Ted has some game, a little charm if he does try. He just doesn’t know if this was the right time to be flirting with anyone, but he should have some fun with this too. “You can get a lot of things with a charismatic attitude, which goes hand-in-hand with charm. I’m used to saying what makes people happy, I’ve gotten good at public speaking for that reason.” The man admits as he sets the vehicle into autopilot so he can turn to look at Lisa again. “Yeah, he can get on my nerves sometimes, but he’s pretty great. He likes the whole GOLD aesthetic.”

“I agree, although I like to think of them as one skill; makes it seem like a lot less work.” She jokes lightly as her form takes a more lazy position in the seat. “Telling people what they want to hear has been a key part of my life and is actually a great survival tool. Even if what I say is a lie 90% of the time.” Lisa states with a shrug as her gaze moves from him to the view outside. That was until his next statement causing her gaze to return to him with an added light smirk to present upon her lips. “I doubt he likes the color for the same reason I do. Its pretty but toxic...like me.”

”I don’t know, never learned everyone’s name.” RJ doesn’t know all of the agents that were with the organization, but he worries that maybe he was just paranoid. “I do need a few breaths. I could be seeing things, but there’s someone that used to be in my life that I’m trying to avoid. He has people at his disposal so I was worried one of them was after me.”

“Believe me I understand more than I usually admit to. Though in my case it was my father.” She pauses for a moment to gauge just how deep she wanted to be involved in this situation. Though she saw her reputation as her first line of defense, she knew what he must be feeling and she couldn’t turn her back on him. “If your anything like me you also haven’t really eaten or slept much within the past week right?”

While it has been a while for him since flirting with ANYONE, Ted thinks that this would be good for him. “You think so?” He usually doesn’t be so open about charming others, trying to be more subtle about it. He takes off into the sky, and looks over at her. “Trust me no one could be more annoying than my best friend, Michael. I’m sure you’re fine.” He says with a playful wink before turning back to look at where they’re going, plugging in the coordinates.

“Of course, you seem as though you’d be a natural at it if you just gave it a try. Believe me its actually a handy skill to have in a fight. Charm can be used on anyone at any time.” To Lisa, it was all about using one’s skills of empathy to sense the tone and use that knowledge to change the tone to what you want it to be. Of course it was fake, simply an act about 90% of the time, but once in a blue moon even she couldn’t fully resist making it true. “Your best friend, really? Well see now it sounds like a challenge.” She says with a playful smirk and light side glance.

Once Bobby reaches the location, he takes out a guard sneakily before he’s sneaking inside using the man’s security tag. He doesn’t know where the woman is, but he’s sure they’ll come across each other. The building is a large one, not entirely what he expected as he makes his way through the halls. Maybe he entered from the wrong side? He turns around a corner, not seeing anyone else there so that was reassuring. Now to find those kids.

Lisa returns to her body and lures the guard into her cell; him a knee to the groin she takes his weapons and keys. Knowing the other guards wouldn’t hesitate to hit the kill switch on the power collars fixed upon the other mutants Lisa removes a small throwing knife she kept hidden in the lining of her boot. Hesitating for a moment preparing herself for the possible pain, she then uses her phasing ability to reach into the wall and cut the power. Which in turn deactivated the collars and opened all cell doors, the rooms and halls now lit only by the low glow of the emergency lights.

The boy is racing around the corner much too fast, the worry of someone following him. He doesn’t know if they’re really there, but a face looking too familiar everywhere he goes makes him a little nervous. His head turned behind him as RJ ran, only to nearly bump into someone once turning back to look where he’s going as he went around said corner. “I’m sorry! I thought someone was following me. Are you alright?”

“I’m fine, but you look like you need to take a few deep breaths.” She responds. Her tone calm and unaffected in hopes it would influence him to calm down as well. Lisa glances around him to survey the scene, not immediately spotting anyone suspicious. “Who did you think was after you anyway?”

It was a strange legacy — having settled for this when the scarab didn’t want to work for him. He was alright with that, but he steps over toward his flying vehicle. He doesn’t use this often these days, but it is the best thing he has ever built from scratch. “Very funny. We can both charm the guards.” He hasn’t flirted in years, at least that’s what it felt like — he wouldn’t know what he’s doing. “I wouldn’t mind the company.”

Lisa enjoyed the flirty banter despite her deep fear of getting too involved. She was still human after all and therefore she did still crave connection; even if it was mostly one sided. “That would be very interesting to see.” Since meeting Ted she has found herself actually respecting him and started to find him to be quite funny. A smirk appears on her lips as she follows him over to the vehicle. “Looks cozy. I’ll try not to annoy you too much before we get there, but if I do... just remember you’re doing it for the kids and the other freaks.” She happily teases him.

