Do not cite the deep canon to me, witch. I was there when it was collectively ignored.
So my bike was stolen from our garage last night. My beloved, custom, carbon fiber, most-expensive-thing-I-own-aside-from-my-car bike. I just found it listed on FB marketplace. Shit is about to go down.
You take the time to look up the specs and even with that knowledge post it for an insulting low price?? Also this asshole had to have posted it within an hour or two of stealing in. Unreal.
Just making shit up left and right. Iāve called the police and theyāre useless so Iāve called reliable backup: climber friends. So far I have four men and two vehicles that will be joining B and I at the rendezvous. Bike heist is a go.
@pastelsailorr That is absolutely whatās going to happen.
Bike heist was a success. I met the thief, asked him to take it for a test ride, and then justā¦rode away. lol.
At which point, the boys all got out of their cars where they were waiting to have a chat with the guy. B met me with our car two blocks away, we put the bike in the back, and returned to Safeway to see how the boys were faring. Thief had already skedaddled, but theyād told him to never step foot on my property again and he apologized and booked it. So we had an adrenaline-fueled morning that nonetheless reinforced that weāve moved to a place with a great community of friends willing to drop everything on a Saturday morning to help us, and the guys claimed it was the most fun theyād had in months.

the best thing about this is that when thereās plenty of resources, domesticated cats will naturally form colonies. in these colonies female cats raise their kittens communally with their kin. so you get situations where moms will raise kittens with their daughters from a previous litter, cats from the same litter will raise kittens together, etc. so not only does this little old kitty see her human as family, she is also excited to help her with her kitten.

What people think this means āIāll use this as an excuse to do whatever I want all day instead of committing to other things that need to be doneā
What it actually means āIāll be obsessively checking the clock all day because Iām constantly worried Iāll be late if I donāt. I also worry that if I commit to doing anything else important that day itāll distract me from the time and Iāll miss the appointment. This will be a day filled with anxiety and in no way relaxing until the appointment is over with"

Little quirks martial artist sometimes do
For any writers or people just curious here are a few quirks martial artist occasionally do. By somebody who's spent the majority of their life in a gym/dojo
Some of them make sound effects. I have an instructor and a few fellow students that make sound effects when practicing techniques. ( ex. "Pow!" "Boom!") most of the time they don't even realize they're doing it
Some will exhale through their mouth when practicing techniques or kata (in real life situation this is to prevent getting the air knocked out of you) so theirs this little hissing like sound that you hear when practicing sometimes.
This is something that happened to me personally, idk if others have this problem. I started out as a kid (in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) so when your in the kids class they sometimes replace the names of techniques/positions with names to help the kids remember. Like we called side control alligator control, etc. So as I got older and graduated the adult class they'd say the actual name and I would sometimes get confused but then they'd demonstrate" and I'd be like "oh yeah the paintbrush!" I mostly grew out of that but not entirely.
That's all I can think of for now. I hope this is helpful for someone.
Difference between different Martial Art's
This is just a basic summary of styles that I know, have had a taste of, or have a basic knowledge of.
Karate: you probably have at least one dojo in your town that teaches karate, probably one of the most well known Martial arts. Karate is of Japanese origin and mostly consists of learning strikes (punching, kicking, knees, elbows, etc.) Runs off a belt system.
Krav maga: you may have heard of it in passing, but I wouldn't say it's something that people have a basic understanding of like they do of more widely known Martial arts. Krav maga is of Israeli origin (everyone in the IDF is required to learn it) it was invented in the 1930s and was used to help the Jewish community defend itself from nazi militia. Its something you would use if you were mugged in the street. It consists of learning how to defend yourself from stuff like being grabbed by the wrist, being pulled into a bear hug, being choked, being held at gunpoint, etc. Unlike other Martial arts where they'll teach you stuff to do in real life and then teach you rules in case you decide to compete in tournaments krav maga is just street fighting. Some places will go by a belt system but the place I go to goes by levels. Their might be more but those are the only two I've heard of.
Traditional jiu-jitsu: or known as jiu-jitsu or japenese jiu-jitsu. Jiu-jitsu is ground fighting, I've only taken a few classes of this but I'm kind of riding off my BJJ knowledge here.
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu: BJJ is a modified version of traditional jiu-jitsu. It was invented by the Gracie family in the 1920s. It's a style that was made to even the playing field for shorter people so that height didn't matter (this can be attributed to the fact that one of the founders was quite short for a fighter). It's been compared to chess because it requires strategical thinking (like thinking so many moves ahead of your opponent) BJJ mostly consists of headlocks, armbars, throws, etc. BJJ runs off a belt system but it's a little different from others. For starters black is not the highest belt but red is but that requires years of dedication to it. Another thing is that you have to be 16 before you can get your blue belt, after that your allowed to start learning more "risky" moves like ankle locks.
That's all I feel like I know enough about to write about. If theirs something I got wrong or something I should add just let me know.
