"she holds the record for the most days spent in space by a woman!" this "she was part of the only all female space walk!" that, she's on the list of people who have spent the most time in space, period. she's spent more time in space than any of her crewmates - one of whom hasn't been into space at all. her time in space is only three days less than what all of her crewmates have combined. she has had as many spacewalks as all of her crewmates combined. she's not there because she's the best female nasa astronaut they could find and they wanted the diversity quota or whatever, she's there because she's part of the most qualified and experienced nasa personnel they could send up there

If you've ever seen a stranger on the street physically flinch or jump because you sneezed so loud that you startled them, you've got to work on that. Like I don't care if it's involuntary, figure it out. Find a way to make it stop. Doing that shit is a character flaw at this point. It's obnoxious.

Alexander the Great swung his sword to cut the Gordian knot, but his sword struck on metal.

“I neglected to mention”, said the sage who had informed Alexander about the knot in the first place, “There is a flexible steel cord inside the rope, specifically to prevent you from cutting it.”

Alexander pondered. “What if I burned it?”

The sage laughed. “Steel doesn’t burn, idiot. Also, you shouldn’t burn the rope because it’s synthetic. Who knows what kind of harmful chemicals might be released.”

Alexander weighed the pros and cons. On one hand, he didn’t want to inhale noxious chemicals. On the other, king of Asia. He came to a determination.

“It’s not like I’m gonna be inhaling these chemicals every day. Just this once.” And so he burnt the rope. Once it had mostly sloughed off, untangling the thinner coil was easy.

Moral of the story: It’s ok to burn synthetics sometimes.

i deserve a medal for this post. not because i was particularly funny but because i survived an onslaught of nearly one hundred gimmick blogs in the wake of this post popping off, and the fact that i didn’t try to track any of them down and snuff them out with my bare hands is a testament to my immeasurable strength and should be rewarded. at one point i had “the official letter h” add on to this post. you wanna know that blog’s gimmick? the really funny and original and worthwhile gimmick the official letter h blog had? yep you guessed it they just gave me the god damned letter H and then fucked off. only jesus knows the suffering i endured over that harsh winter, and he wept for me

my general opinion on what people should be "allowed" to portray and what topics they should be "allowed" to explore in fiction is that you can make whatever art with whatever themes you want but i'm also allowed to think the way you handled it was tasteless and should've been done differently. my negative opinion on your handling of sensitive topics is the price of admission for publicly showcasing your work. this is not a pro-censorship stance because i am not The Government

this is getting really popular so i’d like to add the important caveat that your criticism of a work is no more unassailable than the work itself. just as one is entitled to be critical of something someone else is entitled to disagree with that criticism. i add this because some of you pretend to give a fuck about thoughtful analysis and then when someone points out flaws in your argument you declare that all criticisms are valid. this is untrue. the status of a hater is no more sacred than that of a liker. get off your high horse and engage in the thoughtful discussion you pretend to believe in or perish by my blade
