“Y’know,” Lucas began, using his free hand to pull it out of its sheath, before holding it out to Andie handle-first, “you really should look into getting your own. ‘S just practical, really.” His spidery fingers didn’t let go of the polished, sharp blade until she had a safe grip on the handle of the knife. “Blade goes first,” he continued, smiling benignly at her, figuring that offering her the first cut was as nice as it could get.
“Hold on I need a drink of water first.” Andie took a water bottle from her bag and a quick sip before returning to the issue at hand. The man was slightly stirring on the ground, so Andie plucked the knife from his hand rather quickly. “I will.” Before the guy could move Andie plunged the knife into his left side, blood immediately flowing from the newfound wound. A murmur of surprise and excitement came from her, as it did every time this happened. It was always as exciting and surprising as it was the first time.
