Last days of filming! What to order? Hmm.. maybe a milkshake?
Sketching the first page of a 4-page comic I am making for Rikkiproject. It's an anthology about mental health. It aims to bring more awarness about the issue.
Well, one post a year is better than nothing I guess :D Here’s our 2017 class photo featuring our stopmotion puppets. The monster with the eyebun is our lovely Erasmus student Eva. But who are the others? One can only wonder!
Doodle. Wild legs! Such moving! Dancing and dreaming.
Today we started filming! Here are some pics from the set.
Friday 31st March 2017 Façade of the Opera House, Lille A unique video mapping created by professionnals and students from the most prestigious European and ...
This is the videomapping I took part of! I animated the clown that appears around 1:50.
We’re practicing to animate the puppets! (so much fun but oh so difficult!)
My tiny rollerskates are coming along nicely. Still need to fix the painting job a bit and add shoelaces etc. and we’re good to go (phew should finish the whole puppet by Monday!! Getting a bit busy here).
Some clown animations I made in a Videomapping workshop in Lille! (I had 3 days to animate and color the animation and there ended up being over 100 frames! So the animation consists mainly just out of keyframes. Also gif gave my clown a chickenpox! Damn you gif! Damn you!!)
I’ll post a proper video of the screening, or at least a link to one, once such appears somewhere. My shakey filming of it doesn’t do justice to all the amazing artists participating in this project.
And here’s a bit more finished (but still far from finished!) picture of the puppets body. The parts with the stocking will be dipped in latex as to make skin for the character. The rest of the body will be covered in fabric, which will be the fur. Then we’ll add some clothes, a head, some shoes...and tada! We got ourselves an animation puppet! How cool is that!
(Look how messy it is! That’s what you get for having 9 animators build crazy puppets all at the same time.)
We’re having a stop motion course at school, and we’re starting off by building dolls to animate. Our scene will be set in a 50′s American diner. My character is the waitress. A cynical mouserat. She’s been working there, in the same diner for years. Too many years. All her dreams slowly fading away, as the change she waited for never came. Ah, but there’s always coffee and cigarettes. And strangers, meeting for a date, only to discover they are actually monsters. Isn’t that strange? Isn’t that beautiful?
These are the character design sketches.
My animation is coming along slowly but steadily. Here's a little butterman about to jump out of a recipe book. He's so lovely! Here I come, let's bake bun! He says. Silly little butterman. You make my day.
A linetest from my first short animation in the making “Bun yum yum”. A tragic story about an unhappy baker.
I thought I’d post this here too!
This is a stop-motion animation we made in school last autumn. The assignment was “river”.
translation notes:
Kilpaa joen kanssa = racing with the river
Lähtö = start
Maali = goal
Here’s a room. It’s still, quiet, asleep, calm. But soon its peace will be disturbed, for night is full of life, full of secrets. Everything is just hidden, soft, invisible at first, but once your eyes get used to the dark you start seeing all sorts of amazing things.
Instead of doing anything productive with my time, I decided to use this afternoon to design my new credit card. HERE IT IS!!! Sade’s OWN bangk gard!
