Seventeen years ago, I was merely a freshmen in high school. I lived thirty miles from Ground Zero and could see the towers from our town's hills. That day, I didn't here anything until 10:20am, just before my third period algebra class let out. I lived in commuter range, so when our school principal came on the loudspeaker, he accompanied the harrowing news with an announcement of where the counselors were. Students in area middle and elementary schools weren't told at all that day. In the days to come, the stories of grace I heard included tales of missed school buses that made commuting parents late, but there were other stories too. #911 #neverforget #iloveny #stillmyfavoriteskyline https://www.instagram.com/p/Bnm0bRhhgXt/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1rkbhu0wtkann
