As a fan of Stephen Amell, his silence on what is currently happening frankly hurts. It hurts when someone you look up to doesn't care about basic human rights. This is the time to be as loud as you can against the injustice, oppression and systemic racism that black people face and have lived with their whole life.
You are a 39 years old man, no one should have to shoulder the burden of educating you, certainly not a black women. The idea that you still need to educate yourself on this issue reeks of your privilege in itself. While we're on that, you don't need to have a doctorate in black history to understand how their lives are being violated. Was that knee on George Floyd's neck not enough to invoke your rage??
It doesn't take much to show support. And you certainly have enough people in your social circle to tell you how to do it. The least you could have done is share donation links to support the movement and bail out protestors. You could have raised black voices and promoted black activists on your platform. But you did none of that. You are displaying a total lack of character when it matters the most.
This ain't it, Stephen Amell.
