Teen’s organs failing & NO TREATMENT in >1 MONTH
19-year-old Khalil Al Habil's liver and kidneys are failing. Shrapnel damage from the bombardment that killed his baby brother Omar has gone mostly untreated due to a lack of funds and resources. The ill effects of this damage have progressed to the point that the organs are losing their ability to function. Khalil urgently needs 3 rounds of treatment to combat the effects of his deteriorating liver and kidneys.
We've paid off the first round of treatments but Khalil has two treatments that he still needs. The second costs about $1,250 usd, but we haven’t made much progress in more than a month and his condition is getting progressively worse. We need to meet this second goal ASAP!!!
Current: $10,052 out of $10,407 usd (12 May)
Need to raise: $355 usd
Hello, my name is Khalil, I'm 19 years old, from Gaza.
Vetting information linked in the last reblog of this post, courtesy of murderbot
Khalil is in so much pain that he can barely access the internet to contact me.
The lethargy and fatigue caused by his deteriorating organ function only make reaching out more difficult. He is in very, very bad shape, and I’m extremely worried about him.
With a price of $1500 for the treatment for his failing organs, and $500 for supplementary medications, this is where we are for round 3:
Current: $11,800 out of $12,407 usd (18 July)
Need to meet temporary goal: $607 usd

observing classroom interactions. Our research represents thousands of encounters teens had with books they found most engaging: those that don't shy away from the complexities of being human or the different ways of being human in a diverse society. And, yes, books that shared qualities with those being challenged or banned in unprecedented numbers.
Here’s what we learned. The students, most of whom reported previously reading little or nothing, started reading like crazy-in and out of school-and their reading achievement improved. While this was the initial motivation for the teachers, it became the least interesting outcome. Students reported becoming better people, a change also noticed by their parents and peers. Reading engaging narratives about characters with complicated lives, they reported, helped them become more empathetic, less judgmental, more likely to seek multiple viewpoints, morally stronger, and happier. Yes, happier. They reported improved self-control, and building more and stronger friendships and family relationships.
Central to these changes, they explained, were conversations about the books with peers, teachers, or family members-whoever they could recruit for different perspectives on provocative or confusing parts. They pestered others, including parents, to read the books. Parents reported welcoming opportunities for conversations, conveniently through book characters, about drugs, sex, relationships, and depression. The image of young people reading “dangerous” books alone, in secret, and in distress, was neither what we observed nor what the students described.
Initially, we too were cautious about some books until we learned how off-base adults can be in their hypotheses about what young adults take away from them. Students described characters’ questionable decisions as cautionary tales, not narratives to live into, a concept they found laughable, plausible only to someone who hadn’t read the book. The books helped them to see the consequences of problematic decisions and language. Because they all brought different experiences and purposes to their reading, the conversations were constantly lively, meaningful, even philosophical, and relationship-building. The /end ID]

Okay well it's actually pretty well reviewed.

