“Whoa, whoa, easy brodude.” Robert raised his hands at the sudden outburst of the man next to him. James was sleeping laying on his lap and Thomas was next to his brother trying to eat his waffles as he was also startled by the man. Robert was just asking for the sugar, because there was none in his table, but it was obvious that the man was with some issues that had nothing to do with lending sugar or not. “If you don’t mind me saying, you kinda look like shit, especially like someone who might need three or four days of sleep.” He looked at him with a face, hoping he could calm down after his lashing out. Thomas made a face towards his father that was written dad, bad word, and Robert mumbled a sorry. “Eat, champ. I’ll get you sugar from somewhere else.”
Alvaro was prepared to simply gather his things and leave after his... less than charming way of making himself known, to say the least, but it was who he’d lashed out at that caused him to halt, his attention immediately shifting to the children surrounding him. A sudden lapse of sincerity washed over him at the sight, letting out a deep sigh in attempt to discard his temper. If he’d known who his audience was to begin with, there was no way he would have acted the way he had. It was shameful, and he knew that. He was starting to think the others around them did too. “My apologies,” he finally spoke, his eyebrows knitting together for a brief moment before he scratched at the back of his neck. “I didn’t mean to, ah... you know.” Alvaro took note of what he was saying and reached back over to his table, only to return with a handful of packets of sugar. “Yeah, you wouldn’t be the first to say such a thing, I do look and feel like...” he glanced toward the younger boys and placed the sugar down on their table. “that.”
