Outtakes
Working in a creative field has definitely got its perks. Time to stretch those creative muscles!
Beauty in the everyday things.
It's the tiny things that matter.
New job = sudden madness (but in a good way)
"Misplaced"
You know how souvenir name mugs are usually arranged in alphabetical order? The first time we were in New York (3 years ago) - we came across J+H mugs. You would expect to see the As... then the Bs... but before we even made it through the A names, I came across this. Both our name mugs, misplaced, but right next to each other.
I like to take it as a sign that the world has a way of bringing people together. That includes so many of you here that I've forged friendships with. Sylvia - now you know why your mugs mean so much to me. Thank you so so much for the handpainted (how amazing is she) gift!
Vitae Juice
Currently obsessed with these. Literally the best cold pressed juices I've tried so far. I'm basically trying to train my body (and taste buds) to like vegetables.. I figured it's easier to start with liquids! Maybe one day I'll start eating spinach and cucumbers...
PS - aren't my tiny succulents the cutest?

Finding the beauty in the crowd.
The best things come when you least expect it.
Including flowers! Went shopping and got flowers as a gift with purchase. Double score ^^
Herbs & Drinks
I used to love McFly but they sort of fell off my radar for a couple of years. Came across this a few days ago and I'm falling in love with them all over again. Especially Tom! There's something so special about the way he looks at her and sings about what's coming ahead.
So so sweet!
As we first landed in New York and started the roaming the streets, I remember being somewhat awestruck. The buildings, the architecture… the pure energy buzzing in the air. It was like we were in a whole new magical island. And it was kind of surreal being there with him. In that moment it felt like my entire life flashed in front of me; the past, the present…the future.
Travel if you can. Go on adventures. Explore the world. Fall in love with the places you discover and most importantly fall in love with that person that keeps you moving.
Boba Making
I've been making my own boba (pearls) for the last few months! Surprisingly easy to make.. and pretty much better than everything we normally get in Vancouver. This is not going to help my bubble tea addiction but at least I don't have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for bubble tea anymore :) Nomnomnom.
Work, Love & Life
Work - It's been surprisingly fun getting to know more people at work! I tend to be more on the shy side so it's more of a work in progress. From being more social, to having team lunches, cooking for one another.. baby steps!
Love - After almost 7 years together, Valentine's Day is really not a big deal to me. I was all ready to just cuddle, lie in bed and watch a marathon of walking dead episodes with J but he surprised me with a whole bunch of goodies (including my first Tiffany&Co. gift aaaah)! I love that after being together for so long, he still makes an effort to sweep me off my feet :)
Life - I'm a big sucker for reminiscing and all these polaroids just reminded me of the love I have for all these people! Some of these are from over 6 years ago. On the flip side, I've been trying to socialize a tiny bit more, and get to know more people outside my usual circle. Old friends, new friends, life.
Travel Friendly Beauty x Jan Favourites
As a small individual.. I tend to gravitate towards small things in general. Travel sized, miniature sized, bite sized - totally down my alley. The last few months for me involved flying back home, christmas parties, new year parties...etc. Tons of not everyday kind of events. As a girl, I love having some makeup with me for touchups. These were my favourites!
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer - This is a tiny compact that even comes with an awesome flat kabuki brush. I usually hated chocolate scented products but this one's fine by me! It goes on pretty soft and blends out nicely.
MUFE Lift Concealer - This is my go to when I need something that can double as a concealer and a "foundation". It's great for both under the eyes and the area around my nose (which is the only place I normally put foundation on)
Benefit Benetint - If I could only use one makeup product - it would be a blush. A tiny bit goes a long way and this gives a cute sheer rosy tint!
Share some of your favourites with me :)
Lush Pots
As excited as I am to get a free fresh mask for every 5 pots I bring back to the store... I can't bear to give these up. Hoarding at its best. Good thing they're all still filled with the finest and freshest.
Fresh Rose Face Mask
I'm usually quite a sucker for anything that has rose in it. Sephora has some awesome deluxe samples you can choose with your purchase every now and then.. and well.. how could I possibly say no to a rose face mask?
Ironically enough, I hate the scent of this. I can detect the scent of roses which I love but I think its the green tea that annoys me. Or maybe some combination of the cucumber/green tea/rose that gives me a headache. I wouldn't really say this smells like rose petals..
Scent aside, I think the best part of this mask is its toning effect. My skin feels soft, supple and for a lack of a better term - balanced. It only gives me a standard level of hydration (nothing special) but it really does tone my skin beautifully! Helps tighten and soften your skin, and gives it a nice subtle natural glow. Can't really decide if I'm willing to put up with the scent for the effects...
Give your all to me I'll give my all to you You're my end and my beginning Even when I lose I'm winning Cause I give you all of me And you give me all of you...
