Hi everyone, I received unfortunately news this morning that my cat has a blockage in his bladder and he is currently at a Vet Urgent Care Center having tests done. However, we were told that he will have to go to a vet college to receive better care, as this vet college has the best of the best vets. The vet seems hopeful that they can help him, but the bills will put an immense financial strain on my boyfriend and I. I'm not one to beg for money, but I feel as though I don't have a choice here. Update:
So after the initial procedure of unblocking Polaroid went well, they eventually allowed him to come home after a few days. Unfortunately, several hours after bringing him home, he got a fever and was seemingly lifeless in my arms. We hurried him back to vet where they told us that he had reblocked and that it would cost about another 3000$ to have the same procedure done again that could have possibly ended with him blocking a third time anyway. While we were heartbrokenly discussing the option of having my baby euthanized, the vet came back and informed us that he had an extremely low red blood cell count, meaning that something even worse was happening to him under the bladder issues. Although it absolutely shattered my heart, I made the impossible decision to let my baby go so he wouldn’t suffer any more. I held him as he passed, telling him how much I love him and that everything was going to be okay. Our home feels so empty without him wandering around and there’s a massive hole in my heart since that day.
While I initially decided on forgetting about the GoFundMe page since everything with Polaroid was over, we have struggled financially since then. Thankfully, my best friend loaned us money to pay the bill of the second vet, but paying for the first vet we went to set us back quite a bit. My work hours have gone down due to the approaching end of school semesters (although I’ve been applying to other jobs, but haven’t heard from any of them), so it’s been difficult and stressful these past couple weeks. I haven’t been able to pay my minimum credit card payment and of course I want to pay my best friend back asap after how awesome she was to us.
All of this to say, I’m resharing my GoFundMe page in the hopes of some kind souls donating to help us get back on our feet financially after this unexpected situation. Anything at all helps, big or small. I understand that it’s getting close to Christmas and people are more focused on getting presents for their loved ones, but even a share or reblog would be a help. While I know it may seem silly to still ask for donations even though Polaroid has passed, I also know that people have asked for donations for far more sillier reasons than this.
Long story short, I appreciate everyone who has donated so far and would forever adore anyone who is able to help us in the future.