Bobby could work with her, and keep a distance. He can respect that some people prefer to just focus on the job. “How sweet of you. If we hurt them you know how they’ll continue to view us.” This was his personal opinions at least, but he can at least appreciate the woman for trying. Which is good enough for him as he moves out of the building he was in. He starts creating an ice trail to travel to the location, letting it melt behind him. He’s not in his crystalline form yet though — that can wait until he gets there.

Lisa laughs lightly and gives a careless shrug and responds with her own personal opinion. “The ones who truly hate us will always hate us. Putting them into diabetic shock with sweet words wont change that.” Even she hated how cynical her experiences had made her but so far they haven’t been proven wrong. “See you there.” Lisa remarks as she sees him begin to skate off, feeling a bit of nostalgia as her astral self goes to check out the outside of the building as she waits for him to arrive.

Ted never needed anything more than his technology and acrobatics to get through a mission. He was good at what he does. “It’s a mantle kind of passed down. I’m the second one, and there’s another after me — a kid I kind of mentor a little.” The man admits as he comes back out in the blue suit. Which still fits as he was thankful for that part. “I’m all set here. I’ll head out now.”

“Hey it beats any kind of hand-me-down I ever got.” Lisa teases him again as she waits. Her gaze is drawn back to him once the suit is on causing an intrigued smile to appear on her face. “Looks good. Maybe you should be the one charming the guard instead of me.” She teased once again before adding. “So should I just meet you there and let you have a quiet solo flight?”

”I see.” Bobby takes note of it, but this should be interesting. He was mostly doing this for the children anyway, not really into supporting a villain. He stands by what he thinks though, that people are more complex than that. “Sometimes you have to have a little fun. We don’t want anyone getting killed, but we have to show these people that they can’t just keep taking kids or people just because they’re different.”

Satisfied that she was able to push him away just enough that she was hopeful he wouldn’t want to get much closer to her; yet not enough to make him back out on the plan. “I promise I’ll try my best not shoot anyone or break anyone’s heart...well not literally at least. I will have to charm the guard just a bit. Though I can’t guarantee they won’t accidentally get hit by their own ‘friendly fire’.”

”Why? You make it sound like that would be such a bad thing.” If they are going to be spending time together then he thinks at least knowing the answer to that question would be fair. “It would be too flashy wouldn’t it for such a mission? I used to wear it — called myself the BLUE BEETLE. It’s been a few months since I’ve put it on, but I don’t know maybe this could be the perfect chance to bring it back.” His health was better, at least for now.

“Trusting people isn’t my strong suit.” She answers with a casual shrug of her shoulders as though it was a non-important fact. “Blue Beetle huh? Where did you get that name from?” It was then that Lisa remembered this guy wasn’t a meta or mutant; momentarily causing a slight hint of concern for his safety to shoot through her. “You sure you have enough tech to get you through the fun ahead?”

“You don’t want anyone knowing you do HEROIC things is that it?” Bobby was intrigued by that, but he has known people like that before. He was smart enough to know the world isn’t black and white. Not everyone will be completely good or all bad — it’s more complicated than that. It just depends what you use your viewpoints for, that’s what makes a difference. “I won’t be complaining if you don’t.”

“To quote my brother, hero aint on my resume. I just find it amusing to play pretend once in a while.” She skillfully lies with an amused smirk playing upon her lips. In reality she was immensely proud of her brother’s heroic acts closer to the end of his life. Although she always knew him as her personal hero that wasn’t a persona they both hid from the world and often even themselves. “Well then, I won’t hold back on having fun with it.”

“I appreciate that.” Bobby answers with a laugh, but he truly was going to be taking this very seriously. He always does when hostages are in question or someone being held against their will. This situation doesn’t feel fair, and he’s taking off his normal clothes to reveal the x-men uniform underneath. No better time than now. “Alright, I’ll keep that in mind while I make my way inside.” He can handle some bullets, and can even make some ice golems to help them out

“No problem. I can be a nice girl from time to time, just as long as no one expects it of me. That would get really boring after a while.” She wondered if anyone knew that this was the type of thing she did all the time since they got back to 2019. She had been nervous enough asking for help and never wanted to show she was just as human as the next person. The trust issues ran deep within her and she never wanted to give anyone ammunition to use against her. “Sounds good. I’ll try to leave some of the fun for you, but no promises.”

“So you’re going to be like my astral guide?” Ted considers this very much a first, but he was alright with putting his life on the line. “I’m a member of the Justice League — danger is sort of our thing.” He sighs as he pulls out his old suit — looking at it for a moment before deciding to skip it for now since that’s now very stealth like sneaking around in all blue. “Alright, having an address does make this a lot easier I’ll admit. I’m about ready here on my end.”

“Being on the same page as you would be far more dangerous for me than it would be for you. But sure, astral guide sounds cool enough. She teases lightly as she glides about the room. That is until she catches a glimpse at the blue suit, prompting her to give a hum of curiosity and ask. “That looks interesting. Why put it away?”
