To harbor no envy, no anger, no resentment against an offender is still not to have charity for him. It is possible, without any charity, to avoid rendering evil for evil. But to render, spontaneously, good for evil - such belongs to a perfect spiritual love.

Call for prayer and fasting
Recently abortion laws were passed in Peru and the faithful have been called upon to pray and fast. Let us not only pray and fast for the reversal of this nation’s new abortion laws but also for the hearts and minds of men and women around the world - those legislators creating laws, voters, and most importantly the individuals thinking about getting an abortion.
“Let us not forget that prayer and fasting are two invincible weapons that Jesus has placed in our hands and that He himself practiced and recommended. The teaching of Jesus encourages us on this journey: ‘Whatever you ask the Father in my name, He will grant’.” - Archbishop Jose Antonio Eguren
St. Ignatius of Loyola is a great saint for our busy and over-scheduled lives.
His first followers ran into the problem of not being able to pray often throughout the day. So, St. Ignatius recommended a practice called the Examen – an introspective prayer done at the end of the day.

Real Presence of Jesus? Martin Zavala
Question:
Hi Martin, The Catholic Church is wrong because it says that Christ is present in the Eucharist, but that is not true, it is only a symbol. I assure you if I take a consecrated wafer and examined it under a microscope that I would not see Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the Bible says that there is one sacrifice and not many.
Answer:
Greetings brother, By your comment surely you are not Catholic. Below are my responses regarding your comments. Thanks for your e-mail.
Real Presence of Jesus Christ: Body and Blood
The “real presence of Jesus Christ” in the consecrated Bread and Wine is a fact that the Word of God shows us clearly. Notice what Jesus says in John 6:48-51, “…I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world”.
The Three Levels of Faith: Jews, Protestants, Catholics
The first group, the Jews, reacted this way: “The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, ‘How can this man give us this flesh to eat?’ So Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you…” (John 6:52-56).
The second group had a different reaction as follows: “When many of his disciples heard it, they said, ‘This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?’ … After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.” (John 6:60-66).
Note that the latter group was not Jewish but disciples of Jesus. I.e. believers who had accepted Jesus’ words before; believers who love God and recognize Jesus as the Messiah; believers who had heard before of the promises and demands of the kingdom. Believers … yes, believers but to a certain level.
Fast forward to see the third group show another type of reaction and Level of Faith:”So Jesus said to the Twelve, ‘Do you want to go away as well?’ Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God’” (John 6:67-69).
Mandate of Jesus: Do this in memory of me
"And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me" (Luke 22:19).
Updating the one sacrifice of Jesus on the cross
The Eucharist is more than just a memory or repetition, for St. Peter and for us, is a “make present” the covenant sealed with the blood of our Lord. Reference 1 Corinthians 11:23-25.
So real, it has real consequences
Reference 1 Corinthians 11:27-29.
Neither with microscope nor with telescope
If you look at a consecrated host under a microscope you will not see Jesus, but if you look through a telescope at the sky, you will not see God there either. Do not forget the fundamentals: God is not seen with physical eyes through a microscope or telescope. You will find God through the eyes of faith, as the Apostle Paul said, “We walk by faith and not by sight” (Rom. 8:24-25).

Knowing the Gospel is entirely different than living the Gospel.
Neil Vermillion
There are times when I have gone to prayer and said, ‘God, I don’t even want to be here. Every feeling I have wants to be somewhere else. I don’t feel holy, I don’t feel like praying and I don’t feel like talking to you or listening to what you have to say. I just want you to know, Lord, where I am right now.’ Do you know that God blesses such honesty? Of course God knew how I felt all along, and when I admitted it, at least I got out of my illusion and then God could deal with me. So, be yourself with God. Be real and don’t try to be someone else.

Myths and Realities Martin Zavala
When you have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with Protestants, notice how quickly they misunderstand what the Catholic Church teaches about worship and veneration. For them, both words mean the same. The Bible says they are the same, therefore, Catholics are being deceived and have been taught to worship creatures and things rather than the Creator.
But is that true? Are we being deceived by our Catholic hierarchy? Would the Church invent this terminology for the sole purpose of sending us to hell?
In this article, I will give a few answers that every Catholic should know.
10 Dos and Don’ts to keep in mind
It seems like there are more and more atheists who are stepping out and boldly fighting against Catholicism and religion in general. I was shocked to realize how some atheists actively pursue Catholics on social media to instigate a debate or demean our faith. How do you respond to such blatant attacks on your religion? I recently read the following article about How to Talk to an Atheist about Christianity and thought it would be helpful to share.
