do people still talk about the heteronormative interpretation of the weird route here on tumblr? i see it every other day on twitter, because chapter 5 kicked up the discourse again. seeing so much of it inspired me to Finally organize my thoughts on why i dont think it's a good reading of the route w/ both the current state of the game and how the fandom portrays it.

anyway, with that i arranged a whole diagram explaining my thought process, but im kind of deathly afraid to post it to twitter atm because of how intense people are over there about adamantly insisting that the player goes out of their way to Male-Code Kris. i'll share it soon, because i think people (on twitter especially) need to see a comprehensive explanation of a different perspective... but i suppose i just am curious to know how people on here feel about it, at least as of recently, if chapter 5 changed how you feel about the weird route and any relationship it has to heteronormativity. (genuinely Hate to bring that relatively contained discourse back over here but i feel like people on tumblr are a bit more tame about it(?) (?) i hope? iirc? please)

big thanks for the variety of perspectives so far! even though i dont agree with everyone it's a lot less stressful than arguing in twitter replies. i might reword/extend some parts of my diagram after reading everyone's comments because i want to make sure i cover all my bases, but at the end of the day this is an interpretation that Greatly varies from person to person based on things like background, identity, and relationship to the game itself. i dont expect everyone to agree so much as i ask people to consider the implications of whatever they end up saying about kris in particular <- statement Very much intended for the twitter crowd primarily. because they will say anything
