Hello PHM people of tumblr- left feeling empty after reading/watching PHM? Need something to fill the void? This is my personal plea to go read Dungeon Crawler Carl! This series was suggested to me after reading PHM and needing a similar Rocky/Grace friendship. While tonally different I have become obsessed by DCC and I think many of you would enjoy it too. Join us, we have:

People thrown into a televised alien gameshow where they must survive by any means and try not to die in flashy ways!

The MC is a man who runs around half naked in heart boxers with his Ex-Gf’s talking Cat who shoots lasers from her eyes!

Similar style to Andy Weir’s humor, but a bit more in your face punchy! Expect lots of satire, dry humor, and scathing commentary on society!

Don’t be fooled by Carl’s manly man demeanor, that man is kind, smart, and complex but also a bit dense and pathetic at times. We LOVE IT!

A fuck ton of found family- MC (Carl) and his Cat (Princess Donut) have beautiful friendship! Other crawlers you meet become adopted into this family and there’s so many side characters to fall in love with!

Complex and morally grey characters with histories of trauma! Also well written women! (The books have more female characters as story progresses)

It’s an Anti-capitalist and anti-corporation revolutionary’s tale at its core! Books get progressively more unhinged and get even better as they go on!

Isn’t afraid to tackle political topics unlike Mr. Weir (no shade)- tackles genocide, colonization, and how do we survive under the violence of capitalism?

Persistence of humanity! Hope is a powerful tool to resistance! How do we protect our loved ones in the face of overwhelming oppression?

The gameshow is run by a progressively insane Artificial Intelligence who has a thing for Carl’s feet. Also canon one sided toxic yaoi w Carl

A little fanart of @gallifreyasgardmiddle-earth 's fanfic of Carl carrying the dozed-off AI to bed (sleeping for the first time in your existence must feel crazy) I've been recently enjoying many of their DCC fics, particularly their fic "You're Only Human", where the System AI creates a human body for himself and discovers all the wonderful (and disastrous) things about being human. Highly recommend reading their work.

My fan designs of the Dungeon Crawler Carl Characters if they were part of an animated show! I started with Carl and Donut, but due to requests I did Mongo, Mordecai, Zev, and Odette as well! And don't worry, Pony is coming, I thought he deserved his own character sheet. These designs are meant to be animation-friendly, so they aren't as detailed as a typical design. I'm also working on an animation of Princess Donut which is in the works (it's her ranting about the nipple ring)! I'll post here when I'm finished with it.
