i am completely normal about the pitt.

The thing that really gets me about so many Pitt fans is just their refusal to acknowledge that many show writers have a story they want to tell and a path to that story and that not every show is meant to be 18 seasons long with poorly made spin-offs and an increasingly absurd plot. It's been very clear since the beginning that The Pitt is about Robby and his mental health journey; that is the story that the writers are going to tell and that's why they're not even entertaining the idea of a night shift spin-off, because it would just be a cash grab with no purpose behind it.

A show that sticks to its plans and tells the story it wants to tell without getting lost in the weeds is a story that ends up becoming timeless and beloved. Shows that keep going past their actual plans and have to keep reaching to make new content become parodies of themselves and their audience.

Something I find quite interesting about Dr. Samira Mohan's character is the name itself. Mohan (either a reference to Krishna (my GOAT) or to mean enchanting) is more often a first name than last. And when it does act as an inherited name (usually in south India), it is the father's first name becoming the daughters middle name, usually for it to be a last name (from my knowledge), there has to have been a conscious effort at removing the inherited last name and changing Mohan to be that. I know caste and its corresponding issues are barely known outside of India, and people here (general public) don't really like talking about it unless its to dunk on the reservation system, but its still such a fascinating thing to ponder upon when looking at a character. Who removed it? Was it her? After reading up on the system in the religion and the awful manner in which it affects people? Was it her father? Or was it generations even before that? How does she feel carrying her fathers name with her everyday, being Dr. Mohan, not Dr. Samira?

Also while we are on the topic of names, Samira is much more common in the north, your south names are the ones that are more likely to be like, Sristuti, Padmasri, stuff like that. And yeah I can admit that more recently with so much migration happening within the country, trends in terms of names seem to be merging culturaly here, but that certainly wasn't the case what 30 years ago?

So like how did a Tamilian Samira Mohan come to be?
