Diabolik Lovers:

My favourite anime male characters from each “Dere” type

Let’s start with the:

TSUNDERE

Sata Kyuoya (Ookami shojo to kuro ouji)

Tsunderes are always either cold or harsh towards their love interest. But there are times when they switch from the “tough persona” into an adorable lover but it doesn’t last for long since they don’t know how to express their feelings.

YANDERE

Azumaya Junta (Dakaretai Otoko 1-i ni Odosarete)

Yanderes always appear as sweet on the outside. But when it comes to their love interest they become very obsessive - they are willing to kill each of their rivals or isolate their love interest so s/he will never leave them.

DANDERE

Shin-Ah (Akatsuki no Yona)

Danderes are very shy and quiet. But whenever they are near their lover, they can get out of their shell and become more open.

KUUDERE

Hei (Darker than Black)

Kuuderes are emotionless and cold. They feel most comfortable being all alone and being around many people is not something for them. They aren’t talkative... like at all. But that doesn’t mean they can’t be caring too.

OUJIDERE

Ayato Sakamaki (Diabolik Lovers)

Oujideres are characters having the Prince complex. They feel as if they are above everyone and that other people are their servants or even slaves. Their word is an order and nobody can go against it. But they can be charming too... rare but not impossible to happen.

KAMIDERE

Light Yagami (Death Note)

The Kamidere type is often mistaken for the Oujidere/Himedere type. The kamideres have God/Messiah complex. They think of themselves as saviours and God-like creatures. They are “always right” and nobody is allowed to oppose them.

My Favourite Manga/Manhwa Works

If you are searching for some good manga/manhwa, here is my list of favourite ones which I was/still am obssessed with

True Beauty

That is a manhwa which you would never regret reading! It tells the story of a young teenage girl who is struggling with her appearence - she is being called ugly and there are not many people accepting her, even in her own family! So one day she discovers something which saves her - make-up! She learns how to use it to the extent she becomes totally unrecognizable. Then two boys appear in her life and they change it completely. This manhwa is very important to me since as a girl, I am struggling with my appearence too... but in the end you meet people who will see your TRUE BEAUTY and accept you for who you are!

BJ Alex

Sooo... this manhwa is a BL one... yes I love yaoi as you can see. Well here you see the story of a young boy who falls in love... with a camboy who is known by the alias BJ Alex. But little does he know, his love interst studies in the same school and he is a member of the student council! Their story is very entertaining to read and I enjoyed it alot! I recommend it.

Killing Stalking

Aaand another great manhwa work. If you aren’t into thrillers, then I don’t think you would like it. But in case you are, then IT IS PERFECT FOR YOU! So the story is about a serial killer called Sangwoo and his hostage Yoon Bum. This work gives a clear image of what Stokholm syndrome really is. Each character is interesting and unique on his/her own way. But the thing which makes this manhwa so catching are its main characters. Both of them are young men who had been through a lot in their lives and those events are the reason for their twisted personalities. But no matter how brutally Sangwoo treated Yoon Bum in the beginning, it doesn’t change the fact he healed his hostage’s wounds and took care of him. They even built a strong emotional dependence for one another. So their story makes us think - are there evil people for sure? Or are they just marked forever by their past hardships?  

Wolf Girl and Black Prince

In my opinion, the manga is much better than the actual anime. In case you have never seen the anime, it is about a schoolgirl called Erika who once she becomes a high-schooler, she does her best to fit in. She starts hanging out with two girls whom she doesn’t share any similar interests with. She even lies to them and gets involved with the ‘’Black Prince’’ Kyouya only to impress them. And that’s how Erika and Kyouya’s relationship begins - not as a prince and his princess, but as a Wolf Girl and a Black Prince. 

Honey Come Honey

Have you ever met anyone who looks completely different from how they actually are? Well Honey Come Honey’s Kumagaya-kun is a great example for that. With his tall and muscular figure, he is being feared by everyone and called The Brutal Grizzly. But one day the schoolgirl Hanasaki discovers his secret which brings them even closer. She realizes that he doesn’t match even a little the discription made by the other students. So never trust rumours! Because by trusting them you can miss the chance to meet amazing people.

In Honor of Kyoto Animation

After these horrifying news, I’ve decided to do a recap on KyoAni’s main titles from their foundation until now as a homage for its staff, especially the victims and their families. We don’t know where the studio will be going from now, but we do know of its journey until the present moment. There were hits and there were misses, but it overall deserves appreciation now more than ever.

Favourite Anime Characters Based on Real People

Kenshin Himura ( Rurouni Kenshin)

Yes, the author of this anime/manga discovered and used the story of a Japanese samurai of the late Edo period called Kawakami Gensai.

Victor Nikiforov ( Yuri On Ice )

The funny thing here is that there was a hockey player called Victor Nikiforov, but the author of Yuri On Ice said in an interview that she created her character imagining the actor John Cameron Mitchael. So our boy is based on two people.

Osamu Dazai ( Bungou Stray Dogs )

He was named after the real-life Japanese author called Osamu Dazai. Their appearences are pretty much alike but that is all my opinion. 

 Sebastian Michaelis ( Black Butler )

The french author Sébastien Michaelis who lived during the late 16th and early 17th centuries was the inspiration for creating Sebastian. Sébastien was the author of Histoire admirable de la possession et conversion d'une penitente (1612), which includes a classification of demons. 

Spike Spiegel ( Cowboy Bebop )

The Japanese actor Yusaku Matsuda was the inspiration of Spike Spiegel. He was known for his stylish, cool-guy ambiance and iconic action roles.

Nobunaga Oda ( Sengoku Night Blood )

You probably know but if you don’t... well there actually existed a person called Nobunaga Oda and he was a powerful feudal lord of Japan in the late 16th century who attempted to unify Japan during the late SENGOKU period. But if you are like me who also played the game Ikemen Sengoku... well you must have started fangirling once you saw his name. Just look at him ⬇️

Alucard ( Hellsing )

This one here is very obvious but I will say it too. Alucard was based on the Romanian monarch Vlad Tepes aka Dracula.

So today was the day I watched Boku No Hero Academia for the first time... It’s just that I didn’t think it was interesting before because I have never been into films or comics about superheroes. Well, but once I watched some episodes of the anime, I fell in love with its story about a boy who had no powers/talent at all turning into a real hero! Yeah, there are a couple of anime series like that and the story may be a big cliche to you but the progress the protagonist makes with each episode on his way to achieve his dream is enjoyable to see.

The characters are well-stylised and their powers are incredible. Each one of them (the characters) has a unique personality, which makes the whole thing so catching and funny to watch.

So if you are a person like me, who hasn’t watched BNHA yet, what are you doing?! Go and watch it! You won’t regret it.
