So i’m writing a discworld fanfic and i just realized. Does susan ever laugh? even once? I haven’t read thief of time in a while so there might be an instance in there, but i literally cannot recall her smiling or laughing in soul music or hogfather, which makes it…hard to write her in character.

God im thinking about it some more, how often does any characters laugh? Like, w the exception of Vimes and Nanny Og, I can’t think of many characters that regularly laugh or smile

I’m really trying to recall… Mr De Worde doesn’t laugh either as far as i remember… but he did smile… same for Moist, which i think laughs in some occassion tho but not regularly, and i don’t think Rincewind did either of those much.. maybe smile but idk if always with a positive connotation

but y know… i… i haven’t realized about it really till now… ANd i just finished reading Going Postal… and it’s okay? like i can however imagine them happy and laughing a lot? regularly?

Idk i’m sure Vimes laughs at every single stupid joke Young Sam makes… or maybe hides a laugh as to not cuse his son to feel shame? I can imagine Moist laughing at ironic acid remarks made by Dearheart… or Rincewind at kangoroos tbh. Or idk i can imagine Esme and Nanny cackling a lot when no one’s round cause Witches need respect first.

And i’m SURE susan laughs at Death Punes or plays on words… like… Some of that humour must have sticked to her at some point. And DeWorde did stiffle a laugh once i think when looking at a parsnip with a penis shape… and if he didn’t i’m sure he laughed at another musing vegetables.

Heck i think Vetinari laughs too even

The best thing about Jake, though, is he didn’t start off this way. In season 1 he’s an immature, kinda gross dude, but he grows thanks to positive masculine influences in Captain Holt and Terry as well as his willingness to grow. Jake embodies the idea that good isn’t something you are, it’s something you do; he’s a great example of how it’s possible to grow and do better, even if it’s not always the easiest choice.

If more white boys were like Jake Peralta the world would be a better place.

Seriously though. When the comedian your watching on YouTube announces the interval. Fucken pause, dude! Have a cigarette, have a wank, slaughter your enemies!
