Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
This year got me like
Pans for personal work space. Get 'em at the dollar store!
The year so far
We are 3 weeks in down in GA. I have a co-taught class again, which is great. My co-teacher and I are just crazy enough for each other. But our class... My word our class... It is A Day every day! And I'm heading up STEM, the new science standards, and coaching Lego Robotics. Be still my geeky little heart. And bless it, too.
I am and have been all three of these kids.
I’m so mad because this worked

Update: after I reblogged this someone messaged me offering me tickets to the sold out Hausu screening with a Q&A and autograph session with the director
These never work for me, but here’s to trying.
I don’t believe in these things
But last time I reblogged one ten/fifteen minutes later I got a call offering me a job
But I reblogged it because I was waiting on hearing back from the job. So there you go.
Roger is cute.
Don’t let me down, Roger!
Let's do this.

So tired. And thinking of all the stuff I have to do tomorrow makes me more tired. Alright, Monday, do your worst. I've got the coffee to handle this.

Please support Tumblr Teachers’ Classrooms via donations off of their Amazon Wish Lists and/or reblogging this post.
Every year teachers spend on average $500.00 of their own personal income to buy classroom supplies and teaching resources to make sure every kid in their class has what they need and that their classrooms are well-organized and engaging atmospheres where students can learn. If you can, please check out the wishlists and consider donating to a Teacher on Tumblr. If funds are tight, we understand. We hope you will consider reblogging the post in entirety so that the list will get more exposure.
@girlwithalessonplan and I ( @positivelypersistentteach ) worked hard on checking the wishlists and tumblrs to make sure they were active teachers on tumblr with appropriate wishlists. You can find out wishlists below as well. If you have any questions about how this all works, please let us know.
Thank you to all that continue to support teachers and our students.

My wish list is under early childhood! Last year I received a few items and it really helped! Thanks for your support and feel free to share!
Actually have a couple more. Robot on inner upper arm and my youngest kiddos foot/hand prints on my lower inner arms.
Tattoos.
Are any of you teachers heavily tattooed? Or at least have visible tattoos?
I am pretty heavily tattooed. During my student teaching, I wore long sleeves and pants or floor length dresses/skirts with a cardigan everyday. I don’t mind, but I live in Florida so sometimes it’s miserable.
I’m just curious if you are visibly tattooed, what you do during the work week and/or how your school feels about your tattoos!
All my tattoos are on my legs, so I always wore slacks or jeans on jean days. Luckily that school was fine with visible tattoos because I have one on my foot that I didn’t really hide.
The school I was hired at may be a different story. I’ll be finding out soon. If anything, I’ll have to band aid my foot when I wear flats. Usually my slacks are long enough to somewhat cover my foot tattoo if I’m paying attention.
As far as any arm or shoulder tattoos, I got nothing. Good luck!
I have a small tattoo on each worst 8 that are always visible. I also have one between my shoulder blades that is sometimes visible, depending on what I’m wearing. I just got another yesterday on the inside of my arm below my elbow that I can’t cover without long sleeves.
I also live in Florida and WILL NOT wear long sleeves everyday. The tattoos shouldn’t be an issue. As long as they aren’t offensive or inappropriate, you should be fine.
Personally I don’t have any tattoos. However I did have coworkers who did, include one with those sleeve tattoos, so his entire arm arm was covered. A few others did. They didn’t need to cover up during most class days, though he did when disctrict came and when the Governor came. Other than that it was up to him. The science teacher, she had tattoos.
I did however have a classmate who had to always wear pants during student teaching due to tattoos on his leg.
It depends on the school and district. Check out the policy.
I have a tattoo on my arm that my kids can normally see because I roll up my sleeves every day. I don’t show them the whole thing, but only because the tattoo includes a photo of me in a dress with a whiskey bottle (long story).
However, when we were working on personal narratives about our favorite places, I wrote a whole thing about getting my leg tattoo and showed that off pretty proudly.
If you’re not sure, ask the admins and the other teachers at your school. My school made it very clear that nobody cared.
I have one that goes from the top of my foot winding around my leg to mid calf. I don’t usually wear anything other than slacks so I don’t think many of my colleagues or students know about it. I’ve never made a big deal of having it. There are several teachers in my school who have them, so I guess it’s not such a big deal in my school’s culture.
I have two tattoos, one on each forearm. One is a dove near the top and the other is a quote and three doves that takes up all of my inner forearm. I wear short sleeves every day. I teach junior high and the vibe in my district is relaxed regarding tattoos, face piercings, and dyed hair. My department chair has brown hair with purple streaks.
Have one on each wrist and a crescent moon inside my like bicep I guess?? Where it shows under short sleeves sometimes. But I generally wear sleeveless dresses because I teach in Florida and it’s fucking hot. My school doesn’t care. I mean I also dyed my hair blue last year and now it’s purple. Whatever.
I have three on my legs and one on my wrist. The wrist one is visible all the time and I have never had an issue with it other than curiosity from the kids. The ones on my legs show if I wear a dress or capris in the summer, which I do often, you can see them but again I have never had an issue. I am the only teacher with visible tattoos at my school although I know other teachers have them.
I have one on my inner bicep. I don’t worry about hiding it because I am a reading teacher and its from a YA book, so how is that inappropriate? I plan on getting a half sleeve one day after finances stabilize more. My coteacher last year had full sleeves and numerous leg tats. She kept them covered, but I think it’s because it was her first year teaching and she looks young, so she was striving to look as professional as possible. Shame, because I really wanted to see them and there were a ton of Poe tats which could have made cool conversation starters with kids.
I just showed my principal and AP my finished full back piece. I cover in the beginning of the year because I want to be seen for the teacher I am. But it doesn't take long now for those cardigans to come off and my 1/2 sleeve and leg tatts to show. Oo! Tattoo show off!
Reblog this picture of me holding a Family Size box of Honey Nut Cheerios? I’d really appreciate it.
How can I say no to such a great photo and such a polite request?

