Cormac slipped out of the tea shop, making his way into the alley running alongside of the building as quickly as he could. The issue with dating, well dates really, is that witches weren’t always clear with what they wanted. He had been having a nice time, talking and charming a pretty witch from some department of the ministry. He knew she mentioned which one but he hadn’t really focused on that. He was more concerned with the cut of her shirt and that distracting thing she had been doing with her hair. Had to be magic, the hair flips they all did. It got him every night. The nice time was cut short when a witch he had spent the previous weekend with walked in to see him there. Apparently it didn’t look enough like a business meeting for her. So here he was. Standing in an alleyway and holding his reddening cheek, prepared to apparate off when he heard a noise by the street. “You need something?” He called out, turning around to see who was going to catch him in a state like this.

Today, being Angelina’s day off, had been hectic, somehow she found herself even more busy on days where she was meant to be relaxing, not that she minded. She’d spent the majority of the morning and afternoon volunteering at St. Mungo’s, and was now on her way into The Three Broomsticks for a drink with some friends. Angelina didn’t drink often, because of her quidditch schedule, so on the rare occasion that she did it wasn’t unlike to see her go a bit more wild than usual. However, as she made her way towards the tavern, she spotted a familiar figure lingering in a side alley just off of the main street. She was about to ignore him and walk away, but then he called over to her. “No, just curious as to why Cormac McLaggen is hanging around dark alleys, though I guess it is on brand for you,” she replied, remaining on the main street, only spotting his face as he turned to face her, her eyes widening at his appearance, before a smug smile rose on her lips. “Did you finally hit on the wrong person?”

George laughed, “You’re acting like I could kick him out even if I wanted too! You or Oliver.” He teased her back. He was glad that she agreed to get food though he knew she would. That was one of the great things about her, “Can we go get pizza or do you gotta get something that’s not so greasy?” He asked. He remembered back in school when he played Quidditch that he was always getting yelled at for not eating healthier.

“True,” she laughed, grinning over at him, before her eyes scanned the shelves again. “Pizza?” she furrowed her eyebrows at him, letting out a small sigh. “George, how many times have you had pizza this month- Do you know what, I don’t want to know.” She raised an eyebrow at him, folding her arms over, she clearly did want to know.

Katie barely had time to process the fact that she was pregnant before Oliver went around and told all of their friends. She knew that he was excited, so she couldn’t hold it against him. Still, after the Holidays and everything, she wanted to see Angelina. To talk to her herself. To see what was going on in her life. That was why Katie had invited her friend over to their apartment while Oliver was out with Charlie having a drink.

“I suppose Oliver told you the news already…” Katie trailed off with a small smile. He wasn’t good at keeping secrets. “We’re having a boy!”

After the events of the Ministry, the thought of Oliver and Katie being pregnant had been briefly wiped from her thoughts, but it quickly returned when she got back into the swing of ‘normal’ life again. She knew that she had to talk to Katie about it. How exciting that her best friend was pregnant!

“A boy! Oh wow!” she exclaimed. “That’s so exciting, I’m so happy for you!” Angelina beamed at her friend. “So, how are you feeling? Are you happy? I’m going to be godmother right, but I want a cool name- I don’t want to be just godmother, I want to be supreme godmother.”

While Oliver would see Angelina at practice later in the morning, there were other people there as well and he wanted some time to talk to her one on one since they hadn’t caught up in a while due to how busy him and Katie had been. He knew she’d be more likely to tell him how she was actually feeling without an audience of their teammates.

“We’ll see about that.” He joked back, always ready for some friendly competition. He didn’t start talking until a while into their run. “So, how are things? Anything new with you?”

“Oh, we will,” she confirmed, the competitiveness in her tone. Maybe she was lucky that she had the advantage of training with Oliver when they were at school, but somehow she kept up with him. “You’re really about to ambush me with questions while we’re on a run? This was meant to be a peaceful time, Wood. I’m fine, everything is the same as every other day, why? Are you wanting me to cause some drama or something so you can spice up your own life? Getting bored, are we?”

Cho isn’t necessarily the biggest alcohol fan. The girl doesn’t usually drink a lot but she does love to be in a light drunken state once a while. Hence why sometimes one can spot her at a bar, sipping Wizarding cocktails or firewhiskey after practice sessions when she’s too preoccupied with her own thoughts to go straight home.

