth across the room, listening for any sign of movement. Of course, he suspected the closed door, but there was almost a closet and he wasn't going to make any rash movements. "Come back like a good little girl."

Emilia’s grips her knife in her hand and sniffles back her cries. She adjusts herself in the bathtub, bringing her knees closer to her chest. She can’t get caught. Her eyes start to glow, ready to defend herself if he finds her

Au: Alternate universe where instead of Weapon X, HYDRA took Logan and put Adamantium around his bones. This is him escaping after they had put the metal on his bones.

Everything ached. Everything felt like it was being weighed down by what they had put inside him. He could hear the clinking and clattering of the metal against metal now in his body, clinging to his bones for the life of him. Or, whatever life he had left.

His healing factor made it so he wasn't dying, but god it felt like it. All his flesh felt like it was rotting and healing all at the same, which it was. He had been running for so long, and this guy just wouldn't get off his tail. Everything hurt.. he needed to stop...

He sat in the room just across from Marcus. Collapsed by the wall, panting as lightly as he could. He knew the other could still hear him, but he was still trying.

When he called out, that's when Logan thought fuck it. Guess he's gonna have to fight.

"The fuck you calling little, bub."

He dragged his heavy body up the wall to a stand, waiting for the other to come through the doorway to the room.

Marcus can hear the scrape as Logan drags himself to his feet. He can hear the exausted pants. He knows he has an advantage here, yet he also knows better than to celebrate before victory was lying at his feet.

Stepping forward, he kicks the latch, breaking it and slamming the door open. In a moment, he has his aim locked on Logan's chest. He knew if he had to kill the asset, he had one shot. One try. He had to hit the heart.

"On your knees, hands behind your head. Now."

Petrov raises his eyebrows, his gaze flickering up around the edges of the room. Eventually, it settles for a moment on Alexi before pulling away as if he'd seen nothing. He spins his gun and tucks it back into it's holster, making a show of being unarmed.

"Come on, kitty, you'll only face more hatred out in the world."

Alexi hissed and backed away.

“No no nonono no more needles…. Por favor, deja de hacerme daño….”

Alexi was shaking. He hated how Petrov made him feel small.

"We don't beg for things without getting on our knees first," Petrov mocks. Saying 'we' was intentional, despite the fact that he rarely, if ever got on his knees. He certantly didn't do the begging. "Get down here, kitty."

Alexi glared at him.

Then he shifted into human form, still on the wardrobe.

“Am I gonna be punished for running?” He said quietly, fidgeting with his tail.

"Yes." There was no point in lying to the asset. "But it will not be as bad if I do not have to drag you back."

“So if I just… give in, it won’t be as bad?”

Alexi curled up tighter.

"That's right." It wasn't like it was his job, but he could tell them to make up some worse punishment and claim that they didn't do it because Alexi gave in.

Alexi hesitated, then shifted into cub form again and jumped onto Petrov’s shoulder.

He curled up there like a kit seeking warmth.

Petrov reaches up, giving Alexi a couple scratches before pulling him down into his arms. He needed to have a secure grasp on the asset. He can't resist giving more pets, though. He didn't dislike Alexi and he did like cats.

No one leaves HYDRA. Once you join, you're in for life. But maybe they forgot that when they decided to run. To leave. To think they could find another life outside that which had created them. Given them all of of their talents. Selfish fool.

Perhaps one should take it as a complement that HYDRA did not send an assit. Did not send a weapon. They sent a monster. A hunter that will track his prey down without rest. Without pause. Until they are to exhausted to keep running. Until they have realized that hiding only gives him time to catch up.

Officer Marcus Petrov stands in a dirty, 'empty' hotel room, holding a loaded gun, pointed up at the ceiling. He stands at ease, as if the other person in here does not want him dead. Perhaps because he knows they are tired. Run down. That he is their living nightmare.

"Come out little fox. You can't keep running forever."

Valerie hadn't expected to escape Hydra twice, but then again, she didn't think they'd ever catch her again. She supposes it makes sense in a twisted way that they send Marcus after her, given he's the one who brought her back and twisted her mind back up into an asset's.

Still, she hides. She won't go back there, not when she's finally remembering that she's a person. She slides a hand to her gun, willing it not to shake. She can't afford to be afraid of Marcus, not now.

"Come on, puppet. Don't make this hurt more than it has to." Marcus isn't begging, he's promising pain beyond imagination. "Don't be stupid. You know you can't hide forever, and you know you can't kill me. So just give in."

Valerie is fully determined to kill him. She slips out into the same room, gun aimed at his chest. "Who says i cant kill you?" She asks, then curses herself for letting the taunting get to her and have her come out.

"You. I can recognize patterns." He lowers his gun, pointing it at the floor, making it clear he isn't trying to shoot her at the moment. "Go on then. Prove me wrong. Shoot me. Kill me right now. "

"I killed my handler before you," Valerie points out, gun still aiming at his chest. So why isn't she shooting him right now, with the opportunity plainly presented?

"To state it simply, because I fixed that. You shouldn't have been capable of killing your handler, but unfortunately for them, they sucked." He sets the gun back into the holster. "It's been wired into you. Can you feel it? You can't pull that trigger. Can you?"

Valerie bites back the instinctive urge to defend her previous handler, a long outdated instinct but not one she's ever been able to quite get rid of. Instead, she tries to pull the trigger and realises her brain won't make her hand move. "What did you do to me?"

