you can only reblog this if you're not racist
I have kind of a niche political view on tumblr, which is that I think misogyny is bad even when it’s just hurting women
and I don’t even think it needs to have a singular benefit for men for feminism and the abolition of patriarchy to be worthwhile
in fact the abolition of patriarchy could be a net loss for men and I would still think that feminism and the abolition of patriarchy was worth it
various tv, film, and theater producers for the last 50 years smacking themselves in the forehead like fuuuuck how can we make it easy to understand why carrie is alienated from her peers and callously bullied at school WITHOUT making her a hideous fatass like in the book
goodbye midriff, hello whatever you call this
sorry but you have to Earn the bush now. Pit Perverts are eating good though
can i be real with you i'm gonna start biting people
u people have got to get more normal ab people who don't make sense to u . I mean like people who ramble on and don't know how to have proper conversation . people who are completely incomprehensible . people who talk about delusions and hallucinations . people who can't understand social cues . people with speech impediments or no speech at all . people with vocal tics . not just because it's the decent thing to do but also bc this is most common in the most vulnerable marginalized people . youth , elders , mentally ill , disabled , addicts as well as more generally people with accents & non English speakers .
and stop calling the police on us !!!!!!
Collins is gone.
Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.
Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.
All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.
After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.
It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of years—far longer than settlers have been in Canada—and made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotēn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.
And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racism—like Kashechewan—because it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.
The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.
Right now, the AFN is currently accepting donations to help Collins First Nation. If you're able to, please consider donating.
ONWA (Ontario Native Women's Association) is another great place to donate to. They have outreach vans going to motels and inns and offering food, water, resources, and cultural support to those impacted by the wildfires.
Other places to consider donating to are Mikinakoos Emergency Fund, Red Cross, True North Aid, Indigenous Climate Action. You can also send donations directly to Whitesand First Nation via e-transfer ([email protected]) and they request that you add your full name in the e-transfer comment section to receive a tax receipt.
*Before sending money, verify that the appeal appears on an official First Nation, Tribal Council or registered charity channel.
If you can't offer financial support, please consider donating items of need. Moontime Connections is currently accepting drop-off donations. If you live in the Thunder Bay area, Namaygoosisagagun Health Office is also taking in donations! They can also bemailed to Superior Inn Hotel & Conference Centre at 555 West Arthur Street, Thunder Bay, ON, P7E 5P8.
items needed are: food, diapers, medical masks, men’s and women’s joggers (all sizes), children’s clothing (newborn to size 14), children’s shoes, summer clothing, men’s clothing, toiletries (lotion, Vaseline, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, etc.), strollers, adult depends-all sizes, dog & cat food

the sex binary is socially constructed and not actually descriptive of any biological truth. you know that, right? it's important to me that you know that
i know people can be a little overzealous in describing political backslides ("this used to be the feminism website!!!" etc.) but it's disturbing to me how much incredulity i've gotten from other trans people as of late just for, like, saying that "biological woman" is neither a real category nor a phrase that should ever leave your mouth uncritically
I'm realizing now as a more butch trans woman I dont really vibe with a lot of gender swap stories - not because I think they're "problematic" or whatever; I just dont find a lot of the tropes around dressing girly or wearing makeup appealing
I wasn't going to make this post, because as I rule I dont like to yuck anyone's yum, but now I'm thinking about what a gender swap story that appeals to me *would* look like... There's some potential there....
It's forcing me into a position of like... okay, so what *does* gender mean to me? And that's an interesting question I honestly hadn't really thought about much
It reminds me of how back in high school I briefly entertained the notion of joining the volleyball team. I'm not a super athletic person, but volleyball was something I was good at, and it would have been worth at least going to tryouts. I thought it'd make for a good after school activity. I'd get to be active and move my body around, and I'd get to hang out with Kayla and Shelly and- oh. Right. I'd have to join the boys team. Never mind.
The fantasy here is like raw camaraderie. I'd hit the ground too hard diving for the ball or something, and I'm super tough and cool and I wipe some blood from my lip, and my teammate helps me back up and there's a moment of pure connection. And I dont even mean that in a lesbian way I just mean that in a "we're in this together" kind of way. And anyways I'm secretly in a relationship with one of the cheerleaders and I would never cheat on her
I think the distillation of this fantasy is "hey, what if the locker room felt safe?"
ugghhhhh it's so fucking annoying fr. on a post abt the shipwreck on the coast north sentinel island
they are literally aware because they have eyes. they know about ships and planes. because they have eyes and working brains.
the lore is "outsider boat made of metal ran aground on our shore and we get to keep it, fuck yeah" because they have working brains. unlike you.
"uncontacted groups" of people are generally fully aware of the outside world and just choose not to interact with it

Something about the bastardization of the story time and time again proves that nobody in power really cares about the people who would resonate with King’s Carrie White. A girl so ugly and repulsive she’s been removed from her own story. The societal need for women and girls to be constantly perceived as attractive is what fuels a fair amount of her torment in the book, but that person isn’t even allowed to exist on the screen. We cannot empathize with her; it isn’t allowed. It’s fascinating to me.
boring take from real 21st century idiots: bdsm is bad because it's basically torture
interesting take from a fictional 14th century monk: torture is bad because it's basically sex
Shoutout to the nun who had other nuns tie her up and pour hot wax on her as she confessed her sins
I'm sure that's true, but something tells me googling "nun tied up by other nuns" "hot wax" "confessing sins" will likely get what you might call rather un-academic results
"Why do you talk so much about being intersex?"
Over 90% of parents of visibly intersex children opt for cosmetic surgery on their infants.
The ones that don't experience medical violence then, likely experience it as a teenager.
I didn't.
I am very rare in that I did not experience medical violence.
Why? Because I learned what intersexuality was as a young age, and I actively fought against what doctors wanted to do to me. All the way down to legal research on what medical care minors can be forced into. I remember walking into that doctor's appointment with the state law written down that proved that if I did not consent they could not do surgery.
That is why intersex activism is important. It saved me and it will save more.
I think a lot of people have trouble understanding transgender issues because they try to see themselves as trans, but come at it from the wrong direction. e. g. a cis woman tries to understand transness by going, “what if I felt like/wanted to be a man” when she should be approaching it as “what if I, a woman, was so easily mistaken for a man that I had to pretend to be one”,
And I think this is something to keep in mind and to explain away when trying to get these matters across to people who’re new to the idea.
remember when "don't assume everyone on the internet is a man" used to be like, the most average mildly liberal cisgender feminist opinion. But the moment a trans woman starts complaining about it you get the "listen my guy,"
At this point frankly you could fill a book with the list of stances that were considered basic milquetoast liberal feminist essentials fifteen years ago that have been completely abandoned specifically because they conflict with transmisogyny
honestly I feel really bad for Gooseworx cause she wrote a great story and half the fanbase turned out to be a bunch of redditors that turned on her and called her series trash cause they didn't understand that one of the characters was a closeted trans girl and then when they were told, they threw massive transphobic hissy fits about it.
I hope she's alright
