Bucky Barnes and his beautiful body.(this is a replica of a photo except I changed the model into Bucky XD)
Happy 109th Birthday Borky đ
This will be the anti post-Endgame!Steve Rogers post, so if you defend or like his "happy ending," this most likely isn't for you.
How did we get to the point where people defend and pity post-Endgame!Steve for escaping to the past, because the poor guy is now "suffering", because he "HAS to live with the knowledge that bad things will happen and he CAN'T do anything about it"? And that's the "worst part"?
Like... what?
People hate on Howard and Peggy, because "What If" revealed they might have heard rumors that maybe that super-deadly russian assassin was Bucky, who's been dead for X years, and because they were stupid and/or incompetent enough to let Hydra take over SHIELD⊠But for some reason we're supposed to feel sorry for post-Endgame!Steve? Again - what?
Steve chose to abandon his friends and flee into the past. No one put a gun to his head, tortured him or forced him. He chose it. And I'm supposed to feel sorry for him
The directors and writers of Endgame said post-Endgame!Steve was a "stay-at-home husband," "didn't interfere" or "it was all a time loop and he was always here." Regardless of which version you choose, unless Doomsday explicitly shows otherwise, post-Endgame!Steve consciously chose to live his imagined happy life and let his "friends" suffer.
And you know what? I don't know about your countries, but in mine if someone fails to provide help and knowingly and deliberately withholds information about a crime they know is about to happen, they are an accomplice and can go to jail for it.
Post-Endgame!Steve is complicit in the suffering of people who considered him a friend, and I will never, ever feel an ounce of sympathy or compassion for him. If the baby and/or Peggy are endangered/hurt/murdered/have to leave their world/anything happens - that will be the consequence of post-Endgame!Steve's choices.
And no one will tell me that "he couldn't do anything", "he had no choice", "he couldn't change the timeline" - don't talk bullshit. It's not true. And you know why? Because post-Endgame!Steve has already drastically altered that timeline and created a massive butterfly effect. How? By erasing from existence the children, grandchildren and other descendants who would have descended from Peggy and her original husband. You can't just erase people from existence and add new ones without causing a massive change.
I love Steve from CA:TFA to IW, but this man from Endgame and post-Endgame? He's not my Steve.
And unless Doomsday proves otherwise, he is complicit in all of this by doing nothing and being the only one who could have:
the ancient texts...
I might be totally wrong but I don't believe the "it was original fiction first repurposed as Stucky fic for ao3 kudos" thing. I suspect she's saying that because... maybe it's not a great idea to insist that a whole franchise was inspired by characters that are propriety of Disney. I don't know. But while it is true that this particular AU doesn't really have much in common with the canon features of Steve and Bucky's relationship, it has a lot of elements that were common in the Stucky fandom at the time. If you are familiar with circa-2016 Stucky AU fanfiction you get it, right? It's such a perfectly fitting story in the panorama of the Stucky fandom at the time.
I can totally be wrong, uh. But this is my feeling.
I just read Game Changer and even the minor characters are INSTANTLY recognizable as parallels to the MCU. Come on now, woman.
Its been a long time since I've posted so... Here's a slutty vintage Christmas Steve!
Redraw of this one I posted last year!:D (except he's in a sauna now)
DOOMSDAY TRAILER THOUGHTS/SPOILERS BELOW. DO NOT OPEN IF YOURE TRYING TO AVOID SPOILERS ABOUT THE TRAILERS <333
okay so doomsday trailer leaked and i am sooooo conflicted about steve returning in doomsday bc on the one hand⊠THATS MY BOY RIGHT THERE OMG STEVIE YOU HAVE BEEN SO MISSED đ„čđ„čđđ potentially new stevebucky content?!?!?! like? fuckkk i hope they donât bring him back just to destroy his character some more bc iâve missed him sm..
on the other hand from the trailer it appears they doubled down on his ending and want to feed us more steggy that noone asked for (i literally could not care less about their baby) + it does feel cruel to sam who IS captain america and has been given literally crumbs so far :///
and i just know this is going to come w more steve hate my twitter is already crawling with it but its not steve fault marvel are uncreative & have done a terrible job with the new era & establishing characters so theyâve had to nostalgia bait. heâs just a boyyyy leave pls steve outta this đ„ș

Sebastian Stan on playing Bucky Barnes in Thunderbolts.
"I love when they allow me to play a little bit of the duality. Thatâs what I love about Bucky. I love that even though heâs come a long way, heâs still carrying his whole life experience with him. Heâs not a totally different person. Heâs always going to have those things that made him who he is, good and bad, and it gives a different flavor to the choices that you make as an actor.
