it was her WEDDING DAY. the day that she would marry the guy that she loved, or at least she thought she loved him. she knew she loved the things that he gave her and she knew that she loved the idea of being married to him. glancing through the gifts, the corners of her lips turned up. a gravy boat. a LIMOGES gravy boat. how was it possible that she was more turned on by this gravy boat than she could ever remember being turned on by barry ? had she ever been turned on by barry ? she turned her head, glancing around the room. eyes fell on a picture of him. “ he looks a little like mr. potato head. ” she thought aloud to herself.

for a moment it felt like the walls were closing in on her. she COULDN’T do this. marriage wasn’t supposed to be about material things. the last thing she wanted was to end up like her parents, and there was a little voice in her head telling her that if she DID go through with the marriage, that was her future. no, she had to go. “ where are you going to go, rachel ? you don’t know anyone in the city. ” she shook her head as she began pacing. monica. she lived in the city right ? she was almost sure of it. oh, but what if she brought up not being invited to the wedding. maybe it would be okay. she just HAD to go. so, she did.

brows drew down as she watched ross enter the central perk with JULIE. her heart sank. she wished she could go back to seeing him the way he was before, monica’s geeky older brother. but now he was ROSS. she drew in a breath, eyes scanning the coffee shop. she easily found the best looking guy there and walked up to him. stripping herself of her apron, she sat down next to him. ‘’ please play a long. ’ she whispered, taking one of his hands in hers. a loud ( fake ) laugh fell from her lips as she looked from the male that was in front of her to ross and julie to see if they were looking.

a sigh fell from her lips when she realized he wasn’t and quickly focused back on the guy in front of her. it was then that an idea occurred to her. glancing from the male to ross and back again, ‘’ okay please don’t bite me or you know, press charges. ’ rachel laughed awkwardly before leaning in to press her lips to his. all she had wanted was to make ross feel jealous, but she actually found herself getting into it. after what felt like several moments, but was probably only a few second, she pulled back. a small smile lit her face. ‘’ hi. ’ her voice was breathless. she turned to look to see if HE had been looking, only to find the place where they had been sitting was filled with other people. the smile that had been on her face fell slightly before she focused her attention back on the male.

she offered him a smile, ‘’ sorry, i just kissed you out of nowhere like that. see that guy that was in here earlier was my ex, well, not really an ex. he was an ex almost but.. ’ she trailed off, drawing in a deep breath to continue her story before a smile lit her face. ‘’ you don’t REALLY want to hear about that do you ? ’

she shook her head, laughter falling from her lips. ‘’ i just really hope you’re not a serial killer or something, i mean you’re NOT a serial killer right ? what am i saying of course you’re not. you’re probably one of those studious guys that come here to read a book or WRITE a book and you probably won’t peace and quiet and i’m ruining it, aren’t i ? ’ rachel stood up, putting her apron back on. ‘’ i’ll get you a refill to apologize for using you to make someone jealous and kissing you out of nowhere like that. uhm, what were you you know what i’ll just bring you whatever is hottest. on the house. ’
