Gender/Sexuality Protection Spell Jar
âAttacks against my gender identity and/or sexual orientation do not wound me.â
The purpose of this spell is to influence protection against any attacks targeted on oneâs gender identity and/or sexual orientation. You are valid, and you are safe.
Materials: a jar, a small bowl, rosemary, thyme, rose petals, chamomile, mint, red jasper, a sigil, a candle and anointing oil(for 1a) and/or a slip of paper and pen (for 1b). Optional: a personalizing material, such as a lock of hair or a slip of paper with your name (for 5b).
There are two different versions of step one. You can choose to do just one or you could do both. However, if doing both, complete step 1a before step 1b.
1a. Carve your sigil into your candle. I personally chose a white candle because white represents purity and healing. Anoint the candle with oil while meditating on the focus of the sigil. Light the candle and continue the spell beside it.
1b. Write your sigil on the slip of paper. Put it along the inside wall of the jar so that it is facing out, the sigil acting as a shield of protection, or for a larger jar one may fold it up and place it in the bottom for a solid foundation.
2. Put the rosemary, thyme, rose petals, chamomile, and mint in the small bowl one by one.Â
Rosemary for courage, strength, happiness, healing, protection, and releasing negativity.Â
Thyme for healing and releasing negativity.
Rose petals for love, confidence, and healing.Â
Chamomile to soothe and relax. Mint for protection and soothing.
3. Crush together the materials in the bowl with your fingers. As you break them down, visualize the process as breaking down your problems.
4. Put the crushed materials in your jar.
5. Add red jasper, for stability and emotional equilibrium. You may add as much or as little as you want.
5b. Optional: To help link the spell directly to you, you could add a personalizing material, or effectively a piece of yourself, so the spell will hold itâs effect on you even when it is not with you This could be a lock of hair or your name on a slip of paper, for example. I personally didnât add one because my jar is a necklace that I will be wearing regularly.
6. Close your jar. If possible, seal it using the wax from the candle.
At this point you may put out the candle or leave it to burn. I personally chose to let it burn a while longer (though unfortunately not long enough to melt the sigil because I have familial obligations and I canât leave a candle unattended).
Donât forget to put out your candle and donât leave it unattended!
Now the spell is done! Once again, the purpose of this spell is to influence protection against any attacks targeted on oneâs gender identity and/or sexual orientation. You are valid, and you are safe.
Try to stay strong, everybody!
Happy Sunday loves!!
This spread is slightly longer but for good reason!! I made us all a self love spread because I know sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in wanting to be a certain way that we often forget we are actually wonderful JUST the way we are!
All my love, Kyla <3

Did you know that all the pigments we paint with start as stones, rocks, dirt, plants, or animal parts? All those beautiful stones witchâs tend to pick up like Malachite, Citrine, or Lapis LazuliâŠ. Can all be ground down (using a mortle and pestle or just a rock on to of a flat hard surface) and added to a medium (egg yolk = egg tempura, gum Arabic and water = watercolor, beeswax = encaustic paints, or linseed oil = oil paints) and there ya go! Youâve just made your own natural Earth pigments. You can use rocks you find in your backyard, experiment with plants or seeds, or find interesting colors at the grocery store! (Red cabbage makes a beautiful color). Iâm gonna be gathering local stones to try this out and really connect with my sense of place but this is also a really great way to connect to the energies of the more well known stones in your art magic!!

Ancient Alphabets. Thedan Script - used extensively by Gardnerian Witches Runic Alphabets - they served for divinatory and ritual purposes, as well as the more practical use; there are three main types of Runes; Germanic, Scandinavian/Norse, and Anglo-Saxon and they each have any number of variations, depending on the region from which they originate Celtic and Pictish - early Celts and their priests, the Druids, had their own form of alphabet known as âOgam Bethluisnionâ, which was an extremely simple alphabet used more for carving into wood and stone, than for general writing, while Pictish artwork was later adopted by the Celts, especially throughout Ireland Ceremonial Magick Alphabets - âPassing the Riverâ, âMalachimâ and âCelestialâ alphabets were used almost exclusively by ceremonial magicians

