I've been thinking about werewolves again. From a writing standpoint. Because (barring cannibalism) usually the only way you become a werewolf is by surviving an attack. And then you're cursed to be a monster as well. You have to deal with the trauma of the attack itself, as well as the whole 'becoming the thing that hurt you in the first place'. And there's so much untapped potential for an incredible healing journey where someone comes to terms with what they are and over time accepts that while the curse will always be part of them, that doesn't mean they have to be the monster. Maybe they learn to control it, maybe they just get better at coping.

It's such a powerful storyline that I just... haven't seen done. Sexy werewolves are great, keep it up, but I want to see tragedy too. More than that, I want to see healing.
