Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov was a lieutenant colonel of the Soviet Air Defence Forces who became known as “the man who single-handedly saved the world from nuclear war” for his role in the 1983 Soviet nuclear false alarm incident. The incident was unknown to the public until it was revealed shortly before the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.

On 26 September 1983, during the Cold War, the satellite-based early-warning system of the Soviet Union reported the launch of multiple intercontinental ballistic missiles from the United States. At the time, tensions with the U.S. were on edge, and high officials of the Soviet Union, including General Secretary Yuri Andropov, were thought to be highly suspicious of a U.S. attack.

Petrov checked ground-based radars which had not detected a launch, noted that the warning system had detected only 1-5 missiles instead of the hundreds that would have been expected in the event of a first strike, and chose to mark the system alert as a false alarm. This decision is seen as having prevented a retaliatory nuclear attack, which would have probably resulted in immediate escalation of the Cold War stalemate to a full-scale nuclear war and the deaths of hundreds of millions of people. Investigation of the satellite warning system later confirmed that the system had indeed malfunctioned.

While it is highly probable that if Petrov had reported this incident to his superiors they would have come to the same conclusion, it was a point in time when many people feared that the Cold War might become hot. Andropov, the new Soviet leader, was considered weak by the US president Ronald Reagan, and the Western countries were deploying new missile installation in Europe to counter existing missiles in the Eastern Bloc. This fear of nuclear war meant that at this time the peace movement in most western countries reached one of its highest levels.

Antarctic penguins (and most other Antarctic animals for that matter) are very interesting because they lack a natural fear of humans since, of course, humans are not a natural occurrence on the continent. It is one of the few places on earth where it is completely normal for fully wild animals to be comfortable around you. In fact, most react as though humans are just especially large penguins as those are the only flightless biped native to the area.

As far as this gentoo penguin is concerned, it was saved by a float of large yellow penguins also hiding from orcas.

If you lived in the nation of Texas as a disabled person you were set.

The first president of Texas wanted to make sure the disabled were well taken care of and wouldn't have to worry about certain aspects of life.

She made housing more affordable for the disabled as well as working with the Texas home owners association to allow the disabled housing in safer neighborhoods for affordable prices.

Medical coverage was greatly approved and all medical charges for children were waved.

Schools became better equiped to teach disabled students along with work spaces being more accommodating.

More businesses owned by people with disabilities began popping up. From clothing to furniture and so much more.

Texas paved the way for them to thrive as the first generation of Texans growing up in an independent Texas would reach new heights as one child from Waco would become a country super star and make it to the Grand Ole Opry, some would become astronauts, others notable political figures, athletes, and more.

TL:DR no. no it would not.

Longer version is that it would for a few years, perhaps decades, cause global cooling due to the massive ash cloud from the immense, long burning firestorms that would result from nuclear bombings. However, as the heavier particulates drop out of the air (irradiating most of the globe in the process) the lighter particles increase global warming, for several centuries, in fact. Add to that the fact that many of the pollutants created would eat holes in the ozone layer, and it would in fact make everything much worse much faster.

Total nuclear disarmament. now.

Sasquatch!

Judas and his friends couldn't believe they had stumbled upon a real big foot, unfortunately it looks like it has an interest in them too.

The kids flee for their lives as the sasquatch chases after them.

They seek shelter in a bear down car, but the beast is incredibly strong and tries to tear the door off.

Judas sees the owner had left the keys in the ignition when the bombs dropped. Swallowing his pride, Judas says a little prayer to God. The car despite being abandoned for centuries, miraculously starts and Murphy the Puffin presses down on the gas as Judas steers.

They lose the sasquatch, but Judas ends up driving off a cliff and into the river. The impact is enough to knock the teen out.

He wakes up sometime later in a cylinder shaped object. Judas has no idea where they are and when he ask his friends, Mary the emperor chick says their on an angel flying to heaven.

Judas is confused, he looks out a window and sees a large white wing and beneath it clouds.

Mary gets upset as she believes they have died and won't be able to see her mother for a long time. However, upon observing the "angel" Kiwi realizes that their on a plane, a vehicle that once transported humans to different parts of the world.

A figure soon steps in to greet the children, it's the sasquatch.

What is the cost of a lie? What is the cost of power? What is the cost of proving oneself right? .... What is the cost of a life? With the orange fog expanding creeping its way towards the Valley wasteland, Boris must make a choice; stay in the valley and help fend off the fog until Ezekiel and Gracie get back from the Unkown with a solution to rid the fog, or take his clan and what military equipment they have and abandon the Valley? It's a difficult choice, other clans have been coming to the polar bears base asking for help, some in utter terror and panic. Boris sits at his desk and reflects on what lead humanity to its end. One nation wanting power. One at war with itself. And one that made itself its own power but left its siblings to fade in the atomic ashes.