Stones for Dream Recall and Lucid Dreaming
Agate ~ Iâve used red agate for lucid dreaming, and highly recommend this stone. This helps induce lucidity and promotes remembering dreams. In ancient times, banded agate was placed on the head to induce rich and colorful dreams. It also helps deter nightmares.
Moonstone ~ this can help induce lucid dreaming, especially near or on a full moon.
Apatite (blue) ~ for lucidity and awareness during dreams.Â
Kyanite (blue) ~ enhances intuition, communication, creativity, meditation, and dream recall.Â
Malachite ~ stimulates inner imagery; makes dreams and imagination more alive and real. Aids in memory and dream recall.Â
Dioptase ~ encourages vivid dreams.Â
Blue Howlite ~ encourages dream recall and awareness during dreams, accessing dream insight.Â
Emerald ~ will make dreams more vivid and colorful.Â
Chrysocolla ~ can induce prophetic dreams, been known to induce trances, and in all is a great stone to work with when practicing lucid dreaming.
Amethyst ~ not only can this help induce restful sleep but is known to aid in dream recall.Â
Azurite ~ it will aid you in opening up to the intuitive potentials of your dreams. This is an excellent stone for use with dream work, and is one of the top stones I recommend.Â
Red Jasper & picture jasper ~ another stone I have used personally and worked well for me, good for astral traveling and lucid dreaming, along with dream recall.Â
Moldavite ~ this is a powerful stone, and when paired with other stones it can change your life. By working with it in your dream work, it will help you to facilitate faster growth in any area you are focused on, whether dream recall, lucid dreaming, or astral travel.
Hypothetical routine(s) and stuff for a baby witch to do
So a lot of people I think are feeling that once you become a witch you need to do lots of things, but they arenât terribly sure what it is they are âsupposedâ to do. Here are just a few little ideas for things you could do, if you wanted to.
During creative free time:
Write affirmations or prayers
You could write them for daily use (like a morning affirmation), one for each day of the week, one for phases of the moon, or different ones to encourage or bind emotions or help you get through tough days.
Doodle sigils for use during a later time
Be creative and have fun, as you are not ârequiredâ to use any sigil you have made.Â
Think about what kind of energy (elemental, herbal, animal, planetary, etc) you thin would best be used to charge each sigil
Create lists of magical ideas you would like to explore or write spells for
Donât worry about whether something is ârealâ enough or will work or not.
Make a list of tools you would like and tools you already have
Draw or write about your perfect ideal tools and what you expect them to do for you
Include herbs, stones, crafts, natural finds, and anything else you like
Create an inventory of things around you, in your home, or that you can easily find, for use in your craft
Write what your current beliefs are
Contemplate your current belief system and morals, and how you think magic works.
Make a list of the most important things you want to learn more about or explore
Write down your current talents and abilities and try to think of ways they can be used magically
Build altars
Draw ideas or create digital altars if you do not have the physical space
Be inspired and create them spontaneously or spend your time and research all the elements.
Try writing a spell - it doesnât matter if you know a ârightâ or âcorrectâ way. Just give it a try and see what you come up with!
During research time:
Research what sort of plants are local to your area and discover what their uses are
Look up the medicinal and magical uses of herbs and plants you have in the house and on your property
See if you can discover what sorts of special crystals or stones are near your area or mined close by
Take your lists of magical items you want and research their uses, both modern and historical
Try to discover not only what an item is used for, but why, and how it became associated with those actions.
Research what kind of religions and magical traditions have historically been practiced in your area
Look up lore and mythology for your geographic location
Find what sorts of helpful books are at your library, whether they be related to religion, psychology, meteorology, mythology, history, gardening, herbalism, cooking, magical traditions, or anything else pertaining to your magical education.
Find a popular pagan or magical author and research them to understand the context behind their writings and get an idea of what others think of them
Create your own reading list of library books to keep you occupied
Research closed religions/closed magical systems so you can understand what is not available for you to use, and to gain valuable information on other magical cultures.
During practice time:
Choose 2-3 energetic exercises such as these:
How to send energy to other people
Energetic Check
Distance Charging
Texting Predictions
Energy Ball
Energy Cannonball
Witchâs Guide to Programing
Witchâs Guide to Grounding
Witchâs Guide to Centering
Witchâs Guide to Shielding (Shielding Masterpost)
Witchâs Guide to Charging
Work on a couple of exercises until you feel really comfortable with them and are satisfied that you now have that skill. Then try practicing others.
Spend 50-70% of the time figuring out how to make the exercise personal to you and comfortable for you
Spend 10-20% of the time learning how to focus and get in the necessary headspace to do energy work
Write (if you want) and/or perform simple candle, knot, paper, (whatever) spells as need arises
Try spells for bringing peace and calmness in to your space, giving yourself good luck, protecting against certain dangers, causing small events to happen, or binding harmful actions done against you
Identify unique needs you face in your everyday life and try to manage and control them with energy work
During upkeep time:
Cleanse your personal spaces
Learn floor washes and keep the recipes and ingredients handy
Discover what cleansings and purifications will work for your situation
Personally cleanse
Take a cleansing shower or bath with special ingredients or using the powers of elemental energies
Do healing/balancing meditations or spells
Clean your altars and tools, keep your spaces tidy
Leave offerings to any spirits you work with
Weed your gardens, check on your plants or pets
Update your grimoire or journals
Include personal experiences, new successes, or things that you have learned
After waking up for the day:
Repeat appropriate prayers or affirmations
Spend time in meditation
You can try to clear your mind, magically make way for the day ahead, or do a guided meditation for preparedness or any other purpose
Draw a tarot or oracle card for the day
Use any magical oils or soaps as part of your waking routine
Including glamoring magic as you get ready for the day is a good way to practice
State your goals for the day with magical intent
Magically plan for free time you need during the day so it will be sure to be open for you
During snacks and meals:
Enchant food by adding in herbs or spices with a little energy and a magical command
Enchant drinks by stirring, adding energy, and a command
Give small offerings to spirits you work with by leaving a little food left over on your plate
Magically affirm that the food will bring you energy
Before going to bed for the day:
Repeat prayers or affirmations
Spend time in meditation
If you meditate when you get up and when you go to bed, try a sunrise or sunset meditation, or complementary meditationsÂ
Identify what successes you have had that day
Push away or transform any negative energies send to you that day
Add additional protective shields for sleeping
That was all I could think of. Add more if you think of some!
