about me:

Hello! I'm Allison (she/her); a US-based writer, mom and lifelong nerd. I love stories of all kinds, though fantasy and sci-fi are my favorites. I also enjoy historical fiction as well as the occasional mystery or romance. Here on Tumblr I'm open to ask games and things of that sort, so feel free to tag me if you'd like!

my work:

As a writer, my main focus is currently poetry, though I am starting to branch out into flash fiction as well. (I do have 11,000 words of a story that I started one fateful Nanowrimo, but I got a bit stuck- maybe being here will help me with that!)

Common themes in my writing include: mental health, relationships, aspects of everyday life, classic literature and mythology/folklore, fantasy and some science fiction.

There's no nice way to put this, I think I need help again. My abuser called me on Friday and left me so shaken I struggled to function for hours, and I'm still struggling even now on Sunday. Food isn't happening for me right now and I don't know what else to do than this. I'm so sorry for asking this. If you can't or don't want to help that's more than okay, you don't even have to reblog this. I know I've been asking for help so much but I'm hoping that things will get better this month. God I hope things will get better this month.

EMERGENCY WRITING COMMISSIONS!!

I already have made several posts about this, and I know it can get annoying. But it occurs to me that I haven’t gone into detail about why I am opening commissions, how much they are, etc. So, I will take the opportunity here.

Without getting too personal, I have a chaotic home life that is detrimental to my mental health. I was forced to move away from my hometown, and I really didn’t want to. I miss my home constantly, and it’s not for lack of trying to make new memories here. I am miles away from people I consider family too. 

I want to move back home, set up my own life away from the chaos. In order I need to do that, I need to save up whatever money I can get. 

I am also still studying to attain my bachelor’s degree in marketing, and that costs a lot of money. I also have to account for rent, vet bills for my dog, we had an infestation of ants and I’m going to need multiple visits from an exterminator  to get this under control. 

In short, I am opening up writing commissions because I have expenses to cover and I eventually want to move back home for the sake of my mental health.

UPDATE 8/28/23:

I have been putting in applications for housing, and those applications have a fee. I’m still taking writing commissions and am now planning to be back home by the 3rd of October. I am still taking writing commissions, but if you want to help with moving fees and bills, you can donate to my Ko-Fi. 

You can also apply for commissions on Ko-Fi too.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. I feel so blessed and lucky to have your support during this stressful time, and I really hope that one day I can make it up to you all.

UPDATE: 9/2/23:

As of yesterday, I have received a notice from my landlord that I have 30 days to vacate my home as they want to sell the property. I am still putting in applications for different housing, but I have no luck so far. 

If you want to help me, you can ask for a commission or donate to my ko-fi. The money will go towards application fees, college fees, and moving fees. As well as rent for the new place, deposits, etc. 

Please help out if you are able.
