Alba found himself laughing awkwardly while turning over to where the most recent entrance to Sector oo1 was and waved his hand in a kind of come on motion. In a way, he kind of reminded him of the First Rchimedes.
âŚBefore he went insane and became the Demon King that is. Though wasnât that kind of an insult?
âWell itâs right here. Just follow me.â
âThanks, manâ he sighs, stuffing his hands in his pockets and trotting along behind his considerably shorter counterpart. Though thereâs still a kicked-puppy look about him, he still takes advantage of taking in his surrounding so as to (hopefully) not become as dreadfully lost in the future. âI owe you.â
âAh, whatâs your name, anyway? We never really introduced ourselves.â
  >be a huge badass   >save an entire planet   >defend countless lives at all costs   >be a perfect shot
  >actually be a huge baby

Wolfwood couldnât keep the smile from his face if he tried. If being the keyword here. No, he chuckles to himself and winds an arm over Vashâs hunched shoulders instead, resists the urge to card a hand through those dark locks like he would a child instead of an old ass old fart.Â
âSure, sure, whatever you say, Spiky. Keep tellinâ yourself that and maybe youâll believe it some day.âÂ
Vashâs explanation gives him pause. Not only has he been here before, but upon being sent back everything was the same? Thatâs almost too much to take.
(what the hell awaits him after, then)
(is it just nothingness??)
âI was almost convinced this was purgatory. Huh. That sure is weirdâŚyou sure you arenât running a fever or something?âÂ
He slaps a palm none too gently across Vashâs forehead in the meantime. Heâs soaking up all the uh, âaffectionâ he can.
Vash still has to lean a good bit for Woflwood to be able to comfortably fling his arm around the gunmanâs shoulder; some things really didnât change, it seemed. As much as the both of them huff and puff, he missed this. He missed having a best friend- missed having someone that understood, even if he may be just as stubborn as Vash himself was.
âOw!â he whines, abruptly pulled out of his sappy train of thought at the new stinging sensation on his forehead. âSee? Abuse!â One hand swats Wolfwoodâs offending one away from his face, though he hardly makes a move to completely shrug the priest off.
âDoes this feel dead tâyou, huh?â Vash huffs, flicking Wolfwood across the nose none-too-gently. âThis isnât purgatory, that much I know for sure. Iâm still not entirely sure what this whole thing is, but itâs definitely not the afterlife.â
He still canât shake this uneasy feeling about the whole situation though. If this wasnât the afterlife, it just made Wolfwoodâs being here even more confusing. âIn your case though⌠I donât know. I donât know how this whole thing works. For all I know you could be a zombie trying to trick me right now.â
Pretty and pointless
baddestdangerboy:
Badouâs calmer now, as if reacting to Vashâs own put upon exasperation at his shenanigans. Calm might not be the word for it, actuallyâŚ.accepting? Sassy?
âBzzt. Sucks for you, man, but there ainât pigs in this place. So thereâs no one to turn me in to. And whatâs it to ya? Youâre supposed to give me a stern talking to or kick my ass and then fuck off.â
This is Not how itâs supposed to go and the calm, calculating look in that single green eye of his might be just as bad as the piss pants screaming rage.Â
Arms cross over his chest, tucked up around his torso to protect himself (as well as comfort himself, not that heâd admit it). Because this weirdo was so unpredictable, the rest is up in the air.Â
âIâm sure I could find somewhere,â Vash continues to bluff; it's not as though there's a bounty on his head in this city, after all. Sometimes not-so-gentle hands are needed, though it goes against what he would normally do. Some kids are just more stubborn than others, he knows- especially after some of the company heâs kept.
âJust answer the question, would yaâ kid? Iâm not stupid. Iâve seen kids get dumped here before and not have any way to care for themselves, and no matter how big and bad you want to think you are, youâre still a kid.â
Heâs seen far too many kids, both in this city and back home, without parents, without anyone to care for them, and it makes his heart feel heavy. He knows he canât save everyone- that would be a purely impossible task- but it still weighs heavy on his shoulders when he sees someone in need, especially an orphaned child. Or teen, in this case.
âI donât have parents either, kid. I know what itâs like.â
He hopes at least this one didnât have to see his mother die in front of him.
tolditslant:
Some things, blessedly, just donât change. Time, people, yes. The salt? Never. This manâs luck when it comes to insurance agents? Not so much. Wolfwoodâs not sure he would have been able to take it if that had been the case. He feels a smirk fight its way to the surface, wry as it is.
âCanât say you hadnât earned the ass kicking. Donât tell me you wouldnât have accepted it in my steadâŚâÂ
He knows he would have. For the most part, anyway. And them being angry is better than crying their eyes out.Â
(Nicholas isnât worth it)Â
He shakes his head. Turns away so as to not see the tracks of tears down his friendsâ cheeks. And him without a hanky.
