I use mayo to make grilled cheese sandwiches
[old ask]why the fuck do you do this
i do too
seriously though why do wizards celebrate christmas other than ‘jk rowling is christian’
what reason do literal wizards have to celebrate a muggle god whose miracles are mostly within the limits of what wizards can normally do anyway
i love that the responses on this post basically boil down to
1. it’s fun
2. muggleborns
and my personal favorite
3. jesus was a wizard
Soon it will be Autumn and Persephone can go back to pegging her husband in peace and I can wear a fucking jumper
Toilet paper pill box.
Another small fun project for recycling! These are perfect for little gifts and a cute way to send your jewelry to customers… it not only give a nice shell of protection to the treasures you put inside, its cost free, customizable and keeps recycling on the mind <3
All you need are - toilet paper rolls - decor ( i used stamps) - Tape or glue
Step one: decorate your roll. I used some of my stamps, but don’t limit yourself to just that… you can use old paper, photographs, tissue paper, paint, sharpie and whatever else you have laying around to decorate. Mod podge and some pattered paper would be fun!
Step two: Once your roll is decorated to your liking, fold down the corners on one end, making it look like little cat ears. Make sure they fold over each other so there is no open gap, and tape down ( you can also glue the end down) * side note… if you dont like the look of regular tape, they sell something called washi tape? that comes in all sorts of amazing patterns!
-Step three: When you have some side sealed and taped down, wrap and place your item/treasures inside the box ( i wrapped up some earrings) and seal the other end, again making sure they fold over one another so there are no gaps.
- Step four… your done!
Again these are wonderful for gift giving and product packaging. Small, sturdy, cheap, recycled pill boxes…. you can use old paper towel rolls too! those are larger and can fit a bit more than TP rolls.
Holy crap I wanna do this.
This is actually great if you have a jar spell that gets buried! It’ll decompose rather than glass that will just take up space and turn into trash overtime. :)
OMG THIS IS EXCELLENT
Witch Crafting
I found myself in a circle of witches with candles and ash . Turns out , they just wanted me to party with them . Tonight I danced with witches .
Bonus picture one of them took
punk isn’t just skinny. punk isn’t just perfect mohawks or aesthetically pleasing jackets. punk isn’t only listening to dead kennedys or black flag. punk is being an individual, having no respect for our fascist authority, sticking up for the little guy even if you are the little guy. punk isn’t just a look or a music scene.
i literally made this because nazis and the alt right can’t be punk
If Hermes is the one of the wanderers and Hestia is the one of the hearth, then together they care for the homeless – holding their hands on the street, keeping them safe, finding them shelter. If Hermes is the path and Hestia is the destination, then together they lead their lost ones home.
i love my mother dearly but ability-wise she frightens me bc not only can she find 20 four leaf clovers within the span of like 2 minutes, everywhere, she can also write her name w/ both hands on a dry erase board or w/e at the exact same time and have both be a mirror image of one another
to add to this: i was making breakfast this morning and i hear “hey milo! look who came to say hello!” and, expecting like, a moth or a frog or something of that nature, i turn and she’s holding a snake
Yer ma’s a witch. Be nice to her
Hi! I am a new witch who has been trying to make sigils of my own. Most guides I have seen online instructed me to turn letters into symbols and that’s it. But is this what most witches do? Or would they incorporate other things like dots, hearts, flowers and other drawings? It just confuses me and IDK where to find the answer haha. Thank you lovely!!
Hi there query anon! <3
Sigils are literally my favorite magic! The beauty to them is that they don’t have to look perfect. They don’t have to be done a certain way. They don’t have to be super fancy. The real and only thing that maters about them is that they truly represent your intent! Of course, you’re welcome to spruce them up a little, but keep in mind to just follow your intuition. The most common way to make a sigil is to turn the lines from capital consonant letters into a picture. That is a valid way to make sigils as long as the intent is in there. However, if you’re like me and you prefer a little bit more structure in your life there’s another way!
So this way is basically the same standard concepts. You write out a present tense sentence, short, sweet and to the point. You will need to mark out all of the vowels and all of the repeated consonants. Now the fun structured part of this is that every letter of the alphabet has a numerical value of 1-9. For example letter ‘m’ is the 13th letter of the alphabet so if you take 13 and make it 1+3 you get 4! Same for the letter ‘z’ it is the 26th letter of the alphabet so 2+6=8. Once you have figured out the numerical value of each letter, you will draw a circle or any shape that your heart desires and you will randomly put the numbers around your shape, they do not have to be in any specific order. Now, all you need to do is incorporate all your numbers into a shape, going from 4 to 3 then 3 to 5 and so on until you have a something that resembles a sigil. Then you will just need to clean up the sigil and as you’re making it, keep focusing on the intent. All of the energy for your intent will be worked into the sigil. You can keep the outer circle if you would like, you can add a couple more things to it, you can personalize it as much as you want. Just remember to follow your intuitions and focus on your intent!
