"I'm still kicking" is such a funny way to say "I'm still alive". Like lol. I'm still thrashing. Flailing. Writhing even. The violence remains.

Seeking Validation
Writing used to make me feel alive. The beauty of stringing words togetherāturning feeling into something powerful and meaningfulāwas the one place I felt like I mattered. Writing earned me the validation I so desperately craved from the world around me. A mother who said I wasnāt good enough for anything, a father too emotionally checked out to care, and an older sister who belittled every move I made is the perfect recipe for a cranky youngest daughter who thrives on academic validation and social media likes.
2015, 2020, 2025, 2026. Four years, four diplomas. Four milestones that were supposed to make me feel proud. And yet, when I look at them, I feel nothing. No celebration feels earned when your thirtyāyearāold sisterās Christmas Eve snowman drawing makes it onto the fridge, but your honors society membership earns nothing more than a thumbs-up emoji.
Iāve received more genuine praise from strangers online than I ever have from my own family. And older generations wonder why we cling to our phonesāwhy we scroll, why we post, why digital validation means anything. But strangers on the internet have done more to stitch each other back together than some families ever have. We share pain, we share hope, we try to heal the sting of rejection from the very people who were supposed to nurture us.
Our grandparents broke our parents, and our parents broke us. Now their grandkids are left trying to parent one another.

My Body isĀ a Temple
Body modification is a common practice in the United States as well as other parts of the world. What most people don't realize is the backlash that came come with it. Body modification is defined as altering of the human anatomy. Changing anything about your body is a modification, similar to adding a turbo to your car.Ā 83% of the earth's population has their ear lobes pierced. Yet getting any piercings in your face or getting a tattoo is still taboo to a large number of people.Ā Ā Most major cities like New York or Charlotte, North Carolina have a very diverse population. People are exposed to more ideas and different types of people. In smaller towns such as mine there is a lot of the same type of person.Ā The most common religion in my region is Southern Baptist or Methodist. Most individuals who comment on my body use the bible to defend their actions. The verse most commonly used is āYe shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.ā from Leviticus 19:2. What most do not consider is the context of this verse. In its full context the marks of the dead and printing of marks are referring to what the bible considers Pagan rituals. My tattoos are not rooted in any rituals of any king, they are simply things I enjoy.Ā Another popular quote that has been used against my appearance is ā know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?ā from 1 Corinthians 6:19. Most temples and places of worship I know are decorated with beautiful paintings and other art works, so if my body is a temple why would it be any different? I would also like to point out that the bible has only been around for 3,500 years, half the amount of time tattoos have been.Ā These same people also assume my faith. Being that I live in the same small town they do it is assumed I follow the same faith. Larger populations tend to have bigger varieties in religion. Religions that are much more lenient about tattoos including Judaism (Rabbis do differ on this opinion), Hinduism, andĀ Buddhism. Athiest also generally don't have a view on tattoos in a religious sense but may object in other ways. Many people in my life don't follow a religion at all. In addition to the bible quotes some people are just rude. I am often asked how will they look when I grow old. Some people ask me if I enjoy being hurt or being in pain. I have received more mistreatment from non tattooed people than those who have them.Ā Many employers also require them to be covered as they can be seen as unprofessional. Careers that involve working with the public may ask you to wear long sleeves or cover with make up. Jewelry and piercings are usually a safety issue and are more than fair to restrict. I have had customers ask to be helped by some one else assuming I could not assist them far more often where I live now. The assumption is also more aimed at women who are tattooed. I have had many tattooed male coworkers treated far more respectfully because tattoos are not considered feminine or lady like.Ā At the end of the day we are entitled to do what ever we want with our bodies despite the opinions of other. It does make life harder when those opinions are false. My appearance doesnāt define my work either or who I am as a person.
Just looked up my symptoms on WebMD & turns out I just need to lay gently in the cold dark earth

Someone Should Talk To This Principal
My school used to do this
Fuck them
Our school used to ask children who were late questions about maths, but those that they canāt answer yet. And then they made kids write down that they donāt know math. My 11yo classmate (who was always great at math) was crying after this.
Oh god, my elementary school was hell.
I remember this one music teacher who, for some reason, REALLY fucking hated autistic kids. I would know, because everyone in my weird therapy group was targeted while everyone else was ignored.
I saw her physically drag a kid out and threaten to get him suspended because he was to scared to dance solo in front of his peers.Ā
There was alsoĀ ālunch detention,ā and they didnāt fuck around with that. They didnāt isolate the students like that, they fucking shoved them in a separate room and forbade them from sitting together or talking. They slowly brought in several teachers and eventually the principal, and they all, one by one, told us that we were horrible, reprehensible people who would never be successful.Ā
And you wanna know HOW you got lunch detention? Not finishing your work on time, even if it was a one-time thing.Ā
State sanctioned child abuse
āChild abuseāĀ
Yāall are insane.Ā
It may not be child abuse but honestly, some of this shit is fucking insane and harmful to the students than it is helpful.Ā
I mean.
It is abuse.
Emotional Abuse is a thing
How is systematically targeting, publicly shaming and humiliating young children not abuse to some of you??
It also says something that someone can see examples of how children are mistreated and their first response is to argue semantics.
I mean if it offends that person more that someone is calling this behaviorĀ āchild abuseā than the fact that this behavior happens at all, that says a lot.
