Hey artists, C. Spike Trotman, founder of Iron Circus Comics, just posted an invaluable thread on depicting different types of black hair. I’d do the thing where you screencap the whole thread and post it but it’s just too long (which is great because it’s a whole lot of useful information!) Give her a follow while you’re there.
Anyway, go check it out. I just wanted to save it and share it because I didn’t know how much I didn’t know!
This is an amazing resource, not only for artists, but for writers too! I love this!

Just spur-of-the-moment decided to put together some reference for folks who want to draw/model black characters in their work, but arent confident they won’t make simple, obvious mistakes w/r/t black hair. Maybe you’ve seen posts like this before… but for us, this is not just another post. This is our reality.
There is no real safety, no stable access to food or medicine, and every day the conditions get worse.
What makes this even harder is that the donations have become very limited, and this is putting us in even more devastating conditions.
My father is still fighting to survive. He depends on daily medication, and without it, his life is at serious risk. Right now, we are struggling to provide what he needs because we simply cannot afford it anymore.
Please don’t let this become just another post you scroll past.
Stand with us. Donate and share 🙏❤️
📌🛑📌 Fundraiser vetted (#167 by el-shab-hussein & nabulsi), But we created a new GoFundMe page because GoFundMe suspended the beneficiary’s account on the platform, which put us in a very difficult situation.
If this page suddenly goes silent one day, know that my brother Samer didn’t make it. I will never forget those who saw him suffering from severe bombing injuries, lacking his vital medications, yet chose silence and kept scrolling.
I feel completely shattered and deeply ashamed begging strangers for help every single day. This endless nightmare has stripped us of everything, forcing me to sacrifice even my own dignity just to keep my brother and my family alive.
I want nothing from this world except to see Samer healthy and free of pain, and to save my family from this slow death. Please donate so we can afford his essential psychiatric and medical treatments before it’s too late.
Friends, thank you so much for the massive support and these 15 recent donations!
While this high engagement gives us hope, we deeply wish to see more donations matching this incredible reach. Our lives and Samer's survival depend entirely on your financial help. Please keep this momentum going.
Thank you so much for the 12 additional donations! My family consists of 12 people. We have already lost my father and my brother to this war, and we cannot afford to lose Samer.
36 kind souls proved my family of 12 are humans, not just numbers. But 36 drops cannot fill an ocean of urgent medical bills. Samer’s life depends on the next hand that reaches out. Please don't just scroll past. Help us keep his heart beating.
Gaza many people convinced themselves no longer needed attention because they thought the war was over. But here, the destruction never stopped. The entire Gaza Strip has been shattered by genocide, ethnic cleansing, hunger, fear, and endless loss. We will never forget, and we will never forgive those who watch our suffering in silence, as if our slow death means nothing.
Traumatized in Ireland While my Family is Facing Death and Starvation in Gaza
Has it become normal Now that the defenseless civilians in Gaza face death and starvation on a daily basis?

I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.
Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.
People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.
When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.
I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.
SOS!

Hello everynyan! I know I’ve been away for a long time, and many of you must’ve missed me (please say you missed me 🥹), but I’m here now and I NEED to get you guys on a manhwa series (with a novel!)
Please read “The Max-Level Player’s 100th Regression” / “The 100th Regression of the Max Level Player”
It’s very similar to stories like “Pick Me Up! Infinite Gacha” and “The World After the Fall”, with the plottwist that instead of handling everything alone, the protagonist is actually forced to form a team to beat the “rounds” (though Ryu Min does try to just solo whatever he can).
In the same vein, PLEASE read "Eternally Regressing Knight" / "The Knight Only Lives Today" (manhwa AND novel)!!
It's such a NICE story of a character that starts at the bottom, with nothing except restarting the day when he dies (like Groundhog Day and Subaru from Re:Zero, except he doesn't leave behind separate timelines when he dies).
The story might feel repetitive due to the fact that it's all just Enkrid/Encrid (MC) fighting, training, and learning, but I personally prefer that over stories where the protagonist only struggles a little bit, then concocts the perfect plan to effortlessly beat their enemy.
Enkrid goes through it, and that's what makes this story so special to me.
If you aren't convinced, maybe Enkrid can convince you himself 😏

There's a group that makes clothing with ink stained hands to show each time the fabric was touched with human hands to make the garment. The purpose of the piece is to bring attention to the hidden labor of sewists in the garment industry
