âDon't Buy Where You Can't Workâ was a campaign that encouraged Black consumers to boycott businesses that didn't hire Black people. The campaign took place in the 1930s during the Great Depression.Â
Pass it on. Let us follow the words of Dr. King: In his speech at Holt Street Baptist Church in Montgomery on December 5, 1955, King urged people to keep boycotting until their goals were met.
The Montgomery bus boycott was a 381-day protest that began in December 1955 and ended in December 1956. It was a response to racial segregation on the Montgomery, Alabama bus system. The boycott was a defining moment of the civil rights movement in the United States.Â
Segregation in Alabama did not end due to the "goodness" of White people in government...Black people refused to support the buses by walking. They protested with their feet!!! I
I'm sure many of our ancestors would roll over in their graves seeing Black people running around supporting an overt racist (Blacks for trump), Black people not voting at all, and Black people walking around without knowing what's going on in the country and communities they reside in. Elections have consequences. Not voting or voting against your best interest thinking you're cute is appalling.
"The most violent element in society is ignorance." Emma Goldman.
This is not a joke, this is WWIII.
This is not a joke, this is WWIII, and i know one of my generation's coping mechanisms for all the shit we see is to joke or wave it off, but this is crossing a line
WWIII is literally at our doorstep, and if you could read ahead, you could get slightly informed, and be encouraged to inform yourself further on these local news, instead of joking on tiktok
middleeastmatters Heartbreaking footage of families weeping and grieving has emerged from Kahrizak Forensics Medical Center in Tehran, showing rows of bodies of people killed in the ongoing state crackdown on protesters.
Distressd families can be seen weeping on the ground and even passing out as they try to identify their loved ones.
In one video, numbers under photos of victims appear on a screen, indicating that the number of bodies only at at center may be as high as 250.
Many bodies, still in black body bags, lie across the forensic centerâs grounds, with only some identified by their loved ones. Other videos show bodies inside a warehouse and being unloaded from trucks, highlighting the scale of the violence.
Iranian authorities are ramping up their response to the anti-regime protests, which have spread across every province in Iran.
Human rights organizations report that hundreds have been killed in just a few days, and other estimates from across the country put the toll as high as 2,000 people.
The country has been in a total media blackout, making documentation of deaths much more difficult. Iranian authorities have a history of ramping up violence during internet shutdowns.

TikTok is most likely under metas umbrella now, maybe not publicly but privately. with that being said changes are being made to the platform, For instance videos about American politics that promote leftist ideology in any small amount are being flagged as âpossibly incorrectâ and the platform encourages people to not share the content, they also only allow you to share to one person at a time. Less people are having their voices heard. The government is trying to convince us we have free speech but we are very much under their censorship.
Content has been removed, taken down, flagged, etc. content that criticizes the government, content that SPECIFICALLY criticizes Trump and his little band of oligarchs. People speaking out about his corruption are being banned on TikTok. I donât use twitter but Iâve heard the same is happening over there and has been for a while, same with facebook (feel free to fact check me on that and let me know, itâs possible Iâm wrong)
Never take anything at face value.
To put it plainly we are progressing to becoming the type of dystopian society we read in books as children. The kind of society that we told ourselves was too outlandish or exaggerated to ever exist.
Dangerous times to be living in folks, remember to do research of your own, donât take news at face value, Stand up for one another, protect your neighbors, protect yourself đ
You matter and this time will pass, we will not let our voices be silenced đ
As long as we have hope they cannot win đ thatâs like in every book about tyrannical governments in fact Iâm pretty sure thereâs a quote almost exactly like that from the hunger games.
Have a good day yall I hope it gets better đ
If anyone's planning on going to a No Kings march, remember to take ear protection, face masks, and goggles (preferably swim goggles). You never know what ICE will do!
