You know, the real reason Nureyev thought getting caught and arrested by Juno was one of the best nights of his life is not just because Juno is very cute. It's because it's one of the few times that it's actually been safe for Nureyev to fail at something.

As a child, if he failed to steal food, he'd either go hungry or have to face death from the sky.

He failed to protect Slip from his name and Slip died because of it.

Failing to make his debt payments on time gets Slip killed.

And he failed to get the mask for Miasma the day before he met Juno and probably got in a heap of trouble for it. If he fails to get it again, at best she fires him and at worst she kills him.

But failing to not get caught by Juno Steel? What's the risk in that?

He knows after watching Juno interrogate Cassandra that Juno won't hurt him. Juno is going to try to understand him, to empathize with him. And then he's going to send him into police custody, which Nureyev knows he can escape easily.

Failing to dupe Juno Steel isn't dangerous at all. Juno won't hurt him. Juno is safe and therefore Nureyev is too. He even allows himself to have some fun with Juno.

And that makes that night one of the best and most stress-free of Nureyev's entire life.
