[ID: A digitally drawn comic of Toph and Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender talking about Zuko’s scar.
It begins with Toph approaching Zuko, who is sitting near a campfire. “You have a scar?” she asks. Zuko replies, "Oh! Uh, yeah… You didn’t…?“ Toph cuts him off and says, "Came up in passing with the other guys.” Toph casually makes herself a seat out of rock and sits down next to him. “Must be pretty badass if everyone assumes I know it’s there, too,” she continues. Zuko looks aside awkwardly and says, “… It’s on my face.” “Ah.” Toph replies.
Zuko says, “Maybe you could… feel it?” “Huh?” says Toph. “I guess, if I concentrate hard enough.” Zuko reaches for Toph’s hand. “Uhm, just with your hand, if you want,” he says. “I don’t think I can describe it.” “… Gotcha. Guide my hand then, boss,” Toph says. Zuko does so, and there’s a pause as Toph touches his scar. The fire reflects in her eyes.
As Toph pulls her hand away, Zuko says, “…. You know, my left eye is almost blind, too.” “Seriously?!” Toph exclaims. “Why aren’t we a tag team yet?! The blind bandit and the half-blind dweeb!” “Come on…!” Zuko moans. End ID]
id by @strawberrygiorno , thank you!
i’ve had this comic sketched out for months but only decided to finish it now, it’s based on something i drew a couple years back of toph and zuko….don’t think too hard on when or how this takes place because i don’t really know either! it’s just a concept i’ve always wanted to draw
also posting these two on their own :-) based on This post by @outpastthemoat
I just think that whenever Toph and Sokka are visiting the Fire Nation at the same time, they like to take their “world renowned” kazoo duet down to the dungeons and practice outside of Ozai’s cell.
I just have this nagging mental image of Evil Katara developing moonless Bloodbending a la Yakone and controlling Aang 24/7. She barely sleeps, since she can't let Aang go free, so she's got bags under her bloodshot eyes. It's some kind of musical, obviously. Tumblr will go insane for something called the Marionette Tango and its dark reprise at the end. Katara keeps bringing Aang to Gaang outings where the Gaang has all these happy bright corny songs, except Aang's voice is slightly off and Katara keeps whispering the ends of Aang's lines.
Sokka and Zuko perform a version of Katy Perry's Hot n Cold or whatever that song is called. The gifs of that circulating fool people into thinking that this is a fun musical.
Aang dies in the end, and they imprison Katara at the bottom of a dry well, where she - alternating between tears and dissonantly soft smiles - hallucinates herself dancing with Aang, but the steps are the Marionette Tango, and then the music comes in as Katara laughs and laughs, because after years of controlling Aang, controlling his every word and action, she is that version of Aang, and she'll never be alone, and her steps become all jerky and stilted and the audience realizes she's bloodbending herself. Yeah. That's the thing send it out
Zuko: U-um, Aang would you, uh, like to go on a date with me?
Aang: S-sure, Zuko, where to?
Zuko: ...
Zuko: Uh, I don’t know, I honestly didn’t think that far enough ahead, or think I would get this far.
Iroh *listening in from outside the door*: *sigh* Of course you didn’t

For those feeling overwhelmed by all the Executive Orders, that's the point.
This was posted by sociologist Jennifer Walters: "As a sociologist, I need to tell you: Your overwhelm is the goal.
1/ The flood of 200+ executive orders in Trump's first days exemplifies Naomi Klein's 'shock doctrine' - using chaos and crisis to push through radical changes while people are too disoriented to effectively resist. This isn't just politics as usual - it's a strategic exploitation of cognitive limits. 2/ Media theorist McLuhan predicted this: When humans face information overload, they become passive and disengaged. The rapid-fire executive orders create a cognitive bottleneck, making it nearly impossible for citizens and media to thoroughly analyze any single policy. 3/ Agenda-setting theory explains the strategy: When multiple major policies compete for attention simultaneously, it fragments public discourse. Traditional media can't keep up with the pace, leading to superficial coverage. The result? Weakened democratic oversight and reduced public engagement.
What now?
1/ Set boundaries: Pick 2-3 key issues you deeply care about and focus your attention there. You can't track everything - that's by design. Impact comes from sustained focus, not scattered awareness. 2/ Use aggregators & experts: Find trusted analysts who do the heavy lifting of synthesis. Look for those explaining patterns, not just events. 3/ Remember: Feeling overwhelmed is the point. When you recognize this, you regain some power. Take breaks. Process. This is a marathon. 4/ Practice going slow: Wait 48hrs before reacting to new policies. The urgent clouds the important. Initial reporting often misses context 5/ Build community: Share the cognitive load. Different people track different issues. Network intelligence beats individual overload. Remember: They want you scattered. Your focus is resistance."
You will be nice

The TOS crew and how good they are at baking:
Uhura: a great cook, but a terrible baker. She tries to go by her heart in measurements and it goes as expected. However- you will eat her half raw, half-overcooked brownies anyway because it’s Uhura and she offered them so nicely.
Sulu: He’s actually pretty decent in the kitchen, but DO NOT TALK WITH HIM, he will get distracted and the kitchen will catch on fire. He held a funeral for his sourdough starter when it died.
Spock: “Baking is simple chemistry.” Spock explains as he pulls his absolutely perfect soufflé out of the oven. This pisses Bones off to no end.
Kirk: if it doesn’t come in a box with Betty Crocker’s face on it, Kirk is fucked.
Chekhov: The only crew member allowed to be Spock’s sous chef. Naturally talented but hates cleaning up so he never uses said talents.
Bones: Similar to Uhura in that he is a much better chef. He can make simple things like cookies pretty decently but more complicated recipes stress him out and he ends up swearing at the oven. Makes a stupid good pie crust.
Chapel: She likes to try recipes from around the galaxy. Her habit of bringing extras to work and gives them to patients has earned her a lot of favor with the crew.
