J.R.R. Tolkien was my earliest inspiration with regards to exploring genealogies and how far they may be traced back. He also had a large influence with regards to my interest in European mythology and lore.

Noah's Ark: The Anthropology of Genesis

An anthropological study linking many ancient European and Asiatic tribes to Noah and providing overwhelming evidence of the deluge.

I am asking patrons to help me out financially so I have the time to complete my book on Noah and the great flood in two years. Half of the book has been written already, and within the next two years I will be able to finish it if I have the help I am asking for. The research for the book has been collected over a number of years and I am simply asking for funds to finish putting the remaining chapters together. If I can reach twice my goal, I will be able to finish it in a year.

This is one question which was asked of me by someone interested in my work: 

Is this an objective point of view or do you believe in any religion?

My answer:

I try to be as objective as I can when I conduct my research and do my writing. I do believe in God, but I don’t follow any single religion, and my goal is not to promote one religion over another. My work is based primarily on anthropology and the scientific study of man. With regards to Noah, I am finding substantial evidence collected from non Biblical sources which back up what we find in the Book of Genesis.

I am finding two things that stand out the most in my research which my book is primarily based upon. Firstly, cultures residing (or once having existed) on both hemispheres of the Earth tell of a cataclysmic flood which occurred at some very remote period of time which swept away previous cultures and civilizations. This seems to have occurred at the end of the Pleistocene (the Ice Age), which also corresponded with a major shift in human culture, the end of the Paleolithic (the Old Stone Age).

The second factor I am finding is that cultures residing in West Eurasia (including Egypt), provide strong evidence, in various ways, of the existence of Noah, or otherwise one of his sons or grandsons mentioned in the Book of Genesis. This evidence is taken mainly through the study of mythology, art, architecture, linguistics, and other cultural elements. It is then cross-examined against studies in plant, animal, and human biology. In this way several cultures show links which I am able to trace back to an origin with Noah and his descendants. Some of the primary (ancient or modern) ethnolinguistic groups I have studied in this way which I am able to demonstrate this link through include the Celts, the Norse/Germanic tribes, the Greeks, the Iranians, the Indus Valley Civilization, the Ancient Egyptians, the Hebrew people, the Phoenicians and most other Semitic groups. Generally speaking it links the Indo-Europeans, the Semitic peoples, Ancient Egypt, and the Indus Valley Civilization back to Noah. The very early origins of Chinese Civilization along the Yellow River also demonstrates parallels that link its rise back to the cultural and technological elements brought (or saved), by Noah and his family.

The body of evidence I provide is substantial and my work is conducted meticulously and thoroughly. Noah and his family were not the only people to survive the flood, but what I am able to demonstrate is that they founded cultures that survived until this day. They seem to have arrived from a civilization which collapsed at the hands of the flood. They brought with them their knowledge of higher civilization to the flood survivors dwelling in Eurasia who seemed to have been still living in the Stone Age up until that period.

An ethno-linguistic map of pre-contact North America. In my book “Noah’s Ark” the myths and legends of the Native Americans are compared to those of Europe and the Near East which demonstrate a global memory of a great flood.

I have just launched my kickstarter campaign for my book “Noah’s Ark: The Anthropology of Genesis.” It is based on all branches of anthropology, with a large emphasis on mythology and archaeology. I also reference Edgar Cayce, the Bible, the Qur’an, the Gathas and the Vedas in the book as additional proof and reference of the event. I combine these studies with geology and the biology of plants and animals.

The deep love and devotion between Akhenaten and Nefertiti is immortalized here as they sit with their daughters and have the light of God (or Aten in their language) pouring down upon them. He reigned in Egypt during the 14th century B.C.E., and attempted to bring about a monotheistic breakaway from the traditional polytheism of ancient Egypt. Because of this, the later pharaohs attempted to wipe out all memory of his name, labeling him a heretic.

The ancient Iranians are one of the cultures studied in the book linked to Noah’s descendants, as are the ancient Celts, the Norse, and other Indo-European groups.

An Iron Age Celtic Chieftain’s roundhouse. Sadly the demographic with the highest death rate among the Celts were females between 12 and 25. This says a lot when one takes into account the amount of warfare the men engaged in - often completely naked so to strike terror in the hearts of their opponents with a display of fearlessness. The Celts were by no means “barbarians” as the Romans and Greeks would identify them. They had a deep spiritual understanding of the immortality of the soul, the importance of truth and rightful conduct, and a broad knowledge of astrology. They practiced forms of skull and brain surgery, poetry, engaged in trade, and invented a number of things which the Romans and others later copied from chainmail armor and the scutum shield to road building techniques and mining technology.

“The Lovers” unearthed in northwest Iran by archaeologists from the University of Pennsylvania and the Metropolitan Museum of New York in 1972. The grave only contained a stone slab under the head of the skeleton on the left. They are estimated to have died together around 4000 BCE. My book “Noah’s Ark: The Anthropology of Genesis,” deals with the great flood and the origins of civilization. The idea of love is something often overlooked in anthropology as one of the primary driving forces behind human action and motivation. -H.J.N.

In my book “Noah’s Ark: The Anthropology of Genesis,” the origins of the dragon myth and it’s occurrence in many cultures is examined. Many scholars have attempted to understand and explain how this creature, (which is both complex in it’s physical characteristics, and not found in nature) could show up in so many mythologies. Pictured here is a Scythian golden torc from Central Asia dating between the 2nd century BCE - 1st CE. This was over 1000 years prior to the arrival of the Mongol hordes and the tragic decimation of the Indo-European populations of the area. The Scythians were cousins to the Persians and spoke a language that was mutually understandable without the need of translators. Upon the arrival of the Huns, and later Mongols, most of the Scythians left their ancient homelands of the great Eurasian steppes and fled to settle finally in Iran, the Carpathians, France, and Spain. -H.J.N.
