Anti-city people are just plain fascinating to me
"Based in Christ" is funny, do you think Jesus was going to Ye Olde Costco?
having a pet kinda awesome wdym i got a little scoundrel running around named after the guy in dracula who eats bugs
my scoundrel eats bugs too. nominative determinism
the people have asked to see the scoundrel and who am i to deny you

Lesbian
Ladies first, I guess (also not really, I'm just going by the abbreviation and it starts with L lol)
today at chipotle i only got rice and beans in my burrito and when i got to the front he asked what was in it and i said "rice and beans" and he said "just rice and beans?" and i said "yep" and he looked confused and then charged me four dollars and thirty six cents. life hack!
tried it again and youre not gonna believe it. 3 dollars and 81 cents. in 6 months theyll be giving it to me for free
i lack the energy for outrage so my brain works like this and it makes everyone else mad
it’s so special to me that so much of fan culture is textual analysis for the love of the game. like thank god there are people in my phone who are also thinking about this thing i love so much that they are writing transformative fiction as character studies and setting clips of the show to music with theme-relevant lyrics and writing long text posts analyzing every line of dialogue like!! yay!!!
have you ever suddenly + involuntarily lost consciousness

Weirdly enough, the only person I've seen mention this is Amir Talai, but in the case of Fem!Alastor: during his lifetime (early 20th century), monocles were a big women's fashion thing. It was a symbol of feminist counterculture, and particularly popular among flappers and lesbians.
Not as blatant as Angel wearing a skirt, but...
Right????
Why is no one else talking about this. His bobcut was a feminine hairstyle woman got as a sign of liberation and saying "fuck you" to beauty standard, and the monocle was popular among flappers and lesbians.
Not only that but speakeasy's were common queer spaces back then and he was definitely at a speakeasy in his backstory flashback considering this was during the Prohibition and there were both white and black people in that room and these were one of the few places they mingled together freely.
And he is so fucking gender fluid. The way he flows between masculine and feminine in both appearance and body-language is seamless. Like you said, its not as blatant as Angel wearing a skirt, but he in no way buys into traditional gender norms.
Also, considering he gets along with women so much more than men, idk why he would make himself a purely masculine figure especially in Hell where he can do whatever the fuck he wants and look however the fuck he wants.
(Also pointing out that Alastor has shown no signs of being homophobic and while being queer back then wasn't considered the norm or openly accepted, it was a lot more tolerated up until the Lavender Scare in the 1950's; AND the French Quarter also had its own queer communities around his time (it was also mostly inhabited by people of color). Also him telling Angel that having sex with him is "never going to happen," is not homophobia, that's not wanting to have sex with someone, and honestly falls more in line with him being asexual than anything else).
Alastor is a queer icon and I will die on this hill.
Cannot stand the trend of censoring any and all words that describe concepts that might make you go :( especially when the censoring is done in that quarter-assed way that's just 'did a lil scribble over a vowel so you know that I know this word describes a no-no."
I'm not even going to be vague about what sparked this. Do not fucking censor the word 'stole.' I'm at my fucking limit.
Who does this benefit. Who is made safer by this. Whose life is made better by this. Who is out there going "Wow I sure am glad I didn't have to see that word without it scribbled on a little. That really reduced the emotional impact of reading that word." Can I kill them?
everyone shut da fuck up this is the only thing that matters
dude, this is really scary, and liminal as well. It's like the bathrooms
coffeeshops used to give you a free drink for your birthday and now they just text you like "Hey bestie! Since you're a CoffeePoints™ rewards™ member, order yourself a birthday treat right now in our app™ and you will receive two (2) extra CoffeePoints™ with your purchase!! That's two points closer to a 1500 CoffeePoints™ reward™: your choice of one (1) disposable napkin*!!!"

Putting the term "Catholic guilt" on a high shelf where fandom can't reach it until everyone learns how to identify characters who are very very clearly coded as Protestant.
now i need to know what the different denominations of guilt are like.
From my own limited experience (please somebody feel free to correct me if you have more insight):
Catholic guilt: You should feel guilty because you were born wrong. Everything you do is tainted by the fact that you were the one to do it. Pour out your heart for the poor and needy (it's still not enough). We must all spend our whole lives repenting.
Protestant guilt: You should be happy! You should be productive! You should be perfectly at peace! Why aren't you smiling? Don't you love God? Don't you trust God? Where's your faith?
Evangelical guilt: You sat six feet apart from a member of the opposite sex, and that's basically the same thing as touching them which is basically the same thing as premarital sex. Your purity has been ruined and you need to recommit yourself to God and be saved.
Mormon guilt: Boys and girls need to meet at precisely 6 o'clock once a week for one hour of supervised socializing, during which they will stay exactly 3 1/2 feet apart from each other, no more and no less. If you screw this up or have any impure thoughts or behaviors during this scheduled activity you need to confess it to your men's or your women's group and your bishop and your father and your dog
they killed him for this