Homeless mom of 2 needs help in Gaza
Maha and her family previously had a verified GFM to pay for basic necessities like food, medical care, and some form of shelter. Horrifically, the person running their former GFM has stolen from them and hijacked their campaign.
Below is Maha’s new GFM. Her previous GFM was vetted by el-shab-hussein and nabulsi on their vetted campaign master list, on line 163.
I am physiotherapist Ahmed Khalil Al-Habil from palestine _Gaza I have been dis… Ahmed Alhabil needs your support for Support My Family To
URGENT: Hospital eviction imminent
Maha has been hospitalized due to serious complications from an infected tooth. She is particularly vulnerable to this type of infection, which almost killed her last year. Thankfully her husband has returned from Egypt, but both he and Maha are unable to work and thus cannot pay for her hospital bills. They are over $1,500 usd in debt for her treatment and Maha is about to be kicked out of the hospital.
As I said, last year a very similar infection almost took Maha’s life. If she is expelled from the hospital, a worsened infection is an inevitability. She still has a high fever and needs to remain hospitalized. PLEASE help her continue life-saving treatment!!
Current: €2,26 out of €3,012 (18 July)
NEED: €986 EUR or about $1,138 usd
No one cared about the white people not being Greek and speaking in American accents in The Odyssey. But you make the beautiful woman that was hatched from an egg black and suddenly we have a problem.
Except we don’t because none of you give two shits about “accuracy” until there’s a person of colour in the project.
People were crying their eyes out online because someone FAN casted an Indian woman as Rapunzel. Suddenly talking about how no,no she has to be German it’s so important to the story.
But then the project gets greenlit and no one in that movie is German but they’re all white so no one cares.
Same fucking people who said Rue in the Hunger Games being played by a black girl ruined the story for them. Despite the fact that Rue is described as being black in the books.
You don’t care about accuracy you’re all just a bunch of fucking racists who want to erase black and brown folk from these stories.
You don’t want us in period pieces because you like to pretend we didn’t exist back in the ”the good ol days.” You don’t like us in romances cause you’d rather die than admit you can be attracted to us or admit that we’re capable of being loved.
You don’t like us in fantasy or action because what kind of power fantasy is it if it’s not an all white paradise. You like us in horror but only if we die a horrible death to further the story of a white protagonist.
You like us in comedies and dramas but only if we’re the butt of the joke to make you feel better about yourselves. You hate and review bomb any piece of media about us, made for is, by us because it’s not about you.
Even Black Panther had to have a sympathetic white guy for you to relate too. Cause god forbid you watch a movie with only black people and you find yourself enjoying and even relating to them.
It’s not about accuracy and it never has been and quite frankly even if it was I don’t think the people who’s history includes doing black and yellow face and who still continue to whitewash POC roles get to complain about this.
Oh I’m sorry was it accuracy when you lot were painting your skin yellow because having an actual East Asian person in your movie was “too ethic” for your audiences to handle?
Was it accuracy when you made Dr Doom, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, the Ancient One, Jubilee, Heathcliff, Bane, Ra’s and Talia Al Ghul white when they aren’t?
You didn’t care than so don’t fucking pretend that you care now.
Please stop buying Harry Potter, a free zine. Printed January 2026. Feel free to copy and distribute in book stores, libraries, neighborhood little libraries, and at conventions and conferences. No credit required. See this guide for how to cut and fold this single-page, one-sided zine.
Transcript of the zine:
Page 1: Please stop buying Harry Potter. Harry Potter is a worldwide phenomenon. Unfortunately, J.K. Rowling is using the popularity of the series to attack transgender people’s human rights.
Page 2: Recently, there has been a moral panic about trans people. A lot of it is recycled from anti-gay rights campaigns in the past.
Image descriptions: The first image features a man holding a protest sign that reads, "NO Men in Women's Bathrooms." The second image shows a Daily Mail article headline that reads, "Children 'Put At Risk' By Gender Ideology In Schools." The third image shows a newspaper article about Anita Bryant that reads, "Popular singer became known for opposition to gay rights." The picture of Anita Bryant shows a protest sign that reads, "Sign petition here to repeal Metro's 'gay' blunder! Save our children from homosexuals!"
Page 3: To be clear: Trans people have existed throughout human history and across cultures. Suggested reading for trans history: Transgender History (Stryker), Trans History (Combs & Eakett), Before Gender (Erlick).
Page 4–5: J.K. Rowling is not just "being mean" on Twitter.
Yes, she bullies trans people and cis women she thinks are trans. She also funds hate groups and spreads dangerous misinformation to her millions of followers. In 2024, she donated 70,000 British pounds to an anti-trans organization’s effort to petition the U.K. Supreme Court to take away trans rights. They won.
Image descriptions: Five newspaper headlines. Headline one reads, "JK Rowling accused of 'Holocaust Denial' over posts about transgender persecution in Nazi Germany." Headline two reads, "JK Rowling and Elon Musk named in Imane Khelif's lawsuit over Olympics gender row. Rowling referred to the boxer as a ‘male’ and accused her of ‘enjoying the distress of a woman he’s just punched in the head.’" Headline three reads, "JK Rowling donates £70k for legal challenge on defining a woman." Headline four reads, "How JK Rowling funded a legal battle that curtailed trans rights in the UK." Headline five reads, "Harry Potter and the Supreme Court Ruling - are the new cast tainted by association?"
A screenshot of a Twitter post by JK Rowling dated April 16, 2025 shows Rowling sitting on her yacht while smoking a cigar. She wrote, "I love it when a plan comes together. #Supreme Court #Women's Rights."
Page 6: J.K. Rowling has said that any support for Harry Potter tells her that she is right and that people support her anti-trans actions. She is using her immense wealth, fame, and social power to violate human rights. Any attention or money that the Harry Potter franchise gets goes directly to harming trans people.
Page 7: "But what if my child asks for Harry Potter?" We often underestimate children's intelligence. Tell them what I’m telling you: Harry Potter’s creator is using her fame and money to attack a vulnerable group of people. As long as she is doing this, we cannot support her by giving her money and attention.