Today is no different. She just needs a tiny bit of detour before heading back to her flat so the only sensible option, of course, is a bar. She has just ordered her second glass of fire whiskey when a familiar voice calls out to her. Cho turns around, smiling at Angelina Johnson. “Angelina,” she greets, “It has been a long time. I think the last time we spoke to each other was after a match few months ago?” Angelina is one of many Quidditch athletes that Cho would call a friend outside of the pitch. She isn’t too concerned with competition or keeping a rivalry going and she has been nothing but extremely pleasant and nice to be around. “I’m exhausted but that’s to be expected. Please sit,” she gestures to the empty chair next to her, “What about you? Anything exciting going on?”

“Yeah, you’re right- wow, time really does fly when you’ve got a lot going on,” she laughed. It was weird to think about all that had happened in the last few month, everything had changed, and yet, nothing had changed, she was still here, playing Quidditch, drinking with the same people. “Well when you play like you do, you really give the rest of us a run for our money,” she smiled politely, sitting down in the chair. “Thanks. Oh, nothing too exciting. Just practice, games, then I go home and sleep, repeat- oh and then occasionally I go to St. Mungo’s to volunteer, but you know I’ve been doing that since the war, so I guess nothing’s new with me,” she told the other, taking a sip of her drink. “And yet, somehow, everything in the world has changed, it’s almost starting to feel like last time again, but I’m optimistic.”

Arthur sometimes needed a bit of a break from the hustle and bustle of his family. As deeply and wholly as he loved every single one of them occasionally he needed a moment of quiet to himself. It was something he’d found himself needing more after his kidnapping and as he aged.

When someone entered he kept his eyes closed and let them move around in the kitchen. At the sound of Angelina’s voice he opened his eyes and smiled at her.

“With so many of us, it does get a bit harder to escape.” He joked as he sat up straight. “We’re always glad to have you here, Ange. I know it’s hardly the same as your own home, but we’ve got plenty of spare rooms if you need.”

“Yeah, so I’ve just found out,” she let out a soft laugh, readjusting her bag strap on her shoulder, deciding to take a seat near Mr. Weasley, it would be rude to just rush out now. “Oh, yeah, Molly offered- multiple times actually, but I don’t want to overstay my welcome... and I do have practice most days- I’m very grateful for the offer though, especially seen as I don’t get to see my family as much anymore, it’s nice to be around people... like you all,” she nodded, she didn’t really know where she was going with that sentence.

The sickness that Katie had came in waves, which she found to be very odd. There were days when she felt awful and then days when she felt better. Days when she couldn’t do anything and days when she felt almost back to normal. It had been about a week, though, and it still hadn’t passed. Feeling a bit better today, Katie decided to visit the quidditch pitch to see Oliver. However, when she ran into Angelina, she smiled widely. This was even better. When was the last time that she’d seen her best friend?

“Angelina!” Katie exclaimed happily, before pulling her friend into a hug. “It’s been far too long. I’d love for you to steal me for the night. I’m feeling much better today,” she rambled excitedly. “How have you been?”

Angelina smiled as Katie hugged her, she was glad that she received such a reaction, it had been a while since they’d seen each other, but in fairness to the both of them, they were busy. “Perfect, I need to eat, so I think the Leaky Cauldron is calling our name- if you’re up for it?” she raised an eyebrow at the other. “Oh, I’ve been good, just been throwing myself into practice and games. You know how it is. Haven’t really had much time for anything else- which is probably why we haven’t caught up in a bit, but honestly there’s nothing to tell you, because my life is pretty boring right now.”

Molly loved having her house full. She loved having dinner with her kids and their friends. It was one of the things that she missed the most when they all left the house. She was lucky that they all agreed to having a weekly meal with her. Sometimes some dropped by on other nights, but to have them all together, it was different. Molly made it perfectly clear that anyone was welcome and sometimes it was a mixed bunch.

Seeing Angelina clean the dishes, Molly smiled, tsking as she walked into the kitchen after dinner. “Angelina, honey! I’m perfectly capable of washing a few dishes, dear.” She patted Angelina on the shoulder. “You’re welcome, dear. We’re happy to have you here anytime. Thank you for your help. How are you doing?”

“I know, but I thought I’d save you the time,” she told the other with a smile. She didn’t want Molly to think she was ungrateful, she was always so warm and welcoming, so it was genuinely the least she could do. “That’s so nice of you,” Angelina leaned against a nearby counter. Sometimes it was weird to be here without Fred, it still felt like only yesterday that she’d been here with him, and yet, somehow, it was four years ago. “Oh, I’m good, it’s nice to have a bit of normality when there’s so much going on in the world right now. How are you?” She knew that Molly had been through it recently, with Arthur going missing and then all her children just being the wild Weasley’s that they were.

