watching twin peaks is hard because sometimes you think 'these characters could use some therapy'. and then you remember that some of them did seek out professional help but their only option was this
I made a bad comic and now you have to look at it
more pyaari everyone say hi to pyaari (not my video credit to @withpyarri)
It seems like the older I get, the more irrationally angry casual censorship makes me. And it isn't just the "unalive" "grape" alleged filter-dodging vernacular, but the way normal words will be peppered with asterisks, or screenshots will have words like "gay" "hell" "fuck" etc either partially or entirely blurred. Who is this helping? What is the purpose of it, except to reinforce shame and elevate a flimsy perception of purity and safety, however those things manifest. It's so tiresome and I'm sick of it.
so guys turns out that being raised by queer people alienates me from the queer experience. probably not a good thing
i genuinely have not experienced most of the "defining" moments yall talk about.
i never came out to my parents because my parents never assumed i was cishet.
i never did an "am i gay?" quiz because i knew the answer didn't matter, really.
i never "found out" about trans people, my parent has identified as gender neutral my entire life.
i never cried or even felt any big emotions when i found out i was queer. it was just like huh. cool.
my point here is not that i'm sad about having grown up in a queer-friendly enviroment. my point is that the fact that i don't relate to queer experiences as a queer person might imply that we still define queerness based on suffering.
i'm not saying that queer people who have suffered should stop talking about it. all i'm really saying is that if you want to define queerness based on joy instead of misery, you have to accept that queerness is not a big deal to everybody. you have to accept that not every queer person is going to relate to "queer experiences".
At the end of the day, that ^, feels like what a lot of us have been fighting for. A world were it is no big deal. And I'm so happy someone has already gotten to experience that.
In a new turn of events, a 'wedding photographer' was caught running his business on entirely fake photos. Here's what happened.
Y'all.
Y'all.
What the fuck.
He what now.
Wait. Waitwaitwaitwait.
THAT James Somerton!?!?!?!?!
Ever since I heard about his new start I've been wondering how he would plagiarize being a photographer who goes to events (I mean, I hoped he'd learn his lesson, but given past performance it didn't seem likely) and here's an answer. Good lord.
The fact James didn't bring any equipment and started to pretend to be the bride at the wedding he went to 'photograph' is fucking bonkers
Had a minute at work to look it up, and I did find the title!

#O Ancestors! I cry. What is your wisdom for times like these?#Start a garden and have a cuppa. says my great-grandmother who went through the depression#Lie your ass off to the government and have a cuppa. says my great-great grandfather who escaped the potato famine#Keep your humours in balance and have a cuppa. says my ancestor who survived the bubonic plague#Bring tribe together so many make strong and have cuppa. says my neanderthal ancestor#BITE THEM BITE THEM BITE THEM. Says my small arboreal ancestor. ALSO LITTLE TREAT.#Thank you for your wisdom ancestors. I say and turn on the kettle. - gallusrostromegalus
How serendipitous to discover that my tags have passed Peer Review just as I have sat down with a cuppa :)
Gosh I hate grind culture. My little sister just started medical school and all of her orientation leaders are like “you absolutely cannot have a life WHATsoever you WILL have to give up EVERYTHING besides this program say GOODBYE to your hobbies and relationships” and now she’s calling me feeling guilty for running and going to the grocery store and that’s just WRONG! And that is exactly what I was told starting law school as well, and rejecting that mentality was the best thing I ever did but it was so hard not to buy into. Anyway if any of you are in an intense academic program PLEASE take time to sleep and eat and exercise and maintain your relationships and keep up your hobbies! you are not a robot who exists solely to study and I promise that living a life and staying physically and mentally healthy is not going to make you fail
Workaholism is not just a “millennial quirk”, it’s a very real psychological problem that should not be normalized and praised. Diligence and self-realization? Awesome!!! Working so much you forget to eat, sleep and socialize? Not okay under any circumstances.
Episode 2 board is coming along
Sometimes, there's too much fork in the way and you forget how to soup.
👀bad kids
each year congress people should be required to go on a field trip where they each get dumped in the middle of a random u.s. town & handed a phone with google maps & forced to find their way back to washington solely through the use of local public transportation systems.
to be clear i don't think this would improve our political reality in any way, but it would be fun to watch
