There are no good or bad days.
What gets you up every morning?
For the majority of people the answer is work. We all got a job to do right?, whether it’s going to work or waking up the kids, making breakfast, going to school, or running errands. Strangely enough when you don’t have a job to do the chances of you getting up become even lower. You feel drained, tired, or just plain lazy since you never get “time to yourself” right?
There is no excitement in a life lived for the sake of work. When you have to get yourself out of bed groaning and moaning you’ve already lost. Even someone who is optimistic of the work is merely one level above defeated, complacent.
Your reason for waking up every morning has to be something that causes your body to go “hey, it’s a new day let’s go let’s go let’s go!” Not something that requires an alarm clock for you to be present.
The energy we wake with is the energy we carry throughout the day. Just as breakfast is the most important meal of the day so too is the mindset of the morning soul. When you wake up knowing that today is a day to grow and experience NEW things you embrace uncertainty.
Imagine if you wake up in the morning and your routine is shower, dress, coffee, work. On the shower you got soap in your eye, while getting dressed you find yourself looking for a decently clean shirt cause you didn’t do laundry, and to top it off you spilled coffee in your pants and had to change again. Your routine went south at every turn and that frustrated you and because of that you become easily triggered the rest of the day because in your mind now lies the belief “that today is just not your day” …
Yet if you had embraced that uncertainty, you would have accepted these events as part of your new experience of growth for today, even if spilling the coffee makes you go “ah shit” you would allow the experience to come and go as that is the mindset you brought today.
Don’t let your routine become mechanical, anyone can project happiness with a fake smile. The beggining of the day will always reflect the end. Take care to wake up with the same energy you feed your passions with. That is how we break free of this mechanical daily existence, be exited about a new day.
There is no such thing as a good or bad day, their all just days. The idea of good or bad is completely dependent on the attitude you walked into this day with.