I really hope this helps. The main rule for doing any magic work is to believe in what you’re doing wholeheartedly and do not second guess yourself.
Please consider leaving me a small tip!
Or you can buy me a kofi.
@galaxymindz here u go!
hey so im getting into tarot and i have to use regular playing cards and does anyone know how to tell the difference between regular and reversed?
@angel-witch I use a deck of playing cards as well. What I do is write down the name of the tarot card on the playing card, and the direction of the writing can tell you reversed or not.
ohh thank u!!

So I Have Applied To Adopt a Dog
A sweet sweet chihuahua mix who is 2 years old and good with cats. I applied for him the second I was alerted he was on the adoption website and applications for him were closed a day later.
I called the shelter and was told that my application was received, and they would go through the applications on the weekend and if I pass that I will be called for a phone interview in the middle of next week.
I want this dog you guys. So bad.
I feel like I need to crowdsource some good vibes.
If anyone out there wants to help me get this dog please put good vibes into the universe by either praying to whichever deity you favor or just you know, basic good luck grelims. Tell them to let Jay get that sweet sweet chihuahua mix they applied for. I feel like that will be enough.
If you could reblog to signal boost the good vibes I’d appreciate it. Thanks!
Tl;dr please reblog to crowdsource some good luck so i can get a dog
I will do the first reblog because good vibes start at home. This is a picture of the dog I wish for:
His name is Reese but I want to name him Beast Boy.
can’t sleep?
sit up in bed- not slouching, not leaning into the wall. up. feet dangling off the side- you’re too tired to be fearful of the monsters anyway. feel that? your spine- let it stretch upwards, then collapse back in on itself as you push the air out of your lungs. breathe it all back in again, slowly, then stand and go to the bathroom. use the toilet, wash your hands, wash your face, and look at yourself in the mirror until your eyes are no longer blurred. walk quickly again to your room, run- you’re more awake now, and the monsters are coming back. shut the door and lock it behind you. pull open your curtains, then your blinds, then the window. let the cool night air and the chill of a haunted paranoia raise the flesh of your arms. take off your shirt- the sky is naked and bearing it’s stars to the world and so should you. clear a spot on the floor, big enough to lay across in any direction (not that you will), and stand in the middle. feet shoulder-length apart, fingers splayed, reaching up; spine stretching once again from the nape of your skull to the small of your back and beyond. feel it in your toes and thighs and stomach and between your ribs. lean forward, place your fingertips on the floor between your feet. hang your head heavy. stretch up and down: rotate your arms in wide, slow circles so you feel it pulling along your shoulder blades; lunge low so you feel it deep in the joints of your hips; sway your head, let it crack and pop your neck as the weight shifts and bares your throat skyward. the night is alive on your windowsill and she’s trying to take you with her. the spirits beneath your bed want you to take a long, long, long night’s rest.
but the moon doesn’t need sleep- and you shouldn’t either.
Why "doing something relaxing” does not help your anxiety
A lot of the time when people give advice intended to relieve anxiety, they suggest doing “relaxing” things like drawing, painting, knitting, taking a bubble bath, coloring in one of those zen coloring books, or watching glitter settle to the bottom of a jar.
This advice is always well-intentioned, and I’m not here to diss people who either give it or who benefit from it. But it has never, ever done shit for me, and this is because it goes about resolving anxiety in the completely wrong way.
THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO when suffering from anxiety is to do a “relaxing” thing that just enables your mind to dwell and obsess more on the thing that’s bothering you. You need to ESCAPE from the dwelling and the obsession in order to experience relief.
You can drive to a quiet farm, drive to the beach, drive to a park, or anywhere else, but as someone who has tried it all many, many times, trust me–it’s a waste of gas. You will just end up still sad and stressed, only with sand on your butt. You can’t physically escape your sadness. Your sadness is inside of you. To escape, you need to give your brain something to play with for a while until you can approach the issue with a healthier frame of mind.
People who have anxiety do not need more time to contemplate, because we will use it to contemplate how much we suck.
In fact, you could say that’s what anxiety is–hyper-contemplating. When we let our minds run free, they run straight into the thorn bushes. Our minds are already running, and they need to be controlled. They need to be given something to do, or they’ll destroy everything, just like an overactive husky dog ripping up all the furniture.
Therefore, I present to you:
THINGS YOU SHOULD NOT DO WHEN ANXIOUS
–Go on a walk
–Watch a sunset, watch fish in an aquarium, watch glitter, etc.
–Go anywhere where the main activity is sitting and watching
–Draw, color, do anything that occupies the hands and not the mind
–Do yoga, jog, go fishing, or anything that lets you mentally drift
–Do literally ANYTHING that gives you great amounts of mental space to obsess and dwell on things.
