The peace didn’t last long, however, as Earth was soon nudging him awake again.
“Luna. Luna, wake up.”
“What?” Luna groaned, blinking his eyes open. It was still dark, his celestial form now higher in the sky, nestled in Aquarius. Earth was indicating another constellation, just on the northern horizon. The calm that had settled over him was hard to shake off, even in the face of Earth's expression.
“Cygnus is wrong.” At first the words coming out of his planet made no sense; but, as Luna studied the familiar constellation he realized Earth was right. Cygnus was tilted, Deneb was now pointing straight down rather than at the angle expected to the horizon line. “It’s pointing compass north.”
—Chapter 1 of Down to Earth
@deerwatcher78 since it’s the one year anniversary of DtE!
What do you think of us finally getting to see Luna's arrogant side?
FINALLLLYYY
I've always known in my heart of hearts that it was there, but getting to see him be shady was SO funny. And he was SHADY dude. It's my personal strongly held belief that he's insanely competitive (nerd) and solarcards brings out a deep-seated beast within him. Thank you solarballs for validating my truth. If that guy ever got into league of legends he'd be shit-talker extraordinaire. This guy is so toxic when he plays games I know this to be true. He has post-game clarity where he's like Wow I did NOT needing to be saying that
Been thinking I should maybe put a little more thought into the individual moon's designs, 'cause honestly I think some of them could be very pretty dragons 🐉
A very scuffed height chart for Down to Earth (with human for scale)
Left to right: Phobos (lower end of minor moons), Proteus (upper end of minor moons), Titania (average for major moons), Ganymede (upper end of major moons and lower end of rockies), Earth (upper end of rockies), Neptune (lower end of giants), Jupiter (largest of the giants).
Random question but regarding your reaction fic series: how do you imagine Archer's voice sounding like? Do you have a overall idea/description or even a voice claim? Also do you have or plan to do a art of them in the future? I think we already got an overall idea of his appearence through the POV of other characters (they have three eyes and his face is covered in feathers i think?) but it would be cool to have a artistic expression too.
Also, sorry if i come across as pushy or demanding through this.
Please don't worry, I'm always happy to answer questions. I hope my previous post hasn't given that impression, I just can't really answer questions about when 'insert fic' will be done/updated.
Hmm, I'll say I never gave Archer much thought when I started the react fics, I usually find author-inserts in react fics rather annoying, so Archer's job was just to set things up and get out of the way lol. And, no fault to anyone else, 'cause I've definitely messed up somewhere, but Archer's supposed to be they/them exclusively 😅 (I'll need to reread to find out where I've fucked this up lol)
In terms of voice, I've always pictured it similar to the way computer voice readouts sometimes struggle to pronounce words or stress sentences properly. Not robotic, just very off-key and hard to follow for listeners. Eh, as a specific voice claim, maybe Imad Royal?
I'm currently separated from my watercolour and acrylic paints, so I gave colouring pencils a try for the first time since I was little, which went about as well as you'd expect lol
Also, eyes and feathers are, like, the two things I'm worst at drawing, so clearly I wasn't thinking this through when I designed Archer 😅
Hey Sun-splotches! I have a little idea for Earth Peacock:
Usually, peacocks start shaking their tails when defending their territory and sometimes, in certain cases, oneself or someone else (or to compete during mating season, ahem)…
Now, imagine an AU where, during the Moon Revolution, Earth saw Luna being held captive and reacted with such furious display (after all, no one would dare take his little brother prisoner!) that some of the other moons could barely keep themselves from bolting because the Earth seemed terrifyingly huge to them…😁
Thanks in advance if you answer this! :)
P. S Love your art. You also inspired me to create my own sketches of planets & moon as animals (I am currently working on one of them) 🫶
This made me think of the heights or sizes in my au so I doodled a rough graph
Which you know against the moons earth is already huge and probably intimidating. And when you put his tail into the equation, well…
He probably doesn’t pull this move often but I could see it being used to intimidate lmao
(luna gets annoyed when Earth does it because he never fails to hit him in the face)
Terra rarely drinks because he doesn't want to do something stupid that'll harm his lifeforms. But when he does drink and gets drunk he becomes so lovey-dovey. Like, he cries as he gushes to Luna about how amazing of a brother he is and how beautiful he is in his night skies.
I've been locked in on Artfight more than anything, but here's my take on the most recent episode! I drew this with my finger so forgive me for this shitty quality I don't like ibis paint x👎
They're so excited to see the planets again!! They don't even know what's coming next and I can't wait to find out this weekend oml
for the branches and apples au did terra ever deal with bad pregnancy symptoms like cravings or cramps?
Terra did deal with bad pregnancy symptoms (and cravings) for each pregnancy.
For Juniper he always craved canned tuna. And sometimes he got intense cravings for Sun's steaks, but because he was pregnant the steaks were cooked medium well. No pinkness allowed! As for the pregnancy symptoms, literally everything that is stereotypical he went through. Morning sickness, aching body, dizziness, overly emotional. All that jazz.
For Clover the biggest cravings were potatoes. Sweet potatoes and white potatoes to be exact. His pregnancy with her was the easiest actually, no complications or issues.
River is when things got tough. First and foremost Terra's cravings with this pregnancy was ice cream and donuts. At one point his doctor told him he was close to getting diabetes if he didn't stop. Other than that he found himself dealing with bad self-esteem issues during this pregnancy. Which didn't help with the Derek situation involving Mars.
When Terra was pregnant with River, Mars got a project where he had to work together with a partner. Enter Derek, an attractive alpha. Who gets along well with Mars and the company... a little too well for Terra's liking. To be fair, this pregnancy has took a major hit to Terra's self-esteem, so he tries to have Mars follow some simple rule as to not spend extra time with him after work. Which Mars does follow, but it creates issues with his coworkers thinking he's being rude to Derek.
That's basically what happens, issues get created at Mars's work which created issues at their home until finally Terra took the girls and stayed at Sun's. And then Derek tried to make a move on Mars and that's when it clicked in his head, "Oh... you were purposefully causing issues in my life."
And then it gets revealed at the end that Derek is some omegaverse adjacent in*el who hates omegas and the Marth relationship isn't his first time trying to do this. Mars goes to Sun's to apologize and fix things, Terra spends the rest of the pregnancy being spoiled, and as for Derek... it was an extended family effort to make him pay.
In the omegaverse, are the omegas the only ones who can get pregnant?? What about the betas and alphas or sigmas? Is it possible for any of the planets or possibly stars to get pregnant no matter what secondary gender they have??
Nope, in my omegaverse it's both omegas and female betas. Male betas and alphas are the ones who get others pregnant. As for sigmas (stars and black holes), both. They can do whatever they want. Get pregnant and get others pregnant. The skies the limit with them.
And nah it's not possible to get pregnant no matter what secondary gender they have. I try to be as realistic as I can, even in omegaverse. Branches and Apples world kinda works with a pack mentality.
In each pack the sigma is in charge and can do anything in their pack. It's a matter of culture as to how they proceed. For example, in the Milky Way City that Branches and Apples is set in, sigmas tend to become leaders and protectors, and not making babies.
