The fancy Redwinged Blackbird with potential bilateral gynandromorphism is still around, here are some more clips from the last couple of days. I have not edited them other than stringing them together for this video. This is how they were recorded. Every time I think it must be a molt, this bird turns around and looks completely like a female. So intriguing. It also has a lot of red on the face.

They're ultimately just melanistic gray squirrels (although they make the term "gray" a bit of a misnomer), but I still love them all the same

a freaking rose-breasted grosbeak just came to visit my feeder…while i was standing in my neighbors yard chatting without a phone…a lifer just dropped down and hung out like it was no big deal while i had no way to capture the sighting. eternal torment for a birder
