Ello I'm Asher. I do art of my OC's and sometimes write things.
I try to ID most of my newer art, but not all art posts have them. Sorry about that :( [sad face.] Do beware that I tend to make longer ID's for my art than perhaps necessary. All the images on this post have ID's in their alt text!
@asheronangel is a sideblog where I reblog only my original posts to. Made for anyone who wants to see my stuff, but not my many many reblogs.
@asher-only-ids is where I reblog all of the image descriptions I write for posts that are not mine.

“I have some questions about vitiligo, I hope I'm not bothering you.
1: Do vitiligo and albinism have any relationship?
2: is there any condition that is the opposite of vitiligo where instead of white spots there are black spots?
3: what health problems does vitiligo cause?
I just realized while writing this that, albinism was not having pigments on the skin. Sorry for my ignorance.”
No worries it’s no problem at all and you don’t have to apologize this is what I’m here for!
As far as I’m aware vitiligo and albinism don’t have any genetic relationship to each other, at least when it comes to the way it develops but they share a lot of similarities when it comes to social and health implications.
There’s a few hyperpigmentation disorders but most of them seem to be circumstantial and not truly based on an internal genetic / autoimmune issue, although melanism does exist and can happen in humans but it’s more like the opposite of albinism rather than vitiligo.
Vitiligo can potentially have a slew of health issues but none are guaranteed to occur or not to occur. Examples could include skin cancer, other autoimmune conditions (such as hypothyroidism) and even hearing loss. Some ppl say it can cause vision loss but there aren’t any good studies or sources on it and from my knowledge of ocular immune systems it seems nearly impossible for that to actually be the case. There are way too many factors, especially in the modern era for the few studies with small sample sizes for me to full heartedly go “yes it does this” to explicit vision loss. However, I can see dry eyes being one of the more understandable ocular issues, but as I mentioned there are too many modern day things that cause these exact ocular problems. I don’t trust any source that isn’t from an explicit scientific study especially considering how much AI is out there.

I kind of have an equivilant in mind for drugs/mind altering things which I think alcohol would fall under in: extensions! Like those browser extensions to pretty up your browsers and change how everything looks and the shimeji you can get to wander your screen
But since for robots computer = their brain it is essientially downloading something to alter your perception of reality or how your brain is functioning. Which may include having a silly little guy wander your vision or various bows and glittwr and sparkles
robot doctors are increasingly frustrating with the rise of... i dont know what to call it
Bloatware feels lkke a good twrm but its real life meaning is different from what i want to express
but yeah not only do they see the act of possibly permamently altering your perception of reality as stupid, it can also take a real strain on your systems! Espciially if you download a lot or really detailed ones. It's a lot of fluff most robots arent designed to handle and it can cause permament damage. The drain on their brain power could cauze alchohol like symptoms in a lack of inhibitions or critical thinkimg
