problematic alter culture is

we are white. the body is white, so our whole system is also white. we may have introjects sourced from characters or notable figures who aren't white, but that doesn't make the alters non-white.

we have a good few alters sourced from some anime and idol groups. usually, they introduce themselves as their sources' name and then we work on finding a suitable English name for them.

a few either have an English name that can reference their source name or something they are known for, and some already have English names in source due to being mixed or raised in an English speaking country.

most of our alters in that group are chill with going by their English names but one specific alter is really mad about it and keeps insisting he wants to go by his source name. he doesn't want an English name at all. he gets so upset when I refer to him outside of the headspace by the English name. I want to respect his autonomy and everything, but I can't publicly call him what he wants to be called.

dunno if that's really super problematic but lmk maybe what your thoughts on this are. especially want opinions from POC systems and specifically Asian systems. if anyone sees this.

just aide in finding a name he's comfortable with that isn't closed ^^

Updates

Hi everyone! I'm Harper, one of the new hosts of the Retro Corner.

I'd like to say I have some pretty major updates to share as an explaination as to why we suddenly vanished (This will be reblogged to all our blogs).

TWs for this post are small mentions of our abuse and police/CPS.

We are currently in the process of moving away from our abusive mother. We're no longer in her house, and awaiting our next birthday to legally move out. Police have been involved on account of us reporting her near the start of this month, and CPS are also getting involved, however we have no updates on it.

We are currently living with our partner, and feel much safer than before. We're still getting used to it all. :) Have a swell day, folks