@mooserattler back on my dash!
Why isn’t this at a million notes, yet, Dante???
I’m not sure. Hey lovely people who have taken me over half way to a cool million! If you’d like to reblog again, I’d love that, if not, I still love you, and hope you’re having a great day. I’m gonna go do some stand up tonight.
Mostly because WHO DAT ❤️
I just left my husband alone with our two children for sixteen days. I was not worried about anything regarding the house, their food, or their wellbeing. I put all the appointments in the family calendar and my husband checked it and kept them. I literally did not worry about them. I missed them, and I was sad that they missed me, but I didn’t worry about them AT ALL. I need to impress upon you all that I missed their company, but was not worried for their welfare.
I also did no meal prep. I don’t even think I went shopping right before I left.
This is not about apples and oranges. This isn’t even about my husband. This is about the fact that this is apparently WEIRD.
Another mum at my daughter’s school is leaving for ten days. She’s taking her youngest (who is a very small baby) and leaving her husband with their two girls. She has been cooking for days preparing freezer meals. She’s panicking and deputizing her six year old to remind him how to make school lunches. AND I AM APPALLED.
A) He is definitely not helpless. (He’s a doctor or something.) What gendered bullshit. B) THAT LITTLE GIRL IS NOT OLD ENOUGH TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HER AND HER SISTER’S WELLBEING. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. C) Why is she married to this person and creating children with him if he’s this big of an idiot?
While she was laughingly recounting this, the other mums were nodding and smiling sympathetically, like oh yes, I too have my caveman at home!! Such managing required! I was the only one who was like “Dude, he’ll be fine. Literally. He will be fine.” I said it a lot. She was not convinced. She kept bringing up her older daughter. She’ll be like a little mum!
NO.
NO NO NO NO.
NO.
Straight women, don’t do this shit. It’s gross. Don’t infantilize your husbands and then expect your daughters to pick up the slack. So fucking gross. So. So. GROSS.
The fact that so many adults think a six year old girl is more capable of learning and performing basic domestic tasks than a grown-ass man says it all, really.
This stuff is so toxic and awful. I told a car full of women one time that I refused to be in another relationship until I met a man who was capable of making his own doctors’ appointments and washing the dishes. They told me I was going to die alone.
Fuck this shit. Don’t enable men’s incompetence and label it cute.
