Hello, a magnificent owner of this blog! How about a headcannon where Aizawa reacting to Eri calling him a father and his s/o a mother?^^
[as promised i didn’t have a stroke and click the wrong buttons this time lol I was so excited to receive this request because as everyone’s know dadzawa is my life!!!]
When your husband first carried the small child through the door of your shared home you were floored. Neither of you had once ever talked about being parents, nor were you prepared to take on that responsibility. For your husband this wasn’t anything new, he was used to dealing with children daily as a teacher. But for you? You had no idea how to handle children, let alone how to be a mother.
For the first few weeks Eri wouldn’t as much as acknowledge you, she constantly hiding behind your husbands leg when you approached. It made you feel terrible. Some nights you’d cry to your husband, voicing your concerns to the half sleeping man beside you.
“Am I doing something wrong? I don’t want her to feel uncomfortable around me.“
“She’s been through a lot. Don’t act so surprised she doesn’t want anything to do with you. You’re a stranger in her eyes Y/N. Now stop cry and go to bed.”
Eventually as time began to pass, your husband was right. The small girl began to open herself slowly but surely up to you. It was a slow tender process, but by the time she’s been there three months she felt comfortable enough to come to you for assistance and help. Though Eri wasn’t the only one who over time became more comfortable. The more the small girl came to you, the more confident you became in caring for her.
There were still times she preferred Shouta over you however. For things such as bedtime and nightmares, she always preferred your husbands time and attention over yours. Though you couldn’t blame her. Shouta could be the most tender and loving soul when it came down to these types of situations. Even for yourself, when you’d have nightmares prior to your being together, the first person you’d seek was him.
By the time Eri was there five months she became comfortable enough with you to start spending frequent time with you. The first time she ever came down stairs while you were home alone together was when you were practicing piano. It had taken a lot of convincing, but as someone who was highly into the arts as you, you’d convinced your husband to purchase a beautiful grand piano. It took up the majority of your living room though, but it made you happy so he didn’t mind. You fingers delicately danced over the smooth ivory keys as the melody to Memory from the musical cats flooded through the house. In all honesty you jumped a little when the small child popped up at your side, little fingers clutching the edge of the piano as she asked “what’s this?”
You smiled and explained the instrument to the girl, her eyes wide with curiosity as she gently outreached her hand and let her finger press softly against a key. Her eyes looked up at yours waiting for approval before she hit another and another, she soon enough pressing multiple keys at once. It sounded horrendous, but you were happy to see she enjoyed it. Eventually she looked up from the keys, pointing at the sheet music on the piano stand. “What is that?”
“It’s sheet music, it tells me which notes to press, how hard to press them, and how fast I have to press them” you explained watching as she squinted.
“What are notes? They look like specs.”
You couldn’t help but laugh, lifting the girl up under the arms and setting her on your lap. You were pleasantly shocked when she didn’t deny you, or fight to get out of your hold. “I can teach you if you want? It’s really fun”
The girl gave you a hum and nodded her head, she resting the back of it against your chest with a sigh. You could feel your chest flutter as she leant herself into you, her little hands moving to curl around your arm as you explained the basics of the instrument to her. It was the first time she’d ever been so close to you. You were ecstatic to know the small girl was finally accepting you.
By the time Eri had been with you and Shouta seven months, she wa seemingly an entirely new child. The three of you spent quite a bit of time together now as a family. Most days while Shouta was at work, while you weren’t free lancing or composing your own pieces, you’d spend the day with Eri. You’d make her breakfast every morning, Apple cinnamon pancakes were her favorites. For lunch you’d make her jelly sandwiches, she wasn’t fond of the peanut butter aspect, but much like your husband she seemed to love jelly. You’d even found her eating it from the jar once as a snack. And when dinner rolled around, she’d help you make it so when the love of your life arrived home you could all eat together as a family.
You smiled as you watched the little girl stand on the stool you’d set in the kitchen for her, laughing as she struggled to mix the bowl of cookie dough the two of you had started making. She had decided she wanted cookies, and you unable to ever say no to that cute little face and those sweet little ruby eyes, were happy to oblige. You moved to help stir the batter when she swatted your hands away claiming she could do it herself. Impressed with her determination, you just held your hands up and backed away. “Okay okay, lil miss sassy pants. I’ll let you do it yourself”
She was incredibly happy when your lover arrived home, she rushing to the front door to greet him. Her little arms wrapped around his legs she grinning up at him, waiting happily for him to pick her up. Surprisingly your husband hoisted the child to his waist, flat lips pressing against her forehead as he carried her back towards the kitchen. For the first time in seven months you all felt like a little family.
The three of you ate dinner and cleaned up before settling into the couch once everything was done. Eri begged the two of you to watch a movie with her. She snuggled up across the two of your laps, she nibbling on the cookies you had made together earlier. “Daddy have a cookie! Mommy and i made them special from scratch!” She smiled reaching a her little hand up to Shoutas mouth waving the cooking against his lips.
Your heart stopped in your chest as you looked down at the girl in your lap. Mommy? Daddy? You couldn’t help the smile that pulled at your lips, tears threatening to pour from the edges of your eyes. Seven months ago you would have freaked out to hear this little girl call you mommy. Today, it was the happiest moment of your life. You gave a wide grin to your husband, hand seeking his out, providing it a squeeze. You could see the edges of his own mouth pull up at the thought of being a father, he squeezing your hand back. “Is thst so? Well then I guess it’s only logical if i try one, since you two went through the effort to make them.” He took the cookie from the child’s hand and ate it, hand moving from yours to rub against the top of the child’s head “thank you Eri, that was very thoughtful of you.”
“What about mommy?! Are you going to say thank you to her she helped!” The child hummed, wiggling her body across both of your laps to grin up at you “mommy ate some of the cookie dough though”
You smiled and wrapped your arms around the little girl kissing her cheeks and coating her entire face and neck in kisses, your heart soaring as she squealed in delight. “You little tattle tale! Don’t you go telling daddy on me lil missy.”
Your husband gave an amused hum, the smile still present on his lips as he leaned himself into your gravitational pull, planting a kiss to your mouth. “Thank you for the cookies, mommy”
You smiled a blush creeping onto your cheeks as your arms secured around YOUR daughter, happily resting your chin on top of her head. “You’re very welcome daddy.”
Eri gave a grin, it stretching from ear to ear as she wiggled from your hold setting herself up happily between you and Shouta. “I love you mommy, I love you daddy.” She grinned, looking between both of you.
“We love you too.” You both hummed in unison, taking turns planting a kiss to the child’s head.
By the time Eri was here one year, you and Shouta had decided that maybe having another child wouldn’t be so bad. You two loved being parents and you loved your little girl.
