My name is Waleed Ayman Alanqar, 27, a father, husband and respected Electrical Engineer from Gaza Strip. I had a peacefull life along with my beloved wife, Areej, 23, and my precious 3-year old son, Ayman.
Sadly, our lives have been devastated since the beginning of the war. We have been forced to leave the comfort of our house to seek shelter in a safer place, but unfortunately, it turned out that there's no such a thing as a "safe place" in Gaza. Now, we are in a state of constant movement and displacement.
With all the dangers looming around and with the constant state of fear and uncertainity, I have become deeply worried about the safety of my family. For that reason, I have decided to turn to you, Tumblr community, for help. Please, help me raise the necessary funds to safely evacuate my family from war-torn Gaza.

11 months ago, we have left our memories in our sweet home to seek refuge in a safer place. Since then, we have not seen our house again! In addition, I have been informed that our memories have been crushed and our home has been damaged! For a small family like us, home means everything. It means warmth, comfort and safety. Ayman Growing Up in War
My beloved son, Ayman, is now 3 years old, which means that he literally lived the third of his life in war! As a father, I am not only worried about the safety and survival of my precious child, but also about the psychological impacts on him. I want my child to grow up in safe and proper environment. It is his right!
My Professional Career
Before the war, I used to work as an electrical engineer at a big tech company. I was advancing fast in my career and dreaming of establishing my own company someday, however; my dreams are now vanished. I no longer work. My savings have been drained out. All I am thinking about now is how to secure my family and ensure their survival.
Hunger, the harshest of pains

My name is Lena Khames, a 27-year-old wife to my husband, Mohammed, and a proud mother of three beautiful children: our daughter Yasmmen and our two sons, Ali and Adam.
We come from Al-Zahraa in the Gaza Strip. I have a diploma in e-commerce, but our once stable and hopeful life has been shattered by the devastation of war, leaving us struggling to rebuild.
Our world collapsed when a missile targeted our home, reducing it to rubble in an instant 💔. The home we had built with $40,000, a place where we had hoped to raise our children in peace, was completely destroyed. We have been left homeless, with nothing but memories of what we once had.
Our family has been forced to move repeatedly 💔due to the conflict. After being displaced from our home by military force to a supposedly "safe" area, we quickly learned there is no safe place in Gaza. Each time the danger intensified, we had to flee again, struggling to protect our children from the violence that surrounded us. Today, we live in a tent under unbearable conditions, without even the most basic necessities.
In one of the many attacks, my husband, already suffering from a previous injury, was seriously wounded in his leg 💔. He now requires continuous medical care and a special device to help him walk again. To make matters worse, my husband lost his brother Mahmoud in the conflict—his brother died in his arms while they were inspecting the ruins of our home. The emotional and physical pain has weighed heavily on him, and on all of us.
Adding to our burden, my husband also lost his car—the sole source of income for our family— 💔 which had cost him $20,000. This loss has left us without any means of financial support, making it nearly impossible to care for our children and ensure their safety.

We are seeking to raise €100,000 to help secure a temporary place for our family, as we are currently living in a tent and our children desperately need a safe and stable environment. The funds will also allow us to begin rebuilding our home, which was destroyed, and restore the stability and hope we once had. Don't be a completionist. It will drain the fun out of your hobby. You will be forced to look at expensive figures that you don't even like, just because they happen to be part of a set
Buy figures because you actually like them. Buy them because you like looking at them, because they're fun to display, and because they bring you joy
When you get the urge to buy, don't immediately give in. Try spending some time maintaining the figures you already have. Fix their hair, if the have any, dust them off, and rearrange them
Don't buy the figure you want first chance you get. They always get relisted eventually. Take note of the prices and wait until there's a decent offer up. If you just buy it first chance you get, you may scam yourself out of a lot of money
Supply and demand affect prices, but "rarity" is a useless term used to price gouge
Never use figures as an investment. Figure markets are volatile as hell, and you're likely to just lose money on it
Rinse your figures if you get them used. Just give them a quick scrub in soapy water. You have no idea where they've been
Please please please dust off your figures every once in a while, even if you keep them in a cabinet. It's better to dust them off regularly than allow the dust to cement itself onto their surface
A NIB figure is not a maintenance-free figure. Please inspect the box regularly, check that the figure isn't suffering from plasticizer leakage, water damage, bugs, dried-up rubber bands, or any other pests. If possible, remove the figure from its packaging and inspect it every once in a while.
Make the hobby your own. If you want to customize a rare figure or remove a it from its box, do it. Even if other collectors tell you not to do it. Especially if other collectors tell you not to do it. This is YOUR hobby and YOUR collection!
