Lost Hat (A short comic)
This was the scene that inspired me to draw the comic. The idea has been in my head since June, after the release of the Good Omens episodes. It went lying in my folders for a while, but I’m glad to finally have it finished! Thank you for reading :)

This is the first Good Omens post to actually make me laugh out loud.
anyways the version of much ado about nothing starring catherine tate and david tennant as beatrice and benedick is a Classic. david tennant’s benedick is FULL chaotic dumbass, and catherine tate’s beatrice is past being full of rage and is completely done with everyone from the very beginning. plus, they just work off each other so well.
not to mention the costumes and props. benedick in drag? BENEDICK IN JORTS AND A SUPERMAN SHIRT? beatrice wearing a suit? beatrice swaggering around with a beer in her hand, while benedick sips on pink, fruity cocktails? benedick writing his love song to beatrice on one of those stupid little electric keyboards? unparalleled artistry.

oh absolutely ICONIC. and the fact that he gives his whole monologue after whilst covered in paint. “love me? [beat, looks down at his paint covered self] why?” truly how shakespeare intended it

I know there’s that post going around about Crowley hugging Aziraphale after they switch back to their bodies, but also consider: Aziraphale doesn’t even consider that he wouldn’t have a trial. After all, Crowley had one and it’s hell.
So one day he asks Crowley, “Oh by the way, what was my trial like? If, as you say, they won’t leave us alone forever, I’ll have to speak to Gabriel again and I should know what was said. Yours was awful of course, I don’t know what I expected, they’re demons after all…”
And Crowley, with the same tone of voice in which he reminded Aziraphale that his bookshop had burnt down, says, “Angel… You didn’t have a trial.”

Wait so he’s Crawly in snake form and Crowley in biped form—with his black wings. And Neil Gaiman said it’s not that all demons have black wings, it’s that Crowley specifically chose them. Likes them.
He renamed himself. Hell called him Crawly. Hell shaped themselves into lizards and frogs and flies and everything that crawls around in the muck. But he doesn’t see himself that way, he doesn’t want to be that way. He got to earth, saw those strutting, shiny, loud, unignorable birds, looked at his beautiful crow-colored wings and named himself after the crows.
Which means that when he tried to sign his name on hell’s receipt for the Antichrist and they rejected it for his “real” name, they were rejecting his self conception—refusing to acknowledge him as someone who could define himself. You don’t get to be a thing that soars, a thing that gets seen and heard, a thing of the earth. You’re a crawling thing from the underworld like the rest of us. You don’t get to escape that. But of course he does.
That’s the thing he keeps trying to teach Aziraphale. You don’t have to be who they tell you to be. You don’t have to accept Heaven’s understanding of you as actual truth. You get to pick! That’s the great joy of living on earth! And Aziraphale does choose some things. He decides he likes blue and tartan and bow ties, decides he likes sushi and old books and Regency silver snuffboxes. But he never crosses the line of plausible deniability, never gets too far away from what he thinks he’s supposed to be, and that bothers Crowley to no end.