"I fixed you. Isn't it delightful?" He laughs, as if changing the way someone's brain was wired was amusing. Some light entertainment. He steps closer. "You cut your hair. Again."

Valerie snarls and steps back, away from him. Despite knowing she cant fire it, she hasn't dropped the gun. "I dont like it long," she snaps back at him.

"Could have told me that," he replies as if that would have changed anything he did. He takes another step forward, keeping the distance close. "Now what were you afraid of? Was it the whip? No...that was my rat...hm.."

Valeire glares, "Yes, because you really encouraged your assets to have personal preferences," she snaps. She wants to step back again but cant without getting too close to the wall. "Im not afraid of you," she lies.

"Is that so?" He pulls his necklace with his whistle out from under his shirt. "I just remembered. It's this, isn't it?"

Valerie's eyes immediately drop to the whistle. Fuck, he wasn't... wrong. She was afraid of that. It fucking hurt. Still, she can handle the pain, right? "No.."

He brings the whistle to his mouth, not blowing quite yet. Giving her one more chance. "Knees. Now."

Valerie glowers at him, accepting that this si going to hurt, but she won't let him take her again. "Fuck. You."

He blows the whistle, using it as a distraction instead of the main weapon. He slams his forearm against her throat, pushing her back against the wall.

Valerie cries out in pain at the dual attack, but she still manages to fight back against him. Don't give in, don't give in-

He clamps the whistle with his teeth, freeing his other hand to defend against her attacks as he continued to push against her throat, trying to cut off her oxygen.

Valerie struggles,trying her best to ignore the pain caused by the whistle. She kicks his leg out from under him, snapping the knee back even as she cries out.

He is forced to release his pressure against her throat so as to catch himself. Even so, he lands on his knee. It was odd. For just a moment, her superior was kneeling before her. Then he pulls himself to his feet, hiding the pain in his leg behind a snarl.

He pulls the whip from his belt, lashing it out at her.

Valerie blinks, faltering for just a moment when he ends up on his knees before her. It really was odd. It's also why she doesn't quite manage to dodge the whip lash, and it wraps around her wrist and she winces, pulling back.

Marcus jerks on the whip, attempting to pull her forward as he catches his breath, the whistling momentarly stopping. His free hand drops to his gun, but he doesn't draw it yet.

Valerie stumbles a little and then pulls back again, grabbing the whip with her free hand to unwind it. The wrist it was wrapped around is bloody and raw.

He jerks the whip back, lashing it across her, aiming for her face.

Valerie barely dodges, the whip landing against the side of her cheek. "Leave me alone!"

"I don't think so." He draws his gun now, aiming for her leg as he pulls the trigger.

"Why can't you just let me live?" She sounds almost desperate, and doesn't manage to dodge the bullet. She stumbles.

"Live?" He cocks the gun again, firing at her other leg. "You is weapon. You live to serve. Don't forget that you are disposable. Fight too much and my next bullet finds your heart."

"If I was so disposable, you wouldn't have gone to so much effort to find me," Valerie snaps, then crumples. She can fight through a bullet wound, but in both legs...

"Ugh." He reaims, this time pointing at her face. "I never did like how mouthy you were. I could just tell them you were too strong. They would never have to know."

Valerie scoffs. "Please. You're not going to do that. That'd make them think you failed." Her eyes follow the gun.

"You forget-" his finger tightens around the trigger "-I don't like you. Bitch."

"You don't like any assets," Valerie points out. She knows he might shoot her, but she'd rather die still fighting.

"Your point?" He laughs. It feels out of place. He doesn't look amused. "And you are wrong. I do like some of the assets. I like the nice obedient ones who don't go out of their way to make my life hard."

Valerie rolls her eyes. "Yes, yes. I was a great asset. That's why im such a pain in your ass now."

He turns the safety back on and shoves his gun back into it's holster. "You were, hm? Then why are you running?"

Shes hidden herself in the closet. She knows him, she worked with him. She watches through the slits as he moves around the room.

She gets her gun out of the holster, she looks at the pile of clothing nearby. She kneels down and takes a shirt. She cuts it with her blade to create a makeshift bandage and ties it around her waist to stop the bleeding.

"You know," he speaks casually, but in reality, he is listening closly to every shuffle, every movement she makes. "I really thought that you would be different. That you were smarter than this. Yet here I am again, after another person I thought I could trust. Another sniper."

He spins the gun, then points it at the closet door. "What made you leave, hm? Are you too much of a coward to follow through on the mission?"

Au: Alternate universe where instead of Weapon X, HYDRA took Logan and put Adamantium around his bones. This is him escaping after they had put the metal on his bones.

Everything ached. Everything felt like it was being weighed down by what they had put inside him. He could hear the clinking and clattering of the metal against metal now in his body, clinging to his bones for the life of him. Or, whatever life he had left.

His healing factor made it so he wasn't dying, but god it felt like it. All his flesh felt like it was rotting and healing all at the same, which it was. He had been running for so long, and this guy just wouldn't get off his tail. Everything hurt.. he needed to stop...

He sat in the room just across from Marcus. Collapsed by the wall, panting as lightly as he could. He knew the other could still hear him, but he was still trying.

When he called out, that's when Logan thought fuck it. Guess he's gonna have to fight.

"The fuck you calling little, bub."

He dragged his heavy body up the wall to a stand, waiting for the other to come through the doorway to the room.