And this, it feels like this is a very similar group. They could all go both ways. Theyâre running away from the thing that scares them. They are running away from themselves. They are running away from the pain they didnât deal with, the guilt that theyâve accumulated, from being out in the world and doing terrible things."
nothing on this god's green earth can convince me that peter parker doesn't have an ao3 account where he is elbows deep in a 'rise of skywalker' fix-it fic. like, fully invested in it, been writing it pre-spider bite with ned, who is just as enthusiastic about it. but the thing is, it's really hard to do updates when you are literally spider-man.
every three months he'll post and in the author's note there's some shit like "sorry this took a while, i got shot seven times :/" or "i know it's been a minute, i literally got hit by a bus and then stabbed in the leg, but i'm all good!" or sometimes ned would log in and post with a note "hey i'm a friend posting on the author's behalf, they're healing from severe hypothermia but promised an update, so here it is!"
and the fic just gets increasingly more popular for the author notes alone. a good handful of the comments are something along the lines of "i'm not even in the star wars fandom, i'm just here to see if the author is good" or "every update i cheer for another day the author gets to live at this point"
and any reader who is a native new yorker kind of pieces together that holy shit the author might be spider-man because the timeline adds up, and they just fully embrace it. spider-man will stop a robbery and the guy behind the counter will ask when the next chapter will be up. spider-man returns a stolen backpack to a girl and she'll tell him that he "really got poe's voice down so well, it's really impressive."
ned thinks it is hilarious. mj finds out about the fic from twitter, to peter's absolute horror, and changes peter's contact name to "friendly neighborhood ao3 author". but the worst thing to happen is after an avengers battle where peter took a pretty big hit and ends up in med-bay. and during a press conference, when someone asks how spider-man is healing, tony just drops "spidey won't be down for too long. the star wars fic will be updated within the week, probably."
ao3 goes down for two days.
Okay but like it makes no sense for steve to talk about peggy in the support group in endgame, like genuinely makes no sense. i know that marvel put it there to remind people of steveâs âstraightnessâ and how much he âlovesâ peggy. but it makes no sense, because even if that was the scenario, he wouldnât talk about peggy, he would talk about the people he lost in the snap. Bucky, sam, t'challa, wanda etc. So why would he not talk about them? well the only logical answer is that he canât talk about them because it just hurts too damn much, so he picks a safe topic, that wont have him crumbling to the floor AKA. peggy. Therefore we can deduce from this, that peggy is not as important to steve as anyone he lost in the snap, and marvelâs attemps at proving steveâs love for peggy, just prove how much he doesnt love her. In this essay i will-
no cuz itâs actually true.
in catfa when Steve grabbed his show props ready to walk to Austria, Buckyâs name was not mentioned even tho Peggy, someone whoâs only met him a couple of times, knew Steve was doing this not for the troop but Bucky alone. plus the fact that Steve got so angry & was completely in denial abt the possibility that Bucky might be dead when Peggy suggested that.
after Bucky fell, Steve didnât even use a pronoun to refer to Bucky or that heâs âdeadâ in the entire conversation w Peggy.
âyou lost someone?â he asked Sam, but didnât offer his own story because he still couldnât bring himself to open up about Buckyâs death, itâs only been 2 years for Steve after all. (donât forget it was IN the original script, the onlywatsonian explanation is that Steve decided NOT to say it.) itâs probably also true that Steve never talked about Bucky until he pulled the mask off the Winter Soldierâs face.
so yeah, op has a solid point.
#I (35M) crashed Coping With Snap Bereavements Group to talk about woman I didnât date who died of natural causes years before the SnapâŠ#âŠwhich I mentioned IMMEDIATELY when I found out I was sitting next was apparently a self-confessed gay. AITA??#đŹ
LMAOOO
if ur ship is so fragile that the mere mention of the existence of friends is a threat to it#maybe the ship is fucking non-existent to begin with??#steve isnât even allowed to be friends with SAM now??
^^^^^^^^^^
Half of what if season two is about Peggy and Steveâs impossible love. Like. Have you not established that they end up together five years ago by turning all of Steveâs character arc upside down?
How can you depict impossible love about a couple that is fully canon??
And most of all, who in their right mind thought that copying Steveâs âplatonicâ moments with a dude and pasting them on Steve and Peggyâs straight but completely flavorless relationship to make them âromanticâ was a good idea?
Like????
Either the dude (generic term) in charge of the Steggy storyline in what if is very stupid or theyâre a flipping genius for giving Stucky fans the proof that, had Bucky been born with a đ± and two đ, the story would be much different
Captain Carter's "I could do this all day" was WEAK.
Steve was a disabled man and the son of Irish Catholic immigrants (not a big deal now, but definitely not popular in his day) and he was poor. The odds were stacked against him. But he didn't give in. Every day he chose to fight. He stood up for what he believed in. He didn't let the bullies teach him he didn't matter. He didn't let them bully him out of his beliefs. He stood strong.
That's why his "I could do this all day" was special. It was a man who had the odds stacked against him standing up to the bullies and refusing. Refusing to give in. Refusing to stop. Refusing to believe he was worthless. Refusing to give up the right against injustice.
And without all of that struggle, Peggy's "I could do this all day" means nothing. It's weak. I can't believe they had her say it when it has so much meaning from Steve and none from her.
FOR REAL!
AND THEN SHE COULDN'T EVEN DO IT FOR HALF A MINUTE-
the idea that a rich, white upper-class woman and the chronically ill and disabled son of irish immigrants, who was raised dirt-poor in a single-parent household in the slums of brooklyn, who probably got told every day that he was a drain on resources and society just for existing (eugenics and eugenicist doctrine was reaaaaallly popular in the 20s and 30s, jsyk), who was derided and snubbed and spat at and beaten on for his illnesses and his heritage and social class, who nearly died so many times in childhood because of his chronic conditions, who had to fight every day to survive and be taken seriously in a world that didnât want him to be alive-
are in any way comparable is laughable and quite frankly just an offense to everything that steve is, what he represents, and how he rose from being the impoverished sickly child of a mother who doted on him when nobody else thought he was worth giving a damn about, to being a paragon of courage, freedom, justice and individual worth and rights
Bucktober Day 31 - Smile