THINGS YOU SHOULD DO WHEN ANXIOUS:
–Do a crossword puzzle, Sudoku, or any other mind teaser game. Crosswords are the best.
–Write something. It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece. Write the Top 10 Best Restaurants in My City. Rank celebrities according to Best Smile. Write some dumb Legolas fanfiction and rip it up when you’re done. It’s not for publication, it’s a relief exercise that only you will see.
–Read something, watch TV, or watch a movie–as long as it’s engrossing. Don’t watch anything which you can run as background noise (like, off the top of my head, Say Yes to The Dress.) As weird as it seems, American Horror Story actually helps me a lot, because it sucks me in.
–Masturbate. Yes, I’m serious. Your mind has to concentrate on the mini-movie it’s running. It can’t run Sexy Titillating Things and All The Things That are Bothering Me at the same time. (…I hope. If it can, then…ignore this one.)
–Do math problems—literally, google “algebra problems worksheet” and solve them. If you haven’t done math since 7th grade this will really help you. I don’t mean with math, I mean with the anxiety.
–Play a game or a sport with someone that requires great mental concentration. Working with 5 people to get a ball over a net is a challenge which will require your brain to turn off the Sadness Channel.
–Play a video game, as long as it’s not something like candy crush or Tetris that’s mindless.
THINGS YOU SHOULD DO DURING PANIC ATTACKS ESPECIALLY:
–List the capitals of all the U.S. states
–List the capitals of all the European countries
–List all the shapes you can see. Or all the colors.
–List all the blonde celebrities you can think of.
–Pull up a random block of text and count all the As in it, or Es or whatever.
Now obviously, I am not a doctor. I am just an anxious person who has tried almost everything to help myself. I’ve finally realized that the stuff people recommend never works because this is a disorder that thrives on free time and free mental space. When I do the stuff I listed above, I can breathe again. And I hope it helps someone here too.
(Now this shouldn’t have to be said but if the “do nots” work for you then by all means do them. They’ve just never worked for me.)
This would’ve been great an hour ago
If your anxiety includes rapid heartbeat for no reason then it may help to exercise! It helps for me because I’m focused on whatever moves I’m doing and breathing, and it gives my heart rate a reason to be that high so that I can start the slow cooking down process and (hopefully) bring that heart rate down with it. Look up a quick cardio workout on YouTube or something and just do it in your room!
~10 Kinds Of Magical Books~
1. Book Of Shadows- A witch’s book of spells, rituals, personal feelings, etc. It is a general book for any metaphysical or religious information that you wish to put into it, among other things.
2.Bestiary- A sometimes hand-written encyclopedia or manual of mythological and magical creatures and beings, used for reference when you want to work with a non-human energy, or for general research.
3.Grimoire- Usually filled with tables and charts, lists relating to astrological, numerical, and color correspondences; properties of crystals, herbs, trees, etc. Contains moon phase meanings and medicinal properties of plants- This one has an old-timey textbook feel to it, usually.
4.Book Of Mirrors- a special journal, where you ‘reflect’ on things going on in your day to day life, providing deep insights which are invaluable when you’re doing work regarding personal growth. Very helpful with developing personal spiritual philosophies.
5.Book Of Moons- A book entirely relating to the moon and it’s cycles, names of the moons of each month, their attributes and energies, dates of lunar eclipses as well as full moon dates of upcoming moons. Filled with vast knowledge of lunar attributes and special dates of red moons, blue moons, etc.
6.Dream Journal- Here you record the dreams you have in as much detail as you can remember, and some people draw images from their dream adventures in this book as well, since dreams use the language of symbolism and imagery. You interpret the meanings of your dreams in here too, if you wish. Dreams can help us get a glimpse into our subconscious and the more dreams you write the easier it becomes for you to remember them.
7. Book of Visions- A vision book is used with the law of attraction, it is a ‘vision board’ in book form. Put different images of things you want in life, be they experiences, physical items, money, health, etc, in the pages of the book. Open the book up to pictures of what you want to visualize having. Think of this as an on-the-go vision board, except with much more space as there are so many pages!
8.Book Of Positive Aspects- At the top of each page you write the name of a topic that you are unhappy with, like ‘the workplace’ for example. Below the topic title you begin listing all the positive aspects of the subject, and by the end of your list your emotions will be in a much better place regarding the topic. You can do a list a day or many in one sitting, it is a valuable tool for cultivating positive energy or for switching viewpoints on things that normally would upset you.
9.Gratitude Journal- A book where you write about EVERYTHING you are thankful and appreciative for in your life right now. You feel overwhelmed with love and positivity when writing in this book, which aids you in raising your vibration and frequency.
10. Book Of Intuitions- a psychic journal, it’s a book where all divination and psychic exercises are recorded, ranging from full tarot spreads, to tea leaf readings, even psychic impressions you pick up off people. It’s handy for tracking progress as well as for record keeping.
