Star Wars Costumes - Kylo Ren, Rey, and Captain Phasma detail reference
I got a chance to go see three of the costumes at the exhibit at FIDM in downtown Los Angeles. I uploaded the high res and edited photos to my flickr. I have brighten many of the photos to show more of the details for cosplayers or artists to use for reference.
I don’t live far from FIDM and I am thinking about going back again before the exhibit leaves. If you have any requests of any details you need to see, I can try and get them the next time. Note I can not touch the costumes so any photos other than how they are posed I can not get. Just leave me a message in my ask box to request a photo. Any other costumes there I would be fine taking photos of as well.

Chinese Mermaid -《 鲛人 》- Jiaoren
The Chinese mermaid is called 鲛人/jiāorén. In addition to their beautiful appearance, they are also outstanding craftspeople. According to “In Search of the Supernatural/搜神记”, a 4th-century compilation of legends about ghosts and spirits, jiaoren lived in the South Sea, spent their days weaving cloth, and if they cried, their tears would turn into pearls. A few weeks ago I revamped the designs of Thoroughfare’s cast--something I’ve been meaning to do for yeaaars but was never quite able to tackle until now. Some of the designs (the military division ones especially) are so improved from their originals it hurts.
