Okay I continue to be really bad about posting here and there are a lot of things I meant to post and haven't but anyway today I participated again in the Blendermania3d Hour of Power challenge and the theme was "mushroom monster" and here's what I came up with.

Oh dang I have been neglecting this blog (again); I've been meaning to post every Thursday my daily sketches from the past week but I have absolutely not been doing that. I mean, I've been doing the daily sketches; I just haven't been doing the weekly posts. So here are the sketches from the past week.

I may later try to catch up and post previous weeks' worth of sketches. And there are other things too I've been meaning to post. I am bad at social media.

Well heck I've still been doing daily sketches and posting them to @@daily-sketch-group and I've been meaning to post the sketches for the previous week here on my main blog every Thursday and I absolutely have not been doing that.

So, okay, I'm not going to post them all at once, but here are my daily sketches for February 12-18; I'll try to remember to post the rest one week at a time until I'm caught up.

Participated again today in the @sequentialartistsworkshop Friday Night Comics workshop. This week the workshop was hosted by Lillie J. Harris and the prompt was to draw a comic about death...

Participated again in the @sequentialartistsworkshop Friday Night Comics workshop tonight, this week hosted by Cooklin. The prompt was basically to draw a comic about something you love (using some symbol for love other than floating hearts or hearts in the eyes), and… I guess I got really personal this week.

Participated again today in the @sequentialartistsworkshop Friday Night Comics workshop, hosted this week by Jennifer Hayden. The theme was to basically draw a comic telling an emotionally charged story about cooking or food. (I guess nausea counts as an emotion?)

It should be noted that the events depicted here took place many years ago and I have not tried sea urchins since; it is entirely possible my tastes have changed and I might feel differently about them now.

So I participated again today in the Blendermania3D "Hour of Power" challenge; the theme today was "Smartwatch".

I admit I wasn't really feeling it today, not because of the theme or anything but just because I'm under a lot of stress for various (mostly financial) reasons, so I maybe didn't focus as much as I otherwise would have and what I did was really simple, but eh, it is what it is.

Participated again today in the Sequential Artists Workshop Friday Night Comics workshop, hosted this week by Cole Pauls. The theme this week was pretty broad, "Truth", and so here's what I ended up with...

Okay I have not posted much this week (except for the daily sketches I have been posting to @@daily-sketch-group), but that is (at least partly) because I was focused on trying to finish a project... I'm taking a game design class from the Center for Learning through Games and Simulations at Central Michigan University, and the first week's assignment was, as a worldbuilding exercise to map out an area for Parsely, a tabletop RPG meant to imitate text adventure games. I... got a little carried away and decided to create a playable text adventure game instead, although that's something I haven't done in literal decades and I had to reteach myself how to do it.

Anyway, it was created in a rush over the course of a week so it's not great, but it... exists. I'm going to keep refining it so it's in better shape by the end of the class, but if you want to try playing it you can download it from here:

So today I participated once again in the @sequentialartistsworkshop Friday Night Comics workshop. This week it was hosted by Jon Claytor, and the idea was to draw a comic showing an interaction between two characters representing different voices in your head. So i chose a discussion between my self-loathing and my creative impulse.

And yes, I realize the hairstyle of the character representing my creative impulse changes completely between panels 1 and 2 and also his eyebrows disappear. Oops. There's limited time to make these comics during the workshop, and apparently consistency is among the things that suffers for it.

(Also, I couldn't use my usual comic font because I was using a laptop I don't normally use and I realized too late that I didn't have that font installed on it and that in fact it had a very limited font selection. Whoops.)

Oh, right, before I forget again I should probably post the daily sketches I did last week. Trying to sketch something every day this year; 42 days down, 323 to go...

Whoops... I've still been doing daily sketches and posting them to @@daily-sketch-group, but I've been meaning to post each week on my blog the sketches for that week, and... I forgot to do that last week. So here they are.

Whoops dang I haven't posted here for a few days but anyway I participated once again yesterday in the BlenderMania3D "Hour of Power" challenge and the theme was "brain" and here's what I came up with.

Participated again in the Blendermania3D "Hour of Power" challenge this evening, though I got there late and missed the first fifteen minutes or so. Anyway, the theme was "roller coaster", and I, uh... made this. If I'd had more time, I probably would have added more supports and maybe tried to make some roller coaster cars, but as it is... well, at least I refreshed my memory as to how to do certain things with Blender and got a little more experience.

(Also, yeah, the background doesn't really fit; couldn't find one that did, and of course didn't have time to make my own environment from scratch.)

In my pursuit of trying to post all the old @sequentialartistsworkshop Friday Night Comics I did but never put online before, here's the comic from May 30, 2025. The workshop that week was hosted by Heather Loase, and the theme was to draw a four-panel comic about a pet manipulating you. I drew my parents' chihuahua, Luna… who, sadly, passed away only a week or two after I made this comic.

The art is rough here because I was still —this was only the third comic I drew in Inkscape—and also of course because I am not a very good artist.

Figured I may as well post some more of my work from that pixel art class I'm taking on Udemy (which I really ought to get around to finishing). Here the assignment was to make pixelart images of some real-world objects, so I picked three things that happened to be on or near my computer desk: a camera and tripod, a speaker, and a lamp.
