Alloace Susie means so much to me like ahghgb girl who is assumed to be rough and tough and aggressive, but really just wants to hold hands and kiss and spend time together. Not like she’d ever admit to sappy shit like that. Not like she thinks anyone would ever see her as someone pretty and soft and lovable anyway.
Alongside Noelle, who by contrast is supposed to be a nice, good Girl who puts others’ feelings first and bites her tongue. But secretly she wants that girl SO bad. She’s having very normal teenage desires that she isn’t Allowed to have because they’re treating her like a glass doll. And that’s not even bringing up her dynamic with Kris, the complex push and pull of wanting to be close and yet feeling like your childhood bond was “forced”. Lesbian deer.
Kris is just… so alloaro, feeling smothered and grossed out by the pressure to be in a relationship with people they otherwise deeply care about (Noelle and Ralsei), immense feelings of guilt and inadequacy, the whole heart-shaped object thing. They want to be close to people but not like that!! But also they’re really good at flirting. They must be heartless. Soulless. You see?
Berdly thinks Noelle has a crush because that’s clearly the only reason someone would want to spend time with him!! And then immediately “falls for” someone who is nice to him and shares an interest in games. And then asks for someone to kiss him back to life only to flee when he might actually be kissed. He has no goddamn clue what attraction is.
Ralsei, Ralsei, Ralsei. She sees herself as a servant to others, made to comfort and encourage and never see to her own desires. She’s devoted to Kris and even apologizes for getting “distracted” from them. They become closer as they become less romantically bound and more genuine friends. Meanwhile, her crush on Susie is natural and wonderful. And forbidden. She’s supposed to be devoted to Kris— especially if the prophecy somehow dooms Susie’s bond with them. But… she’s such a nice person, isn’t she?
