well you sure aint wrong about that but in my case its more of a heightened sense of empathy sometimes i wish i was affiliated with water like my sisters ... and well your feathers are pretty great i guess that could put you over the top for ‘best dragon’ heh in a sense i am a trader i guess sometimes i do end up trading herbs with the fae as opposed to kisses i mean fae are kind of weird in that way

Are wolves most active at night and early morning?

EDIT: Some studies (i.e. Murie 1944, Mech 1970, Kunkel et al. 1991) report that wolves are primarily nocturnal (most active at night), and some studies (i.e. Kolenosky and Johnston 1967, Vilà et al. 1995, Ciucci et al. 1997, Theuerkauf et al. 2003) report that wolves are primarily crepuscular (most active at dawn and dusk).

The problem with researching this question is that GPS telemetry can’t detect the activity peaks during dawn and dusk if the GPS interval is longer than 3 hours, suggesting that movement patterns with crepuscular peaks may have been present but undetected in several previous studies. Observations of some captive wolves (MacDonald 1980) but not others (Kreeger et al. 1996) support this possibility.

Another reason why these studies suggest different answers is because of the definition of activity. In some studies, ‘activity’ is defined by actual distance traveled, whereas other studies define it as any activity. Wolves are active during the day without generally traveling as far as they do at night (and certainly in some areas wolves travel extensively during the day (Mech 1966, 1992, Peterson 1977, Peterson et al. 1984, Boitani 1986)).

So technically, wolves are considered crepuscular in activity, which means on average they are most active around dawn and dusk, although they may be active any time of the day or night. Their activity levels also vary according to seasons and climate. For example, on average, in hot areas, wolves tend to be more active at night to avoid the intense heat of the day. Contrary, in the winter wolves tend to be more active during the day, then bed down for the intense cold nights.

Intended to be read from left —-> right

A very rough, short comic put together in 3-4 days because I wanted to experiment a little and practice drawing cats.. The original concept spawned from a thought that I tweeted a few days ago. 

I had to eyeball from stock photos for some poses of the cats since I don’t actually have a cat to reference (I’m mildly allergic… Much sadness). Although there are many mistakes artwork-wise, I hope some of you will enjoy! Thank you for reading.