📍 From Gaza to Graduate School —
Day 1 | The Day I Graduated
This photo marks one of the happiest moments of my life. After years of studying Computer Systems Engineering—and after watching war interrupt so many plans—I finally saw these words: "Officially Bachelor in Computer Systems Engineering." It wasn't just a degree. It was proof that even when everything around me became uncertain, I could still hold on to one thing: Education. That day, I made a promise to myself: I wouldn't stop here. Today, that promise has become a Master's admission. But every journey has another mountain to climb, and mine is finding a way to continue. Over the next few days, I'd like to share my story—not just about the challenges I've faced, but about the hope that keeps me moving forward.
Thank you for being here. ❤️ If you'd like to support my Master's journey, you'll find my fundraiser below.

Day 2 — Why I Refused to Give Up
There were many moments when giving up would have been the easiest choice.
Classes were interrupted.
Electricity was unreliable.
Internet access disappeared for days.
The future felt uncertain more times than I can count.
More than once, I asked myself:
"Is it still worth continuing?"
Each time, my answer was the same.
Yes.
Not because it was easy.
But because I believed education was one of the few things that war could not take away from me.
That belief carried me through my bachelor's degree.
It led me to my Master's admission.
And today, it keeps me fighting to protect that opportunity.
Tomorrow, I'll share why graduating wasn't enough—and why I decided to create Isnad to support other students in Gaza.

I love when people ask "how did you learn this skill?" I just started, there's no secret. that's it. a vast majority of the time the only thing holding you back is your trepidation to start.
90% of being good at ANYTHING
is the ability to not quit when you're not instantly good at it. And the ability to be BAD at something where other people might SEE.
Talent counts for jack all if you're attacking yourself the moment you start for not being perfect and then quitting to punish yourself.
This is a lot to unpack
WAR REACHED MY BABY'S HOSPITAL BED TONIGHT WITHOUT MERCY.
Tonight, the hospital where baby Qais was receiving treatment came under attack. Even there, where I believed he might finally be safe, the nightmare found us again.
The attack cut the power, and the machines supporting baby Qais in intensive care stopped. During the chaos, flames spread through the hospital, leaving him with second-degree burns. If compassion still exists somewhere, please don't let this be the end of his fight.
I am begging you as a persecuted mother in Gaza, watching my baby bleed in front of me, unable to stop it. Please donate now and help me save his life before it’s too late.
Please donate now Gofundme
I never imagined my child would survive bombs only to face another battle inside a hospital. I am begging you from the depths of my heart—please help baby Qais continue his treatment. Every donation gives us another chance to keep fighting for his life.
Donations have completely stopped, and today the hospital administration warned they may expel us because I cannot afford my baby Qais’s treatment anymore. Please, I beg you through my tears, donate now before my child is abandoned without care.
Tonight, I realized that even a hospital could not protect my baby from this war. I am a mother with nothing left except prayers and strangers' kindness. Please donate today and help baby Qais continue the treatment he still desperately needs.