âItâs better that way.â He decides for them. As usual. âAnywayâŚwhat the hell are you doing here, getting caught up in this? You donât have time for that, dumbass.â
âHell no I wouldnât have!â Vash huffs, crossing his arms over his chest. Itâs a lie, he knows, but itâs not like he hasnât told more than he can count in his lifetime. âI wouldâve thrown you to the wolves, you ass! As many times as I had to deal with your abuse--â
Sometimes, he thinks, its okay to bluff. To make yourself look bigger than you feel. At least this time it isnât in a full out fight.
âHmph-- itâs not like I chose to end up here. Did you? Because I didnât. Hell, Iâve already been here before. One night I lay down to go to sleep and when I wake up Iâm in this city again.â
Heâs not thought much of it really; getting back into the swing of things here had been so instantaneous, he hadnât really had a chance to contemplate everything. âBut, you know--,â Vash chews his lip, eyebrows furrowed in thought.
âWhen I got back that first time, it-- it was like nothing had changed? Like I was sucked up one minute, spent all this time here, and then the next it was like I had never left at all. Same motel room, same kids playing outside, same black cat in the window. I donât really know what to make of it.â
baddestdangerboy:
âNot until you know whatâs good for you and fuck oooofff, you giant string bean!â Badou snarls right back, wedging a toe into Vashâs hip warningly as if to remind him how close to his groin this little foot is, how with just a little more of a swing, âere, batter, batter!!Â
His grip tightened in those last remaining seconds before Badou ultimately had no choice but to ease his fingers. Better to get it taken now and try again rather than get his ass shot. He still isnât quite sure this man wonât do it.
âYou sure are a touchy feely fucker. And I figured you were broke so I figured that was better than findinâ out for sure how much lint youâve got in your wallet,â a shrug of narrow shoulders goes here as he just, hangs there. Scowling.
âYou gonna let me go and stop making an eyesore or what?â
Though itâs minuscule (as if he had a fierce look about him to begin with), Vashâs features soften as the cogs of his brain start to whir in another direction. He has a nasty habit of thinking the best of others, no mater what they may do during their lifetimes, and it seems to have tagged along with him from that desert rock.
Regardless, he still turns his body away just a little bit at the smaller boyâs threat. In the back of his mind his praises himself on his own flexibility.
âThen at least tell me why you were aiming to steal it. Did you want to, or did you need to. Unless you want me to haul you to the police station myself.âÂ
His threat is empty, though Vash attempts to keep up his facade. Heâs not about to actually turn the kid in, but he does want to know if the ginger needs help or not.
masochisticyuusha:
Eh? Didnât he live here before? Sure Sector oo1 was fickle, but not to remember the directionâŚ?
âHey, its not that bad. Everyone gets lost after being here for a while. Especially if youâre not used to big cities and instead villages.â Though they should probably hurry up before the entrance disappears again.Â
Head hung in shame, the gunman sighs dejectedly, always one for the over dramatics.Â
âIâm so hopeless at this. Lead the way?â
trashcanmagician:
Yosuke was walking to the deli to pick up a sandwich or something to eat for lunch when he decided check his phone. He pulled it out of his jeans and tried to turn turn it on, but nothing happened. His phones hadnât worked since he had gotten here and it was a bit worrisome to say the least. He stopped in his tracks to try to turn it on again, but still nothing happened. Just as he stopped he immediately felt the collision of someone bumping into him. He turned around to see who it was and he was greeted with the sight of a damn near giant.Â
âWaaaahhh!! Youâre huge dude!!!â
He was so taken aback by the height of this guy that he didnât even hear what had been asked.Â
...Was--- was that all the other really had to say? Most of the time when he bumped into someone around here, it didnât go as- well, not pleasantly, but certainly not very much surprise went into it any more. Itâs not like there werenât even stranger characters milling about the city.
âAh-- yeah, I get that a lot,â he laughs, albeit a bit awkwardly. Itâs not a lie, regardless of the lack of response from most people around here. That, and heâd heard it back home and from children on multiple occasions.Â
âSorry, I really didnât see you down there.â
pridesfoil:
âSo, there are good people here. Thatâs nice to hear..â She was relieved to hear that bit, though there were still criminals running around and that bothered her a bit. After living in a world with little criminal activity for so long she felt a bit unsafe in her new home.Â
âBack at home Iâm just a sister and a daughter to the people that I love.â She would never admit it out loud but she didnât have a huge role in her family. Her parents were proud of Light for his achievements,      âNothing more than that.â
âSometimes, thatâs all you need to be,â Vash hums, a small smile tilting at the corners of his lips.