George looked up from his work, a grin on his face before his eyes even landed on the girl. He was already moving towards her when she turned around, causing him to roll his eyes and grab her wrist. “Stay.” He laughed. “I thought it was some stranger or one of my brothers come to try and take something.” He explained, letting go of her. “I’m almost done actually- want to go get some food after?”

Angelina spun around as he caught her wrist, a grin on her face, raising an eyebrow at him. “Oh, so I’m an exception, huh? I would say I’m honoured but... I don’t know, I get the feeling you’d say that to Oliver too,” she laughed, her arms dropping to her side. “Food? Uh, absolutely, when would I say no to food? I’ve been a training all day, so I could literally eat a dragon.”

The Quidditch Player often found herself socialising with other people in the same profession, it was just easier seen as they all worked on the same schedule and understood the demands of the sport. It also helped seen as the limelight was usually shared between them, rather than simply on one person. Once she was off of the pitch, she left the rivalries aside and found herself enjoying the company of her fellow players.

Angelina spotted Cho by the bar and moved over to talk to her. “Hey!” she smiled. “How are you? I haven’t spoken to you in a bit.”

Angelina never wanted to overstay her welcome at the Weasley’s, so as the night drew to a close the woman began to gather her things and quietly excuse herself. Most of the Weasley’s had scattered themselves around the Burrow so it was easy to escape without protest now. She left a note saying thank you on the kitchen counter and made her way towards the door, pulling on her jacket, but she quickly realised that she hadn’t been as sneaky as she thought when she noticed a man sat on one of the chairs.

“And here I was thinking I could get away without anyone noticing,” she smiled. “I wasn’t trying to be rude- I’ve just realised that if I say I’m leaving everyone makes me stay for another few hours and I’ve got practice tomorrow, so I’d be exhausted.”

Angelina often found herself at the Burrow, it was almost like a second home now, George had dragged her along for dinner once and since then she’d found herself returning. It was comforting that nothing really changed there, it always had the same energy, the same energy that it’d had when Fred lived there. The family always welcomed her with open arms, and she was more than happy to accept their invitations nowadays, even if it wasn’t every week, especially when her family very rarely met up weekly anymore.

The woman waved her wand at a couple of dishes in the sink as they cleaned themselves, she knew it was a small thing to do, but every little bit help. As she turned to return to the others she came face to face with Mrs. Weasley. “Oh! You scared me,” she laughed, a smile on her face. “I was just...” she pointed at the sink, trailing off. “Thank you for dinner, it was lovely.”

After training usually Angelina would find herself rushing off straight away to get to her other commitments, but today she decided that she would take the evening off, focus on herself for the night. It just so happened that practice had run over, so she wouldn’t have been able to make it to her plans even if she’d decided to go. The woman had changed at a leisurely pace, saying goodbye to everyone as she walked out, bumping into someone on her way out.

“Oh shit- oh, Katie?” she exclaimed, a smile rising on her lips. “Oliver’s actually left already, I think he said something about buying some new gloves- I don’t know, maybe I’m making that up,” she laughed. “But you see enough of him at home anyway, and you don’t see enough of me, so I’m stealing you from him for the night- unless you actually have something planned, in which, that’s a shame because I’m still stealing you.”

It wasn’t unusual to see Angelina out this early, she liked to jog at this time, it meant that she avoided seeing anyone, it also meant she could clear her head before training, which started abnormally early as well. Normally, she’d go alone, it was more peaceful when she didn’t have to worry about talking to anyone and could relax, however today Oliver had suggested going together, and who was she to say to no to Oliver Wood, plus she didn’t mind his company.

“You ready Wood? I doubt you’ll be able to keep up with me,” she jested.

After the last customer left for the night, George wished that he could go home. Instead he had to clean up, reset up displays that got ruined, clean, count inventory and start setting up for the next day. Most of which wouldn’t take too long, thanks to the help of magic. Still it was around an hour past his closing time and he swore that he heard something while counting the inventory. The man paused, waiting for a moment to see if he heard anything again, wondering if he had possibly imagined it. Certainly wouldn’t have been the first time that he’d thought he’d heard something that wasn’t there. He could definitely hear footsteps though, so he figured he’d call out to the person. “Stores closed! Bugger off!”

“Shame that I don’t listen to men who tell me to bugger off, isn’t it!” she exclaimed, twirling her wand between her fingers as she guided herself towards the area where the man’s voice had come from. “Especially when the woman who you’ve told to bugger off is here to keep you company while you lock up, I guess I just won’t do that anymore.” She finally found herself looking at the other, raising her eyebrows as she returned her wand to her pocket. “So you want me to go, because I’ll-” she turned to face the direction she’d just come in.