âIâm starting to get more of that feeling here, though the bonds arenât as deep as back home. Living a simple life-- it sounds good, yaâ know? Donât think that your experiences are worth less than anyone elseâs around here because you havenât been on some great adventure.â
â-- Ah, look at me, getting all philosophical. Sorry about that. I donât even know your name!â
The little green lady had certainly worked herself into a nice little huff, letting the stresses of the week out in her usual way. Which, as her new target seemed to understand, involved lots of screeching at lots of people.
âSorry? Youâre SORRY??â Peridot clenched her little fingerstumps in front of her face like she might explode. âOf course not, if they were THEN I WOULDNâT BE HERE but YOU are!!â
The first sign of any passers by stopping to stare was dissolved with a snarl from the Gem, though the worst of the anger had been dealt with. âYou were saying something before, right?? Just what did you want, anyway?â
At least, even in her anger, she was still perceptive.
This isnât the first time heâs been bombarded by the rage of a tiny woman; heâd had one following him around for what felt like ever, after all, and although her bouts of anger had nothing on even this one explosion from his new green counterpart, they were still just as scary. For as often as he was framed as a womanizer, he found most women a bit terrifying, more than anything.
Itâs really no surprise for him to shrink a bit, to deflate from his impressive near 7â˛.Â
âI-- I was going to ask if you needed any help. You were grumbling and seemed agitated about something and I figured you might be lost,â he offers (though in reality, if she were lost he would probably be the opposite of help), â--Or, or hungry, or something.â
tabellariussix:
âYeah, kinda. Pretty sure.â He replied, but to be honestâhe wasnât really so sure, even though he definitely sounded like itâbut hey, it canât be hard to find his way back to sector one, but first, a place to eat⌠Well, he remembered one place. That fast food place he went once.
âThereâs a fast food store close from here. Just follow my lead and weâll be there in no time.â The courier said, moving a few steps and hoping the other would follow.
If anyone had any complaints, it certainly wasnât Vash at the moment. Honestly at this point he didnât care what it was as long as it was food (plus, it wasnât exactly like he hadnât had worse; he can hardly believe anything in a city this size could be as bad as some of the things he had to endure in the middle of the desert).
The gunman trots along behind his new companion, hardly weary of who he could even possibly be. He thinks he can handle just about any character he comes by anymore. âLead the way! Mr.-- uh. You never told me your name?â

Wolfwood remains silent for a smidgen too long, gaze settled on Vash from behind dark sunglasses. Thereâs so many complicated parts of this that need to be addressed, in various parts, and he isnât quite sure which one to settle with first.
âYou looked better as a blonde. Even a bottle one.â
Likely story. Thatâs simple enough, dodging it at first, thatâs a lesson he must have picked up from you, Vash. Fingers toy with lint in his pockets as he mulls over what to say.
âOf course he did. That crybaby brat can at least follow directions, unlike some people. But when he gets his own ideasâŚyouâd better watch out.âÂ
He hems and haws over what else to say. Vash looks distressed, tears in his eyes, all swollen, but what else is new. Makes him want to punch the guy. And noogie him.
âYou should have told them I went on a very long trip,â the priest finally decides.
âLike they would have believed that,â Vash sniffs, wiping at one of his eyes. The initial bout of tears have ceased, even though his temples still smart a decent amount (itâs not like Wolfwood had lost any of his strength), but he can still feel where his face shows the remnants of his outburst, salt tracks training his cheeks.
âThose girls made a living out of following me around. You donât think if you were âon a long tripâ that they wouldnât eventually figure it out?â
The longest grudge heâs ever held was against his brother, and even a fair chunk of that had been spawned by the emotional bond between the two of them as siblings. A part of him wants to be able to hold a grudge against Woflwood, in a way; the other part of him though, the part thatâs been alive for far too long and seen too many people come and go, has a hard time letting him do so. He guesses heâs a bit of a softy.
âPlus, they probably would have killed me for lying about it.â
masochisticyuusha:
Hey thatâs- âThatâs the apartment where I stay as well. Thatâs a surprise, weâre roommates apparently!â Thankfully he didnât visibly cringe when mentioning District Alpha and remember why he got in trouble in the first place. âHuh wait, Sector oo1 is the other way!âÂ
âOh, really? I lived alone last time, but itâll be nice to live with a few other people, I think. And-- wait, it-- itâs that way? That means--â
âIâve been going the wrong way this entire time....â
masochisticyuusha:
Wait, this guy has been here before? That was a surprise.Â
âWell from what I heard they usually give you a paper with either a district or a number. For example E-1 is in Sector 1, just above District Alpha if Iâm being correct. The ones with letters and numbers usually end up being apartments.âÂ
âAh, E-1 is actually what Iâm looking for. Last time I was here I was down in one of the districts. Itâs just that Iâm not the best at navigating-- actually, I think I was in Alpha? Ahh, so it should be this way--â
